Chapter 251: Chapter 251: Can You Please Not Tire Me Out Tonight?

"Didn’t Mr. Justin say he found a breakthrough?" The woman lowered her head, smiled faintly, and slowly took a sip of tea. "As expected, you’re the best at making tea."

"Just a random brew," Justin Huxley reached out to refill her cup. "Indeed, I’ve found a breakthrough, but this breakthrough has recently developed its own consciousness and is a bit hard to manage."

"A breakthrough with its own consciousness can’t be left alone." The woman put down her empty cup. "Is there no possibility of using it?"

"Of course there is," Justin said calmly with a smile. "It’s within my expectations and under my control. Summer Lowell has had a rough childhood; she’s always been looking for her biological parents and has never experienced normal love. Naturally, she doesn’t understand what love is."

The woman sitting across from him, listening patiently, shook her head with a sigh. "Miss Lowell seems a bit unlucky, being so beautiful yet having a tough life. Finally growing up, yet meeting Maxim Sinclair, I wonder if it’s her fortune or misfortune."

"It can be considered lucky. At least he showed her a world she couldn’t enter," Justin remarked, remembering something and tapping the back of the woman’s hand. "When Summer was first brought to Maxim Sinclair’s side, she worked as a secretary, much like you."

"It’s naturally different," Cameron Young smiled charmingly. "At least my heart is loyal, and I won’t stab you in the back."

"Loyalty isn’t just about words," Justin looked at her with a meaningful smile. "Even when Summer had a confirmed relationship with Maxim Sinclair, she dared to steal secrets. She really..."

Cameron laughed in response. "Miss Lowell might have felt too distant from Maxim Sinclair and opted for her career, thinking it wouldn’t last."

"I don’t know what she thought back then, but I know she’s now fallen for Maxim Sinclair. The most interesting part is, she doesn’t even want to admit it."

Justin played with a delicate empty teacup in his hand. "There have been so many unpleasant experiences between them that even if she wants to go back now, she doesn’t dare believe they could last."

Cameron picked up the teapot and poured him another cup of tea. "Mr. Justin is wise; to deal with Miss Lowell, attacking the heart is key."

"The funny thing is, I’m too familiar with her. Summer Lowell is good all over, except she lacks love deep down. She’s had a rough youth, doesn’t understand love, and is now lost. It’s the perfect time to use her against Maxim Sinclair."

The more Justin thought about it, the more delighted he became, even laughing out loud.

...

Summer Lowell sat up from her bed with a groggy head, looking at the crimson rays of light streaming through the curtains. She rubbed her eyes and reached for her phone.

Realizing it was already six o’clock in the afternoon, Summer felt utterly ridiculous and laughed.

That madman Maxim Sinclair said he’d let her go, yet in the end, his words fell short. He kept her up almost until dawn, making her sleep the whole day away.

What would those downstairs say about her?

Summer, feeling vexed, covered her face with her hand. The butler was always so considerate towards her, giving her full attention and care.

Now she really felt embarrassed to go down!

Not knowing how to face the others downstairs later, Summer lingered in her room for over an hour before finally descending slowly due to the hunger she could no longer bear.

In the living room downstairs, the butler was just discussing how to clean the tapestry on the wall. Upon seeing Summer, he quickly came over with a warm smile. "Young Madam, the young master said you were up late creating last night. He told us not to disturb you during the day and even instructed the kitchen to prepare a broth to replenish your energy, as working late at night easily depletes it. The soup is warming on the stove; I’ll bring it to you right away."

Hearing this, Summer secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Maxim Sinclair did do a bit of a good deed by helping her save face.

Otherwise, she couldn’t imagine how she’d stay in this villa any longer.

With her stomach growling, Summer sat at the table, trying hard to resist the urge to devour the food, and elegantly sipped the hot soup that was brought to her, using a porcelain spoon.

"Did you just get up?"

"Cough... cough!"

Maxim Sinclair’s voice boomed out like thunder above her head.

Unable to stop in time, Summer choked.

Maxim understood why she had choked and walked over, patting her on the back mischievously. "Are you so excited to see me? Look at you, choking like that."

With others in the living room, Summer couldn’t push him away, so she only looked up, eyes filled with resentment, and glared at him.

But unknown to her, her gaze, instead of being intimidating, had an alluring allure that only made Maxim itch even more.

"Drink slowly; no one is competing with you," Maxim chuckled, patting her back before sitting down and serving himself a bowl. "Being early doesn’t beat good timing. I arrived just in time to have dinner with you."

Looking at Maxim who sat right next to her, Summer lowered her voice, grinding her teeth. "Can you sit further away? Sitting next to me makes me lose my appetite."

Maxim laughed at her words and turned to look at Summer, speaking slowly. "I’ll give you a chance to say it again. Think carefully!"

Forced by circumstances, Summer bit her lip, stayed silent for a moment, and then continued to eat quietly.

Seeing her yield, Maxim shook his head with a smile, quickly finished his meal, and went upstairs first.

As soon as he left, Summer slowed her eating pace.

After a whole day of sleeping with nothing to eat, she was truly starving.

Upstairs, Maxim opened the surveillance on his phone, watching Summer still eating at the dining table while walking into her wardrobe.

He took out her bottle, which looked like it contained vitamins, emptied the medicine inside, refilled it with the drugs he had prepared, and screwed the lid back on, placing it where it had been.

After setting everything up, he turned into the bathroom and started washing his hands.

Downstairs, after finishing her meal, Summer sat at the table, pondering whether to go upstairs right away or sit in the garden.

Though she had slept the whole day, she still felt exhausted and wanted to go back to sleep.

But if she went up now and bumped into Maxim, who knew if she’d even get to sleep?

The butler, coming and going, noticed Summer’s apparent fatigue when passing the dining table and kindly advised, "Young Madam, would you like to take a stroll? After walking, go to bed early tonight, and don’t overwork. You seem a bit too tired; it looks like you haven’t rested well."

Summer propped her head up with her hand and smiled politely. "Thank you for your concern, I will make sure to rest."

As long as your young master doesn’t mess with me tonight, I’ll certainly be able to rest well.
