Chapter 213: All on the Bed

"How many times did he kill you?"

Mia Sutton was focused on controlling her hero. When she heard the question, she first responded with a ’huh’ and then said without looking up, "Nine times."

The game’s sounds were still echoing in the room, and the opposing shooter, clearly frustrated, exclaimed, "Dude, I don’t think I did anything to provoke you, so why are you targeting just me!"

Jensen Sterling, while managing his game, typed back, "You killed my support."

The opponent replied, "That’s because she killed my wife in the last round!"

Jensen Sterling responded, "Unfortunately, the wife you killed multiple times in the last round was mine."

Seeing this message pop up on her phone screen, Mia Sutton’s hero in the game froze as her gaze lifted from the phone to glance at Jensen Sterling on the side. He continued controlling his hero as if he had just casually mentioned it.

Mia Sutton was playing Celeste, the professional healer. As she paused, their mid-lane hero was nearly destroyed by the opponent. The mid-laner cried out, "Support, support, why are you stopping there? Hurry and heal me!"

Only then did Mia Sutton snap out of it. She quickly controlled her hero, casting a flurry of skills and healing a third of the health with one move.

After casting the skills, Mia Sutton sneakily glanced at the person beside her, hoping he hadn’t noticed her brief lapse.

Judging by the look of things, he probably hadn’t. Mia Sutton returned to playing the game with peace of mind.

Honestly, that brief distraction wasn’t entirely her fault. Anyone would be momentarily stunned if someone suddenly referred to them as their wife.

...

The game continued, and they had already taken down the second tower. The opponent got killed once again, completely exasperated, regretting the decision to join this 5V5 match.

"I was wrong, man, I admit it okay? Can you stop only targeting me? I beg you!"

"One more time."

The opponent was dumbfounded, "What do you mean?"

"You’ve killed my player nine times."

The opposing male was silent, "... "

He understood Jensen Sterling’s point, despite not remembering exactly how many times he had killed their team members in the previous round, but he knew that he himself had been killed eight times already.

The one more time was because he had indeed killed Mia Sutton nine times!

No way, are they keeping track that precisely!

Eventually, he even gave up struggling, standing outside the tower and resignedly saying, "Come on, man, for the last time. Just finish it and please stop targeting me after this."

Jensen Sterling watched the hero standing outside the tower and shifted his gaze from the screen to look at the person next to him. Mia Sutton sensed his gaze, turned her head, and asked, "What’s wrong?"

Jensen Sterling said, "This last time, you take him down."

Mia Sutton blinked and then slowly said, "But I’m just a healer, I can’t kill."

Jensen Sterling, "It’s fine."

He then controlled his hero to weaken the opponent to low health and said, "Alright, come over and use a skill."

Listening to him, Mia Sutton directed her hero forward and cast a second skill, resulting in the glorious sacrifice of the opposing shooter.

As Mia Sutton gazed at the defeated character on her screen, she was still a bit dazed, her eyes twinkling as she blinked a few times, then asked in disbelief, "Did he... just die like that?"

Jensen Sterling replied in his usual, calm voice, "Yeah, he’s dead."

The opposing team had already accepted defeat as their economy was far behind, making a comeback impossible, so they eventually surrendered.

Mia Sutton stared at the "Victory" message on the screen, still somewhat in disbelief, and turned her head with a bewildered look at Jensen Sterling. Was it really over?

Jensen Sterling placed his phone to the side, looked at her, and chuckled softly, "Are you happy now?"

After two seconds, Mia Sutton nodded emphatically, her eyes sparkling like crescent moons, "Yes, happy."

She was genuinely happy. What could be more satisfying than personally taking out the one who had been killing you? Especially when you get the final hit on someone with just a sliver of health left – it was like the pinnacle of joy.

Moreover, after a long stretch of couple’s teamwork.

Mia Sutton was in a great mood now, turning her head and resting one hand on her head, she asked, "Jensen, how come you know how to play the game so well?"

She honestly never expected Jensen Sterling to play games, let alone be at such a high rank since he didn’t seem like a gaming person at all.

Jensen Sterling replied casually, "I once acted in a movie about esports, learned it then."

Mia Sutton nodded in understanding. That made sense; acting often required learning about different topics, it wasn’t surprising.

"Do you want to keep playing?" Jensen Sterling looked at Mia Sutton and asked slowly.

"Yes!"

Finally finding someone to help boost her rank, how could she pass up the opportunity? She was determined to regain all the stars she’d recently lost.

Thus, Jensen Sterling ended up being dragged into nearly two hours of gaming. Mia Sutton’s rank was successfully elevated to Star Glorious, after which she contentedly put down her phone.

She then suddenly realized the situation she was in, glanced down at the bed, then slowly raised her eyes to look at the person still seated in the chair.

Mia Sutton pursed her lips, hesitated for a moment, and hugged a stuffed toy, quietly asking, "So... Jensen, how are we going to sleep tonight?"

Jensen Sterling watched her on the bed, looking extremely adorable, holding what was in her hands, her eyes a bit watery as they looked at him. After a moment, he slowly spoke, unsure if it was because he hadn’t spoken for a while due to playing games or for some other reason, his voice slightly raspy.

"Should I sleep on the couch then?"

Hearing this, Mia Sutton instinctively turned to look at the couch on the side. Everything in this room was top-notch, and the couch was very large, but... Mia Sutton looked at the person next to her and then at the couch again.

Though the couch was large enough for her, Jensen Sterling might find it a bit cramped. Moreover, this was his room, asking the owner to sleep on the couch seemed a bit unfair. After deliberating with this thought for a moment, Mia Sutton abandoned it.

It was also impossible for her to sleep on the couch when there was such a comfortable big bed. Why would she make herself suffer by sleeping on the couch?

So, within a few seconds, Mia Sutton made up her mind and looked at Jensen Sterling with a tone of negotiation, "How about we both sleep on the bed? The bed... is pretty big. She said while patting the bed beside her.

After patting it, she noticed Jensen Sterling’s gaze and followed his eyes to look at her hand, "..."

Then quietly retracted her hand and heard Jensen Sterling say, "Alright."

Mia Sutton, "Hm?"

Jensen Sterling stood up from the chair and said, "We’ll both sleep on the bed."
