Chapter 230: Chapter 230: Preparing to Invite Vivian Sullivan to Varden Villa

Summer Lowell glanced at Assistant Collins meaningfully, snorted, and walked past him.

Assistant Collins chuckled indifferently and went to find Maxim Sinclair with the files.

This time, the files he brought were carefully selected by Charles Jenson, tasks that would keep Maxim Sinclair occupied for quite some time.

So it wasn’t until evening that Summer Lowell finally saw Maxim Sinclair, who had just finished his busy day.

After dinner, Summer Lowell, bored and restless, took her phone to the garden gazebo to chat idly with Vivian Sullivan.

Meanwhile, in the study, as Maxim Sinclair was speaking, he suddenly paused, causing Assistant Collins to wonder if something was amiss and ask about it.

Maxim Sinclair picked up a wireless earbud, put it in his ear, listened for a while, and then continued with the unfinished conversation.

Assistant Collins glanced over but couldn’t make out what Maxim Sinclair was listening to.

After finishing a task, Maxim Sinclair suddenly closed the file, looked up at Assistant Collins, and asked, "I asked you to keep an eye on Justin Huxley. Any updates recently?"

"There are results, but confirmation is still ongoing."

Maxim Sinclair noticed the hesitation on his face: "What’s the matter?"

"Justin Huxley seems to be secretly establishing his own empire,"

Assistant Collins picked up a pen and wrote down a few names on paper.

Maxim Sinclair glanced down at them: "These three people have an unusual relationship with Tina Huxley’s father."

"Yes, President Sinclair," Assistant Collins nodded. "Justin Huxley, somehow, managed to draw these three people into his camp."

"How should I interpret this? Although Tina Huxley’s dad asked Justin Huxley for help, he has always been cautious about things that need to be guarded against."

Maxim Sinclair took his phone, pulled up a chat group, scrolled through the chat history quickly, "Justin Huxley seems to be showing signs of wanting to usurp control!"

The information Assistant Collins had also pointed in this direction, but he didn’t dare to mention why Justin Huxley suddenly went berserk.

But he didn’t need to say it; Maxim Sinclair clearly had a sense of it.

"Justin Huxley is suddenly so driven," Maxim Sinclair put down the phone, rubbed his chin, and asked Assistant Collins, "Do you think it’s because he’s deeply in love with Summer Lowell, or is it that he refuses to admit defeat to me?"

Assistant Collins didn’t hesitate and directly chose the latter: "I guess it’s dissatisfaction; he’s always been using the Madam, and his purpose in using her is to defeat you, President Sinclair."

"Is it that straightforward, or is she truly foolish enough to not believe it?" Maxim Sinclair’s eyebrows showed signs of irritation.

Assistant Collins knew immediately who he was talking about, but he wisely didn’t meddle in his boss’s family affairs.

"Stick to the original plan, continue monitoring Justin Huxley, and report to me at once if you find any signs of dishonesty."

Maxim Sinclair tossed aside the items in his hand, speaking impatiently.

"Understood, President Sinclair, I’ll have people closely monitor Justin Huxley’s situation, and as soon as anything seems off, I’ll inform you immediately."

"Okay."

Assistant Collins stayed until late at night before leaving.

When Maxim Sinclair went downstairs, the butler had just come out of the kitchen. Seeing him, he sighed the usual way: "You haven’t eaten well today, Young Master, you must have forgotten how uncomfortable your past stomachache was."

"Too busy," Maxim Sinclair pulled out a chair, sat down, and took the bowl of soup from the warming tray, "Has Summer gone back to her room to rest already?"

The butler nodded: "Young Madam stayed in the garden all afternoon. It seemed like she was painting, but I noticed she didn’t paint much. In the evening, she only ate a little before going to rest. I haven’t seen her come down since."

"She only ate a little?" Maxim Sinclair frowned, "Compared to before the incident, is her appetite more or less?"

"Much less. I’ve noticed that ever since you brought Young Madam back a few days ago, her eating has decreased compared to before the incident. But in the past two days, it’s become even more apparent. Especially today, the meal she was served, she barely touched. She went upstairs after only half a bowl of soup and her few bites of food could basically be disregarded."

"Eating so little?" Maxim Sinclair put down his chopsticks, "Does she seem troubled today?"

The butler recalled, nodding and shaking his head, "It’s hard to say. When I delivered things to Young Madam, she was smiling, but watching from afar while she painted, she seemed somehow lonely."

Maxim Sinclair held the chopstick rest, was silent for a while, then nodded, "Okay, I understand. I should be able to wrap up my tasks sufficiently; I’ll try to take more time to be with her."

"That’s right," the butler nodded repeatedly, "Young Master, you should spend more time with Young Madam, not just focus on work. Young couples like you and Young Madam should be together more, go out and play; that’s how emotions can warm up."

"I wouldn’t be opposed to spending all day with her," Maxim Sinclair laughed wryly, "but she might not feel the same."

"What do you mean?" The butler was puzzled by what he said, "You and Young Madam seem perfectly matched! You’re the most well-matched couple I’ve ever seen."

With that, the butler recalled what Maxim Sinclair had done before.

"Of course, you and Young Madam did have some displeasure before; mainly, Young Master, you’re lacking in experience in such matters. I see Mr. Jennings as quite experienced; why don’t you consult him?"

"You mean Charles Jenson?" Maxim Sinclair showed an odd expression.

The butler nodded with understanding: "Yes, Mr. Jennings. I’ve heard Assistant Collins mention that Mr. Jenson changes girlfriends more often than clothes. For so many girls to be devoted to him, Mr. Jennings must have some techniques."

"His wealth, his looks, along with his easy-going attitude," Maxim Sinclair shook his head in disagreement, "Also, Uncle Walsh, you don’t know, he’s currently very worried too. After so many years of being a playboy, he finally fell genuinely for someone, only to meet a girl with strong principles. His own matters are not yet resolved, so he can’t give me advice."

After finishing, Maxim Sinclair shook his head with a laugh, "The most interesting thing is, the girl Charles Jenson is desperately chasing now is particularly good friends with Summer Lowell. These two sisters, each harder to chase than the other."

"If that’s really the case, it would be wonderful," the butler grew interested, "How about you ask Mr. Jennings to bring that girl over here? First, they can meet their friends, which would make both of them happy; secondly, you and Mr. Jennings can seize the opportunity to show your mettle."

Uncle Owen’s suggestion moved Maxim Sinclair.

"You say... it’s not impossible," Maxim Sinclair thought of the calm and steady Dr. Sullivan that Charles Jenson had described, "That Dr. Sullivan has a preconceived negative impression of me, her presence can significantly influence Summer’s perception of me."
