Clinging to Devoted Fiancé, Heiress Slays the World!-Chapter 601: His woman, only needs to be responsible for having a smile as radiant as blooming flowers
Mo Qian said, "Hot noodle soup."
"Sure, I haven’t had noodles in such a long time, and I was just craving them tonight." The woman looked at him with a particularly expectant gaze, making Mo Qian unable to refuse. He could only smile and nod.
Aunt Zhu saw Mo Qian walk into the kitchen and directly take ingredients out of the fridge, while Ji Wei stood behind him, covering her mouth and laughing quietly. Understanding the situation, Aunt Zhu tactfully stepped away to give the couple some space.
"Mo Qian, let me help you wash the vegetables."
Ji Wei rolled up her sleeves to grab the greens, but Mo Qian stopped her. He gently pushed her out of the kitchen and settled her on the sofa, saying, "Mrs. Gu doesn’t need to do anything; just sit back and wait for the noodles."
Ji Wei simply smiled at him, her eyes curving joyfully into crescents.
Mo Qian couldn’t help but be infected by her mood, a faint curve appearing at the corners of his lips.
He was willing to block all the malicious rumors targeting her, just to protect a smile like this.
His woman only needed to keep her smile radiant like a blooming flower.
Mo Qian returned to the kitchen.
Ji Wei hugged a cushion, leaning against the sofa as she quietly watched his upright white-clad back. The man moved gracefully and skillfully before the counter, busy preparing noodles for her.
Ji Wei suddenly felt her eyes becoming warm, and the smile on her lips never faded.
But just as the noodles weren’t yet ready, an unexpected guest arrived.
"Madam, may I ask who you’re looking for?"
Ji Wei heard Aunt Zhu’s voice and turned to see a middle-aged woman standing at the doorway.
In the crook of her arm hung a camel-colored trench coat; she wore a matching turtleneck sweater, and in her hand, she carried a luxury-brand bag. Her every posture exuded the charm of a mature woman with an elegant and noble air.
The woman glanced around the living room and finally rested her gaze on Ji Wei. She smiled faintly and said, "You must be Mo Qian’s wife, right? I’m his aunt. Do you remember me?"
Ji Wei certainly remembered.
At Old Madam Gu’s birthday banquet last time, Gu Zhizhou had introduced her to his only sister, Gu Zhimin. The two had exchanged only a few brief pleasantries.
Ji Wei quickly stood up to greet her. "Aunt, please have a seat."
Aunt Zhu brewed some hot tea for Gu Zhimin before retreating to the side.
"Are you here to see Mo Qian?" Ji Wei asked.
"Yes, I have a matter to discuss." Gu Zhimin gave a faint smile and replied.
"He’s in the kitchen cooking noodles; I’ll go call him—"
Ji Wei had just started to walk when Gu Zhimin stopped her. "No need. If he’s busy, I can wait."
Gu Zhimin glanced casually toward the kitchen at the figure inside.
It was her first time seeing her nephew in the kitchen; it seemed he truly doted on this wife of his.
Gu Zhimin picked up the tea cup for a sip, smiling as she remarked, "My nephew seems to take really good care of you. But that’s how it should be for a woman who’s pregnant. The better your state, the better it is for the baby."
"Yes, I wanted to help him in the kitchen, but he wouldn’t let me." Despite her words carrying an air of complaint, Ji Wei’s brows and eyes were brimming with happiness.
"Mo Qian has always been cold by nature. This is the first time I’ve seen him care so deeply for anyone." Gu Zhimin set down her tea cup and suddenly changed the topic. "Actually, I came today to apologize to Miss Ji."
Ji Wei was surprised. "Why would you apologize to me?"
"It’s my fault for not managing Xiao Xin properly. She caused trouble again." The moment Gu Zhimin finished her sentence, Mo Qian walked out of the kitchen holding a steaming bowl of noodles.
Seeing Gu Zhimin, his expression instantly turned cold.
"Mo Qian, Aunt is here," Ji Wei said as she walked toward him.
Mo Qian merely cast Gu Zhimin a glance before taking Ji Wei’s hand and leading her to the dining room. "Try this and see if it’s to your liking."
He pulled out a chair for her, and Ji Wei sat down to take a few slurps of the noodles, exclaiming, "These are so good!"
"Then eat some more."
Mo Qian patted the top of her head, his gaze softening once again. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
Gu Zhimin walked over at this moment, and seeing that she seemed to have something to say to Mo Qian, Ji Wei quickly said, "Mo Qian, Aunt is here to see you. Go have a chat."
Mo Qian’s eyes darkened slightly. "Alright. Be good and eat. I’ll be back in a little while."
Ji Wei nodded repeatedly, chewing on her noodles.
