Chapter 603: Chapter 603: If You Have the Ability, Keep Me Locked Up for Life!

Jin Xin had been confined in the hotel for an entire day. It was only when she saw the daylight outside the window that she weakly crawled out of bed.

She had already searched the room thoroughly, but aside from water, there was nothing to eat. Her stomach growled with hunger. Helpless, she twisted open the bottled water and gulped down several mouthfuls.

Suddenly, she heard a clicking sound from the door, followed by the sound of someone pushing it open.

Seeing Ji Wei and Gu Moqian walk in, Jin Xin was visibly stunned.

Due to Gu Moqian’s presence, she didn’t dare to verbally abuse Ji Wei, but her eyes glared at Ji Wei with intense hostility, utterly embodying the feeling of suppressed anger.

Following closely behind the two was a hotel staff member wheeling in a breakfast trolley.

When the aroma of the food wafted through the air, Jin Xin instinctively rushed over, grabbed a piece of bread from the trolley, and stuffed it into her mouth without caring about her image. After eating half of the bread, she picked up the milk, took a few sips, then began devouring a sandwich.

Ji Wei couldn’t help but chuckle as she watched Jin Xin wolf down the food.

She really is just a little girl.

"What are you laughing at?" Jin Xin turned her head upon noticing Ji Wei’s laughter, immediately glaring and questioning her.

"You eat quite adorably. Can’t I laugh?" Ji Wei said with a smirk.

Jin Xin wanted to retort something, but when she caught sight of the cold and chilling look in Gu Moqian’s eyes beside her, she instinctively shrank back and didn’t dare to talk back.

The food on the trolley was quickly devoured by Jin Xin, and the staff wheeled the trolley out of the room.

Jin Xin stroked her stomach in satisfaction and plopped herself onto the sofa. She looked up at the two standing before her and said, "Are you here to gawk at me? Do you think that locking me up will stop me from writing my reports? Let me tell you, there’s no way I’ll stop exposing social injustices! Anyway, it’s free food and board here. If you have the guts, why don’t you just lock me up forever?"

Since there was no escape, Jin Xin decided to embrace her defiance.

"Do you still want to let her go? I think she seems quite content being locked up here," Gu Moqian remarked coldly, wrapping his arm around Ji Wei’s waist as he stared at Jin Xin with an icy gaze.

"You’ve got a point."

Ji Wei smirked slightly.

Hearing this, Jin Xin’s heart skipped a beat. So they actually came here to release her?

Damn it, she had just dug her own grave with her attitude!

"We’re leaving."

Gu Moqian pulled Ji Wei close and turned to leave. Jin Xin quickly shouted after them, "Weren’t you going to let me go? What’s the meaning of this, just walking away?"

"Miss Jin herself said she quite likes it here. Naturally, we wouldn’t want to go against her wishes," Ji Wei retorted with a smile, glancing back.

Jin Xin’s face instantly flushed red. Begrudgingly, she admitted, "This place isn’t good at all! Just let me go. I need to get back to work."

"Letting you go is doable. But you’ll have to agree to one condition," Ji Wei replied nonchalantly.

Jin Xin eyed her cautiously. "W-What condition?"

"Be my assistant for a few days."

Jin Xin’s eyes widened in disbelief as she stared at Ji Wei.

Seriously? She’s a top journalism graduate, and they want her to be the little errand runner for some spoiled, ill-tempered heiress?

"I refuse," Jin Xin said resolutely.

She still had no clue what Ji Wei’s ulterior motive was, but she wasn’t about to fall for it!

"Oh, that’s fine then,"

Ji Wei maintained her faint smile and turned back to Gu Moqian, saying, "Mo Qian, let’s go. Since the rent for this Presidential Suite has been paid for the whole month, it’d be a shame not to make full use of it."

A whole month of confinement!

Jin Xin’s expression changed drastically. She jumped up from her seat, rushing after them, but was stopped by the bodyguards at the door.

"I’ll do it! I’ll be your assistant! Now will you let me out?" Seeing the pair continuing to walk away, Jin Xin yelled desperately.

Ji Wei turned back with a faint smile and asked, "What if you go back on your word after we let you out?"
