Consequences of Dumping the Obsessive Boss: Stuck with Him Forever-Chapter 154: The Rude Girl?
Tina Huxley looked around, subtly inquiring to the siblings, "How long have you two been here?"
Melanie Sinclair knew what she really wanted to ask, smiling warmly, "We’ve been here a while, Grandpa called us over, and sister-in-law will come later too."
Upon hearing this, the smile on Tina’s face faltered somewhat.
Just then, a silhouette appeared on the gravel path leading this way, and Melanie raised her head to see Summer Lowell approaching.
Tina noticed her reaction, turned to look, and her expression gradually darkened.
Sure enough, it was Summer Lowell.
Summer, of course, also immediately saw Tina standing with Melanie and others.
As expected, Melanie must have staged this scene because she felt embarrassed in front of him.
Just as ridiculous as Tina.
Summer was led to Old Master Sinclair, who was engrossed in his chess game, seemingly oblivious to Summer’s presence.
Marcus Sinclair and Melanie exchanged a glance, turned around, and started chatting with Tina, pretending not to see Summer.
Tina glanced gleefully at Summer, chuckled maliciously, and then began chatting with Melanie about the weather, hand in hand.
The group deliberately neglected Summer, who found it amusing and casually walked over to the chess table to watch Old Master Sinclair play with someone else.
After three consecutive games, the old man playing against Old Master Sinclair finally snapped out of the chess match, noticing someone standing beside them: "Whose girl is this, so pretty!"
Old Master Sinclair glanced at her, then casually tidied up the chessboard, "Keep playing, didn’t you say you’d play ten games today?"
"I won’t play with you, you seem distracted today," the old man picked up a nearby fan, fanned himself a few times, and got up shaking his head, "I dare not beat you, with so much backup here, I’m afraid I won’t be able to leave after winning."
The old man laughed heartily, looking at Summer curiously again, "Young lady, whose family do you belong to? I’ve never seen you before."
Summer smiled politely and replied warmly, "I’m not from anyone’s family, just passing by, taking a look."
"Interesting, so which of us do you think is better at chess?"
Summer didn’t understand chess, so she shook her head honestly, "I don’t know; I can’t play chess, just watching for leisure."
"You young people..." The old man glared, shaking his head as he walked away, "Nowadays, young people are just so incomprehensible."
After finishing his words, the old man left, and Summer pondered for a moment before simply sitting down in the old man’s former seat.
Almost as soon as she sat down, all eyes present were on her.
Old Master Sinclair snorted coldly, grabbed the nearby cane, and left without looking back.
Melanie quickly grabbed Marcus and chased after him.
Tina watched the group walking away, stepped to Summer’s side, "That’s Maxim Sinclair’s grandpa, didn’t you know?"
"I know," Summer toyed with a chess piece, looking at her with a cheerful smile, "So what? What do you want to say?"
Tina observed her, cautiously trying to discern what Summer was thinking.
Summer tilted her head, smiling brightly at Tina.
Tina, the first to lose her nerve, avoided her gaze and looked away. After a while, she turned back, "I heard...you’re about to become Maxim Sinclair’s wife?"
Summer propped her left cheek, idly flicking a chess piece, and after a long pause, responded, "Where did you hear that from? Why am I unaware of it?"
Tina frowned, Summer’s reaction...was quite off.
She suspected Summer was deliberately playing with her.
Just as Tina was about to speak, a phone rang. Glancing down, she saw it was a message from Melanie.
It said to bring Summer along to see Old Master Sinclair, and seeing Summer idly playing with the chess pieces, an idea formed in Tina’s mind.
She put down the phone, pointed to the distance, "This sanatorium is famous for its observation deck, and since you haven’t been in Stellarion for a year yet, you probably haven’t seen the view from there. Do you want to check it out?"
Summer looked expressionlessly at the unfocused Tina for a long time before laughing, "Sure, I’ll go take a look."
Tina rose to follow, but Summer gestured for her not to come along, "I have a peculiar habit of not liking anyone to accompany me while sightseeing, so I hope you understand, Miss Huxley."
This request suited Tina perfectly.
Tina feigned concern for Summer, "That spot seems quite far; will you be ok going alone, Miss Lowell?"
Summer gave her a meaningful look, smirked coldly, and turned to walk ahead.
Tina watched her back, took out her phone, and sent two messages. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
Summer reached the corner, glanced back at Tina who was fiddling with her phone, and slipped away in the opposite direction.
On the other side, after sending the messages, Tina returned to Old Master Sinclair’s room.
Inside, Old Master Sinclair was drinking tea, with Melanie standing behind, massaging his shoulders.
Seeing Tina enter, Old Master Sinclair happily waved her over, "Come over, Tina, it’s been a while since we’ve seen you."
Tina smiled broadly as she came over, placing a gift she had picked up along the way in front of Old Master Sinclair, "This is for you, Grandpa Sinclair."
Old Master Sinclair glanced at the gift wrapping and laughed, "I remember your grandpa treasures this; how did you get it?"
"I didn’t take it from my grandpa’s; I specially got a friend to buy it anew. I remembered you liked it as well."
"Thoughtful, good child." Old Master Sinclair nodded, turning to ask Melanie behind him, "Where’s that ill-mannered girl?"
Melanie looked up and asked Tina, "Where’s my sister-in-law?"
Upon hearing "sister-in-law," Tina’s face darkened but quickly adjusted with an awkward smile, "Miss Lowell seemed to have left already; she headed out shortly after you left. I didn’t know Grandpa Sinclair was looking for her, so I didn’t stop her."
"Such an impolite girl; I don’t know what Maxim is thinking." Old Master Sinclair was clearly displeased as he placed his teacup heavily on the table, "Alright, you all go back now, I need to rest."
The three of them obediently exited the room.
After everyone left, Butler Ford, who came to deliver things today, refilled a teacup and handed it to Old Master Sinclair. "Here’s a new one."
Old Master Sinclair took a sip, sneering, "Everyone playing mind games, daring to do so in front of me."
"But that Miss Lowell...has quite an intriguing personality."
"Intriguing my foot!" Old Master Sinclair spat out the tea leaves, "That troublesome brat Maxim surely used some special means to keep the young lady around him. I’ve met this young girl before; she’s not the type to be impolite."
