Lin Yousu’s smile was sweet and pretty, especially under the glow of the morning sun. From Xiao Nian’s perspective as a fan, this was simply a sight from heaven.
Unfortunately for Lin Yousu, this “heavenly sight” had no such effect on Best Actor Fu.
Fu Sichen was on alert because the former owner of his Persian cat had come up to greet them. He removed the cat from his shoulder and brought Pei Zhen into his arms instead. He said with a cold expression, “His name isn’t Jerry.”
Lin Yousu was stunned for a moment before giving a derisive laugh, “Oh, yes… It seems like he’s called Pei Pei now, or something like that. Haha, I’m just too used to his old name.”
Fu Sichen bit his lower lip, and didn’t reply. While Lin Yousu was still confused, Fu Sichen wordlessly got into the minivan.
Wang Youquan and Xiao Nian followed him into the car. Once they were all in the minivan, Wang Youquan immediately complained to Fu Sichen, “Sichen, Lin Yousu is a new, up and coming actress. No matter what, even if you don’t like talking with her, you should at least be cordial.”
Fu Sichen was reading his script when he heard Wang Youquan say this. He answered with disdain, “Her ulterior motive is to get the Persian cat back. Why do I need to be cordial with her?”
“Uh, why do you think she wants the cat back?” Wang Youquan couldn’t understand what Fu Sichen was thinking.
“She was recalling her memories as Pei Pei’s owner! Wasn’t it very obvious?” Fu Sichen came to a decisive conclusion, “Let’s try to finish filming this morning.”
The two managers and the cat fell into silence.
Forget it, there wasn’t any point in overthinking things. In any case, Best Actor Fu was inexplicably in love with his cat, and there wasn’t anything anybody could do to stop it. His attitude was actually rather touching; it wasn’t something that other people could understand.
Fu Sichen had skipped the event the night before, but his standing in the entertainment circle was undisputed. Hence, the director and the other staff didn’t dare to express any dissatisfaction.
The crew members warmly welcomed Fu Sichen into the studio. They noticed the Persian cat in his arms, and knew that this was Fu Sichen’s rumored beloved pet. They had already improvised a temporary little corner for the kitty.
“This cat is so beautiful! Don’t let him get dirty by sitting on the floor.”
“Best Actor Fu, what brand of cat food does your cat normally eat? I’ll go and buy some right now.”
“Teacher Fu, do you need any cat toys to keep your cat occupied?”
Fu Sichen rejected everybody’s attempt to help with Pei Pei.
However, no matter what, he still had to finish filming. No matter how unwilling Fu Sichen was, he still had to rely on Wang Youquan to take care of the cat. As for Xiao Nian…
Sorry, but cat thieves couldn’t be trusted!
Still, Xiao Nian was an undeniably first-rate manager, so everyone in the film crew knew who he was. After going around to greet everybody, Xiao Nian finally found an opportunity to be alone with Pei Zhen while Wang Youquan was in the bathroom.
Pei Zhen was watching TV on Fu Sichen’s iPad.
“Daddy.” Xiao Nian shut the door behind him. Fu Sichen had his own private resting area. Xiao Nian asked with concern, “After I left last night, were you sullied by Best Actor Fu?”
Pei Zhen looked up and gave Xiao Nian a glance full of disdain.
Last night, not only did he not get tortured, but he had actually been in a rather good mood.
Pei Zhen closed the iPad before narrating boastfully about his new disciple. [Fu Sichen is quite talented. I guess he barely meets my requirements to inherit my legacy.]
“What?” Xiao Nian said, “Best Actor Fu saved all of your old notes?”
Pei Zhen nodded, with a lot of pride in his eyes.
“Huh? No way.” Xiao Nian felt a little embarrassed, “Daddy, your scribbles… Do you really think that Best Actor Fu wants to learn your handwriting?”
Xiao Nian wasn’t trying to mock Pei Zhen. He just felt like his Daddy Pei needed to come back to reality.
Besides Daddy Pei’s signature being slightly decent-looking, his handwriting was simply an insult to the Chinese language!
