Chapter 640: Chapter 640: You Want a Divorce?!

Ji Wei’s eyes were filled with shock, her entire body seemingly frozen in place.

The words repeated endlessly in her ears: He won’t be coming back for now.

She opened her mouth, trying to speak, but her voice got stuck in her throat. No matter how much she moved her lips, no sound came out.

"Old Mo must be caught up with something... don’t feel too sad." Xi Nanfeng wasn’t good at comforting people and didn’t know what else to say.

Ji Wei forced herself to hold back the tears in her eyes. After a long struggle, she hoarsely asked, "How long is ’for now’?" Her voice trembled, and as soon as she said it, it felt as though all the strength in her body had been drained.

"One year, two years... maybe even longer."

Xi Nanfeng’s words brought a heavy silence to the hospital room.

Ji Wei stared at Xi Nanfeng, as if she couldn’t understand the meaning behind his words.

The room became so quiet that even a pin drop could be heard.

It was unclear how much time passed before Ji Wei suddenly yanked out the IV needle from the back of her hand. The hurried motion caused a bead of blood to form where the needle had been removed, but she paid it no mind.

Immediately afterward, Ji Wei threw off the blanket and slid her bare feet into the slippers by the bed.

Seeing her about to leave, Xi Nanfeng quickly grabbed her. "Ji Wei, where are you going?"

"Back to Shanshui Manor to pack. I’m going to find him." Ji Wei pulled her hand away, her tone unnaturally calm.

"Ji Wei, calm down first. A flight to Britain takes at least fifteen hours. You’re pregnant—it’s not suitable for you to be on a plane for that long. You—"

Ji Wei suddenly interrupted him, "I have to go." 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

Not giving Xi Nanfeng any chance to stop her, she strode rapidly towards the door of the hospital room.

Qin Sixue was sitting in the corridor outside, waiting. When she lifted her eyes and saw Ji Wei walking out in a hospital gown and slippers, she quickly stood up and walked over.

"Sister Wei, are you leaving the hospital?"

Ji Wei glanced at her once, then continued walking forward.

Xi Nanfeng quickly caught up to her, his expression grave. "Fine, if you’re determined to go to Britain, then I’ll go with you. If anything happens to you, I won’t be able to answer to Old Mo."

Ji Wei looked at him with a pale face but did not object.

Xi Nanfeng turned his head and said to Qin Sixue, "You take her back to Shanshui Manor to pack her things. I’ll handle the rest."

Qin Sixue nodded quickly.

"Sister Wei, I’ll take you back." She moved forward and took Ji Wei’s arm, and the two of them walked together towards the elevator.

Xi Nanfeng stood at a distance, watching their figures disappear into the elevator before finally retrieving his gaze.

He exhaled heavily, took out his phone, and dialed a number.

"What is it?" The voice of the man on the other end was exceptionally tired and hoarse.

"Old Mo, Ji Wei is coming to find you. I couldn’t stop her." Xi Nanfeng spoke bluntly, his tone serious.

There was a long silence on the other end of the line before Gu Moqian’s response finally came: "I’ll send over the divorce papers. You can pass them on to her for me."

"Old Mo, are you out of your damn mind?!"

Xi Nanfeng hadn’t expected to receive such a response. In an instant, he erupted in anger. "What exactly are you trying to do? Don’t you love Ji Wei deeply? Wasn’t she the one you were willing to die for? And now you’re telling me you want a divorce!"

"Not to mention, Ji Wei is carrying your child. If you divorce her now, you’re going to destroy her completely!"

"She won’t be destroyed." Gu Moqian’s voice was hoarse, distant. "She’s strong. She won’t let herself fall apart."

Xi Nanfeng sneered out of sheer rage. "If Ji Wei really decides she doesn’t want to live anymore, don’t expect me to stop her for your sake!"
