Chapter 88: Chapter 88: Summer Lowell Accidentally Knocked Over Venus

The night fell, and the evening banquet officially began.

Summer Lowell followed the others into the brightly lit, dazzling hall.

After a while, the much-anticipated Ms. Venus finally appeared on the spiral staircase inside the hall.

Venus, dressed in a black evening gown, gracefully descended the stairs and walked to the microphone at the bottom.

Standing at the back of the crowd, Summer Lowell clapped while enviously watching Venus, who seemed to be glowing from afar.

When would she ever reach the achievements of Ms. Venus?

That was the height she aspired to reach.

As she was thinking about it, a person dressed as a waiter approached her: "Excuse me, are you Stellart’s Design Director, Ms. Summer Lowell?"

Summer looked at the serious expression of the person in front of her and couldn’t help but feel puzzled. She nodded: "Yes, that’s me. What’s the matter?"

In the front, Ms. Venus seemed to have said something again, which was greeted with enthusiastic applause, drowning out the waiter’s words.

Summer frowned and motioned for the person to step outside to the corridor: "Is there something wrong? I couldn’t hear you clearly inside just now."

"It’s like this, Ms. Lowell. The gentleman who came with you today, is he Mr. Noah, your Vice President at Stellart?"

Only then did Summer realize that Noah had been missing for a while, and she quickly questioned the waiter: "Yes, we came together. What happened to him?"

"Well, a gentleman who was drinking with him suddenly felt unwell and was taken to the hospital. Mr. Noah couldn’t reach you by phone, so he asked me to find you."

Not grasping the key point in the waiter’s words, Summer, confused, followed him outside: "Where is Noah now?"

"Mr. Noah is at the entrance. He seems in a hurry to leave. Could you please come with me?"

Soon, Summer followed him to the main entrance.

At the entrance, Noah was pacing anxiously. Seeing Summer approaching, he quickly greeted her: "There’s an issue with my phone, so I couldn’t reach you. I need to step out for a bit, can you manage here on your own?"

Summer was bewildered and let out an "Ah," then quickly agreed: "I can manage. Is everything okay on your end?"

Noah shook his head with a complicated expression: "I’m not sure. It was sudden, and Elias is not familiar with the situation here, so I need to go help him."

"Then go ahead, don’t worry about here. I can handle it on my own."

With no other choice, Noah hesitated but eventually said, "I know you don’t like socializing. If it’s too much, just find a place to rest. I’ll come back once I’ve sorted things out here."

His sincerity made Summer smile: "Don’t worry, President Norris. I’ll try not to waste this trip."

"Alright, take it slow. There’s no need to rush. You’re not accustomed to this anyway."

Noah hurriedly consoled her with a few more words, then turned and jogged out to the already-started car, quickly leaving.

After watching him leave, Summer turned around, took a deep breath, and headed toward the brightly lit banquet hall.

The waiter who had been waiting not far away approached quickly: "Miss Lowell, do you need me to show you the way?"

"No need," Summer smiled at him, "It’s not far from here anyway, so I can walk slowly and enjoy the cool summer night’s breeze."

"But..." the waiter couldn’t help but remind her, "Ms. Venus’s speech seems to be almost over."

"I know."

Summer looked up at the banquet hall that had already begun dancing, "Even if I rushed over now, I wouldn’t catch Ms. Venus’s wonderful speech. Look closely, haven’t they already started dancing over there?"

Upon hearing this, the waiter turned to look, then couldn’t help but shake his head regretfully: "That’s really unfortunate."

Unbothered by this, Summer smiled faintly: "You must be busy too, so go ahead with your work. I’ll take my time; the scenery at Ms. Venus’s villa is lovely, and it’s nice just walking and feeling the breeze."

The waiters working here were sharp. Hearing Summer’s words, he immediately understood that she wanted to walk alone. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

"Alright, Miss Lowell, feel free to find me if you need anything."

"Thank you, go ahead with your work."

Once the waiter was far away, Summer slowed her already leisurely pace even more.

Noah was right; she truly didn’t like these kinds of events.

If not for her future career, she wouldn’t force herself to socialize every few days.

Compared to this, she would undoubtedly prefer hiking with Justin Huxley.

Summer deliberately slowed her pace, gradually inching her way towards the banquet hall.

Focused on her pathway, she didn’t notice Tina Huxley, not far away, arms crossed, watching her from behind a column.

Finally making her way to the entrance of the banquet hall, Summer halted, tidying up her chaotic emotions and skillfully putting on a standard smile, she lifted her right foot, elegantly walking into the room.

With each step, at the moment she extended her left foot, she slipped unexpectedly, losing control and lunging forward.

At the same moment, Summer realized who was just inches away from her, back turned.

The silhouette was none other than the host of the banquet, Ms. Venus.

In that instant, Summer felt as if the blood in her veins had frozen.

The next second, the entire banquet hall was in an uproar.

Those nearby rushed over, helping both Summer and Ms. Venus, whom she had knocked down, off the floor.

Being helped up, Summer, ignoring the piercing pain in her right foot, stumbled forward a few steps, urgently inquiring about Ms. Venus’s condition.

Because she seemed to see blood on the floor.

Unfortunately, with so many eager to assist, Summer was pushed aside by several people, leaving her to watch helplessly as Ms. Venus was escorted away.

She hadn’t even apologized.

She hadn’t even confirmed whether Ms. Venus had been injured.

After some time, unable to hold back any longer, Summer grabbed the wrist of someone nearby: "I saw you come from over there, could you tell me how Ms. Venus is doing? Is she alright?"

The person, Yara, whose sleeve she had grabbed, harshly shook off her hand, looking at her with disdain: "Miss Lowell, you’d better look after yourself first. The butler has already called for a private doctor to tend to Ms. Venus’s wound."

Summer, trying to stay calm, continued to inquire: "Could you please tell me what exactly happened to Ms. Venus? Is it serious?"

Yara looked at her with an obscure gaze, finally speaking slowly, "She hurt her hand, the right hand, the one Ms. Venus uses to draw design drafts. As for how severe it is, I wouldn’t know."
