Consequences of Dumping the Obsessive Boss: Stuck with Him Forever-Chapter 200: Maxim Sinclair Isn’t Easy to Fool
Assistant Collins took his phone and scrolled through it.
Just as the secretary said, a few minutes ago, someone posted that joint statement in the chat, and the previously silent group immediately exploded.
Especially those few who had been working overtime on the Bluegate Project, continuously spewing colorful language.
Assistant Collins felt sorry for them.
"All that hard work for nothing."
"Exactly," the secretary said, nodding, "This is the first time we’ve been bullied like this; we’re usually the ones grabbing projects from others. Who could swallow this down? The one cursing the most crazily has been working overtime for weeks, just to perform well on the Bluegate Project and earn a bit more for the year-end bonus, and now it’s all for nothing."
After talking, the secretary nudged Assistant Collins with his elbow, indicating the office behind him: "You just came out from there, how did President Sinclair react? Being snatched by The Huxley Group just like that, with President Sinclair’s temper, he wouldn’t just let this go, right?"
"President Sinclair is busy and only told me to draft an email to be cc’d to the heads of the other subsidiaries, reminding them to be careful so that similar issues won’t happen again."
"That’s all?" The secretary clearly didn’t believe what he was hearing, "Didn’t President Sinclair say anything about trying to get the project back?"
"As of now, he hasn’t mentioned it, he’s busy with work, and this matter is already settled. Didn’t you see the joint statement? How can we take it back? Besides, trying to reclaim it would be unwise and unprofitable." Assistant Collins said as he returned to his desk, turned on his computer, and prepared to write an email to cc the heads of subsidiaries.
Reluctantly, the secretary followed: "Did you remind President Sinclair that there’s a shareholder meeting next week? With such a big incident at this juncture, those shareholders are bound to give President Sinclair a hard time, especially since recently..." The secretary glanced at the office door far away.
Assistant Collins understood the unsaid implications and shot him a warning look: "We’ve worked here for so long, how could you make such a petty mistake?"
The secretary raised his hand, tapped his mouth, and apologized softly: "I spoke without thinking, fortunately, I didn’t say it out loud."
"Alright, stop gossiping and get back to your work, President Sinclair just wants to remind those subsidiary heads, he didn’t mention anything specific."
Assistant Collins typed away, reminding the overly gossip-prone secretary, "You should quiet down, don’t speak indiscriminately. When people downstairs come to ask you about this, tell them you know nothing. As for those unlucky employees, I’ll mention them to President Sinclair and try to get them some benefits, as a consolation."
"Alright, I’ll pass on your words to them. Thank goodness for Assistant Collins." The secretary finally felt reassured and returned to his desk to continue working.
...
Justin Huxley walked proudly into the Huxley Group office, greeted with bows and congratulations from every employee along the way.
Especially on the top floor, the Executive President’s Office, as soon as he entered, Mr. Huxley rose from behind his desk, arms wide open, laughing heartily and walked towards him: "Good job, kid! You handled this beautifully!"
"Glad I didn’t let you down, Uncle," Justin smiled slightly and pulled the contract from his briefcase to hand to Mr. Huxley, "This is the contract signed with President Grant of Aevum Group. Initially, I planned to have him come to Stellarion so you could host and then have him personally sign it with you, but President Grant is heading overseas in a couple of days, his schedule is tight, and he can’t come to Stellarion."
"That’s not important; your signature is just as valid. Besides, you sealed the deal for this project, it’s only fitting you sign," Mr. Huxley patted his shoulder strongly, lamenting, "You’ve worked hard on this trip. When the old man heard the news this morning, he was so happy he had two extra bowls of porridge and insisted the chef prepare a celebratory feast tonight."
"All thanks to your guidance. Without your teachings, I wouldn’t have been able to secure this project with my previous skills."
Complimented generously, Mr. Huxley waved his hand repeatedly: "You’re an impressive and modest young man, unlike my two disappointing kids. I’d be content if they had half your ability."
"My two younger brothers are still young. When I was their age, I was more unruly than them. Slowly guide them; with you around, they’ll definitely become more skilled than me." Justin praised Mr. Huxley without changing his expression.
Mr. Huxley laughed heartily and repeatedly, secured the contract, and pulled Justin to sit on the sofa, "You just arrived in Stellarion and might not know, but in the past three hours since the joint statement was released, many people have called to congratulate me!"
Justin smiled lightly, recalling what he was most concerned about, Maxim Sinclair: "What’s the reaction from the Sinclair Group?"
"Maxim Sinclair himself hasn’t reacted much, he’s been in the office reportedly busy with work," Mr. Huxley picked up his phone and displayed some screenshots to Justin, "Their company group has been quite lively, full of curses. Your interception wasted all their previous efforts."
Justin smirked coldly: "Just as well let them taste what it feels like to be intercepted."
Scrolling through, Justin noticed several particularly known individuals also cursing vehemently.
The screenshots demonstrated the extent of anger within the Sinclair Group after the Bluegate Project was intercepted.
Justin watched, feeling as refreshed as having a cool drink on a hot summer day.
"These few are key figures in the Sinclair Group, and even they’re unsettled, showing how crucial this project is to the Sinclair Group,"
Mr. Huxley retrieved his phone, somewhat uneasy, asking Justin, "Maxim Sinclair hasn’t made any moves, isn’t this situation a bit strange?"
"Not a move at all? Has he indicated any intention to have his subordinates try again?" Justin, affected by his unease, also felt a vague concern.
After all, Maxim Sinclair is known for deep scheming.
Back when he first took over the Sinclair Group, many attempted to trap him due to his youth, but ultimately, they were not only unsuccessful but also ended up being outmaneuvered by Maxim Sinclair.
Justin, wary of this, cautiously advised Mr. Huxley: "We should confirm; if Maxim Sinclair has another move ready, it would be unfavorable for us!"
"Probably not an issue," Mr. Huxley tapped his fingers on his leg, "I’ve heard he only instructed his Assistant Collins to remind each subsidiary head to keep watch and prevent such incidents. Haha, perhaps he truly has no other moves left."
