Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off-Chapter 436: Four Drunk Husbands and One Curious Wife
Han Jue raised an eyebrow in amusement. "Oh? And what is your name, little boy? How old are you?"
The boy instantly straightened like a soldier being inspected.
"My name is Le Yang!" he announced loudly. "I’m fifteen years old, and I’m already a three-stripe beastman!" 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Han Jue and the others exchanged glances before nodding. The kid was cheerful, bold, and surprisingly talented. Not bad at all.
Hu Yan suddenly laughed and slung an arm around the boy’s shoulders.
"Kid, you’re still too young to chase females," he said smugly. "First, become stronger. Only then can you find someone like your sister Qinglan."
He puffed his own chest proudly.
"When I was your age, I was already four stripes. That’s how I charmed her! If I weren’t strong, my father-in-law would’ve never chosen me for his precious daughter."
He ruffled the boy’s hair with a grin.
"So remember, kid. For every male...strength is the biggest charm."
Han Jue suddenly burst out laughing.
"That’s true. Being powerful is the biggest reason we were given a chance."
Hu Yan nodded proudly, clearly pleased with himself. But then his eyes drifted toward the center of the clearing, and he suddenly snickered.
"Well... mostly."
Han Jue followed his gaze.
Right there, Rong Ye was dancing with Qinglan, his long fox tails swaying lazily behind him while the female laughed softly at something he whispered to her.
Hu Yan clicked his tongue.
"Do you see that shameless fox?"
The boy blinked and looked over.
Hu Yan leaned closer and whispered in a conspiratorial tone, "He was chosen because he has a pretty face. That guy can seduce anyone just by smiling."
Han Jue coughed, clearly trying not to laugh.
"So don’t be like him," Hu Yan added smugly, patting the boy’s shoulder. "Be like us. Depend on strength, not tricks."
Le Yang stared at the dancing fox, completely stunned.
"Oh... so that’s how it works..." he muttered slowly.
Then he frowned a little.
If that fox could rely on his looks... could he rely on his mermaid race instead?
But what if other males looked down on him the same way Brother Han Jue and Brother Hu Yan did?
Le Yang suddenly felt that becoming strong was... very complicated.
Meanwhile in the center of the clearing, Rong Ye and Su Qinglan were still dancing together under the warm firelight.
The flickering flames cast moving shadows across their bodies as they moved with the rhythm of the song.
Su Qinglan laughed brightly while spinning away from him.
"You’re cheating," she said playfully. "You’re using your tails to distract me!"
Rong Ye grinned proudly.
"That’s called natural talent."
Around them, many other couples were dancing happily as well.
The chaotic shouting and clapping filled the air while the tribe celebrated joyfully around the great fire.
But behind them, the four husbands were getting louder and louder.
Hu Yan drank another bowl.
Shi Feng grabbed two at once.
Han Jue tried to stay composed.
Xuan Long remained calm, but he kept drinking steadily.
The young boy watched them with wide eyes filled with awe.
"These land beastmen can really drink so much," he muttered quietly to himself.
Hu Yan suddenly slung an arm around the boy’s shoulders.
"Kid."
"Yes?"
"You want advice about courting females?"
The boy’s eyes sparkled with excitement immediately.
"Yes! Yes, I do!"
Shi Feng leaned forward very seriously.
"Step one," he said while pointing dramatically, "you must bring her food."
Han Jue nodded in agreement.
"Preferably tasty and delicious meat." Xuan Long added calmly in a thoughtful tone. "Fresh fish also works."
Hu Yan raised his bowl confidently. "And drinks!"
The boy nodded furiously while trying to memorize everything. "I understand!"
Hu Yan leaned closer and whispered mysteriously.
"But the most important step..."
The boy leaned in eagerly.
"Yes?"
Hu Yan grinned mischievously. "You have to seduce your female."
The boy froze instantly.
"...That step seems difficult."
The four husbands burst into loud laughter. By now their faces were slightly red from the drink.
Shi Feng suddenly stood up proudly. "I feel amazing!" He immediately sat back down again.
Hu Yan blinked in confusion. "That was fast, why areyou behaving like a lunatic!!"
Meanwhile Rong Ye spun Su Qinglan again while the music continued around them.
But this time Su Qinglan noticed something strange happening nearby.
Su Qinglan stared at her four husbands in disbelief. Something was definitely wrong. Hu Yan and Shi Feng were leaning against each other like two unstable pillars.
Every few seconds they swayed slightly, then corrected themselves with exaggerated seriousness—as if they were trying very hard to appear normal. They were failing miserably.
Hu Yan squinted at the fire like he was studying some deep philosophical mystery. "Hmm..." he murmured.
Shi Feng leaned closer to him. "What are you looking at?"
Hu Yan pointed very solemnly. "The fire."
Shi Feng gasped softly. "You’re right."
Then both of them continued staring at it with extreme focus.
Beside them, Han Jue had one elbow on his knee and his head tilted slightly to the side. His normally sharp eyes looked unfocused, as if the world had suddenly become very confusing.
Xuan Long was sitting straight like always... but the small smile on his face had not disappeared for a very long time.
That was deeply suspicious.
Su Qinglan blinked. Then blinked again.
She slowly turned back to Rong Ye. "...What happened to them?"
Rong Ye followed her gaze. He immediately covered his mouth. His shoulders started shaking.
"Oh no," he muttered.
Su Qinglan narrowed her eyes. "What?"
But before Rong Ye could answer, the young boy beside them spoke hesitantly.
"I... I think they are drunk."
Su Qinglan looked at him. "Drunk?"
Le Yang nodded nervously. "They drank many bowls of fermented palm sap."
Su Qinglan tilted her head. "Fermented... palm sap?"
She had never heard of such a thing. Her curiosity immediately rose. "What is it?"
The boy scratched his head awkwardly. "It’s... uh... a drink."
Hu Yan suddenly raised his bowl proudly without even looking. "The best drink!"
Shi Feng raised his bowl too. "The strongest drink!"
Han Jue nodded slowly. "...A very dangerous drink."
Xuan Long smiled peacefully. "A pleasant drink."
Su Qinglan frowned. Now she was even more curious.
She reached over and grabbed Hu Yan’s bowl before he could react.
Hu Yan gasped in horror. "My bowl!" But she had already lifted it to her lips.
Rong Ye’s eyes widened instantly. "Wait...!" Too late. Su Qinglan already took a sip.
