Clinging to Devoted Fiancé, Heiress Slays the World!-Chapter 670: Saying No with the Lips, But the Body Tells the Truth
The man frowned slightly, his features cold and refined, excessively handsome, exuding an air of elegance yet detachment. He wore a white shirt and black trousers, the cuffs of his shirt rolled up to his elbows, revealing his fair and slender arms.
The exquisite watch on his wrist and the metallic sheen of the belt buckle on his black trousers spoke volumes about his status and privilege.
Ji Wei stared blankly at Gu Moqian, suddenly forgetting what she was about to say.
Her head felt dizzy, her eyes hazy and confused, as she unabashedly sized up the man.
Had she drunk too much? Was she hallucinating?
The man in front of her—was it Gu Moqian?
No, it couldn’t be. He had avoided her countless times, so how could he possibly be here?
"Ha, I must’ve drunk too much to mistake you for my husband. Haha..." Ji Wei mumbled to herself, holding her forehead, a self-deprecating smile tugging at her lips.
After readjusting her seat, she suddenly spoke again, "Driver, please take me to the Shanshui Manor villa."
Gu Moqian: "..."
First, she mistook him for a trafficker, and now he was reduced to a driver.
Ji Wei clutched her aching head, leaned against the car window, closed her eyes in discomfort, and fell silent.
Gu Moqian’s gaze lingered on her flushed face for quite a while.
Noticing a few stray locks of her hair falling across her face, he inexplicably reached out, intending to tuck them behind her ear.
But halfway there, his hand froze in midair, slowly clenched, and then helplessly dropped back down.
His eyes returned to their usual aloofness as Gu Moqian placed both hands on the steering wheel and drove the car forward.
When the car reached Shanshui Manor, he stepped out first and opened the car door for Ji Wei.
"We’re here," he said coolly.
Ji Wei climbed out of the car, raising her drunken gaze to look at the familiar villa gate, her disoriented eyes briefly freezing.
"Not going in yet?" Gu Moqian, seeing her remain rooted in place, asked coldly.
Ji Wei shook her head slowly, "I can’t go in just like this. An An will be upset if he smells the alcohol on me."
At the mention of her son, Gu Moqian’s face stiffened slightly.
Ji Wei walked over and leaned against the ornate iron gate, muttering to herself, "I’ll wait here for a while; I’ll go in after I sober up."
Gu Moqian’s dark eyes betrayed no emotion as he approached her. "Go inside first and then worry about it."
"I can’t let my son see me drunk," Ji Wei stubbornly shook her head.
"Listen to me."
"No! You’re not anyone important to me. Why should I listen to you?" Ji Wei shot back, pouting as she stared at him.
Gu Moqian’s gaze darkened, his face suddenly leaning dangerously close to hers.
Instinctively, Ji Wei raised her hands to push him away. "Go away! Stop meddling with me..."
Gu Moqian’s expression remained cold and unmoved.
Ji Wei suddenly felt her body becoming weightless. Shocked, she realized she was being carried by the man.
"Put me down! Put me down right now!" Ji Wei shouted in panic.
"Are you sure about that?"
Gu Moqian looked down at the woman in his arms.
As he spoke, he loosened his grip ever so slightly, and Ji Wei felt her body sinking abruptly. Terrified, she quickly clung to his neck.
Her words said no, but her actions were oddly honest.
Gu Moqian let out a light snort, carrying Ji Wei swiftly into the villa.
Her head was spinning, and somewhere along the way, her forehead ended up resting against Gu Moqian’s chest.
She began to ramble again, "Is it true that all men change their hearts? All those pledges and flowery words, and then suddenly, they treat you like a stranger."
"..."
"Sick of the homegrown flowers, and the wild ones outside seem so much sweeter? Men are nothing but scoundrels!"
