Chapter 84: Chapter 84: Asking Justin Huxley About Her Preferences

Summer Lowell placed her handbag behind her, thanked the waiter who poured her water, and then replied to Justin Huxley, "I do have that plan, but I’ve gotten busy again, so I don’t have time to go for now."

"No rush, take your time. I’m happy to be your chauffeur, always at your service."

Justin Huxley took the menu from the waiter’s hand and handed it to Summer Lowell, "Pick a few dishes you like."

"Oh, that’s so embarrassing. I said I’d treat you to dinner." Summer Lowell took the menu, "In the end, you’re the one spending money."

"Is there really a need for us to be so particular with each other?"

Justin Huxley gave Summer Lowell a meaningful glance, "I still remember when we used to dine together abroad, the dishes you picked always suited my taste. No other girl has matched that till now."

Not wanting to continue on this topic, Summer Lowell smiled, opened the menu, chose a few of the restaurant’s signature dishes, considering his taste, and then returned the menu to the waiter.

After the waiter turned to leave, Summer Lowell picked up her cup, took a sip of water, and got to the main point of today: "Senior, actually, there’s something else I need your help with today."

Eager to have Summer owe him a favor, Justin Huxley loosened the tie at his neck: "Just say it. I’ll do my best to help."

"Here’s the thing," Summer Lowell leaned forward slightly, "Today, President Norris suddenly told me that he wants to take me to a two-day event this weekend, hosted by Ms. Venus."

"Ms. Venus," Justin Huxley repeated the name, suddenly realizing, "She’s a significant figure in the design world. You ditched me for her, didn’t you?"

Summer Lowell smiled apologetically, "Yes, President Norris values this event a lot. And I’ve already botched two projects before, so the headquarters is displeased with me. I can’t miss any opportunity to redeem myself."

"You," Justin Huxley sat up straight, looked at Summer Lowell with concern, "No wonder you’ve been so busy lately. You ran into trouble at work. How’s it going now? Need my help?"

"No need, senior," Summer Lowell smiled, "The matter is over now. What’s most important is for me to keep doing well. This event hosted by Ms. Venus is a critical opportunity for me!"

"So tell me what you need me to do," Justin Huxley said as he pulled out his phone, swiping through it before looking up at Summer Lowell, "I happen to have Ms. Venus’s contact information. Do you need me to arrange a private meeting with her?"

Summer Lowell was taken aback by his straightforwardness and quickly waved her hand, "No, no, there’s no need for that now. I mainly wanted to ask you about Ms. Venus’s preferences because President Norris said the event is quite formal, and he also wants me to dress formally."

Justin Huxley nodded knowingly, "You want to know her preferences, to see if you can impress her and win her over, right?"

That’s the general idea, but when he says it, it feels a bit off.

Detecting the oddity as well, Justin Huxley reflected, "Indeed, the way I put it sounds strange."

"That’s not important, as long as you understand my intention."

"Of course, I get it," Justin Huxley nodded earnestly, "And you’re right to ask me about her preferences because she can be a bit eccentric. If you hit a nerve, things could go badly."

Just as they were talking, the waiter came over to serve the dishes.

They paused their conversation, and after the waiter finished serving, Summer Lowell quickly asked, "Senior, you said just now that Ms. Venus is a bit peculiar. In what way?"

"Don’t rush!" Justin Huxley raised his index finger, shaking it in disapproval, "Let’s eat first, there’s plenty of time to talk afterward. Rest assured, I won’t hold anything back."

Summer Lowell could only smile awkwardly, "Alright, let’s eat first."

"Summer, I understand how you feel, but you can’t rush things."

Justin Huxley got up and poured her half a glass of wine, "This wine is aromatic and smooth, have a bit to relax. You seem really stressed."

Unable to refuse his kindness, Summer Lowell raised her glass and took a generous sip. Though she knew little about wine, she mimicked the way Maxim Sinclair used to drink it, trying to express an evaluation of the wine.

"Not bad, you know your stuff." Justin Huxley looked at her, pleasantly surprised, "Do you like this wine? I have two more bottles at my place, I can give you one."

"No, no," Summer Lowell quickly waved to decline, not wanting to owe more favors, "I actually don’t drink much wine."

"There you go, being so distant and formal again," Justin Huxley looked at her discontentedly, "You call me ’senior’, so it’s only right I take care of you. No need to act so surprised."

"Besides," Justin Huxley played the emotional card, "you never were this formal when you needed my help before. What is it now? Got concerns?"

Over the years, Summer Lowell had gotten used to handling things on her own, having forgotten what it was like to rely on someone.

Yet now, his words warmed her heart.

"Aren’t I turning to you for help right now?" Summer Lowell smiled, "I just don’t want to impose too much."

Justin Huxley waved his hand grandly, "No problem, I don’t mind a little trouble."

"In that case, if I need more help in the future, I’ll come to you, senior," Summer Lowell lifted her glass, "Here’s to my good fortune in having a great senior like you."

Since Summer Lowell was eager to learn more about Venus, they wrapped up the meal quickly.

Afterward, Justin Huxley had his driver take both of them to the seaside, where they chatted about Venus while enjoying the gentle evening breeze.

Ever diligent, Summer Lowell took out her phone, noting down every detail Justin Huxley mentioned about Venus.

It was close to midnight when Justin Huxley, with his remaining patience, coaxed Summer Lowell, "It’s getting late. You should head back and rest. What I’ve told you should be enough to understand her."

Hearing his hoarse voice, Summer Lowell smiled apologetically and personally opened a bottle of water, handing it over, "Senior, your throat must be terribly sore."

"No problem, it’s all for our dear Summer. Not sure if it’ll help though."
