Clan Prosperity Starting With My Servant Girls-Chapter 358: To Wan Shou Fang!
"This is..." Lin Xuan Qi took a bite out of the soy sauce chicken that Yue Xin had made and he frowned.
"How is it?" Yue Xin waited with her hand in front of her chest impatiently for his verdict on the chicken.
She twitched her mouth, not knowing whether he was teasing her again.
Liu Shi Shi came to her rescue and said, "Don’t worry too much. It’s great."
She said and had another mouthful of the soy sauce chicken.
Yue Xin let out a sigh of relief when she heard Liu Shi Shi.
Both of them glanced over at Lin Xuan Qi with their pouted lips.
Lin Xuan Qi shrugged and said, "I was just trying to lighten up the mood."
He said and gave Yue Xin a smile, holding onto her hand while his other hand moved onto Liu Shi Shi’s long slender legs.
It had been a tiring day for him, but thankfully, everything had been settled by them.
The house was cleaned up with most of the areas free from dust.
Furniture was arranged according to his liking, and things like bed sheets and blankets were changed.
Even the lodging for the guards had been taken care of.
"So, where do we sleep tonight?" Lin Xuan Qi pretended that he wanted to go to bed and asked.
Yue Xin took in a deep breath and startled for a moment.
She started to have an imaginary battle within her mind.
Thoughts about helping him while her sister wasn’t around flooded her mind, but she didn’t know if it was appropriate.
She wasn’t married to him yet, and it would be considered forbidden for her to do so.
Some young masters liked the thrill of it, but she was sure that Lin Xuan Qi wasn’t one of them.
Being young, her raging hormones did much of the wild imagining for her.
Liu Shi Shi was relatively calm.
She had just been teased by him and wouldn’t fall for it once again.
"Yue Xin. Yue Xin. What are you thinking about?" Lin Xuan Qi frowned when he saw her face flustered again.
"Oh, I was thinking about whether I had already laid the bed sheet for your room." Yue Xin snapped out of it and replied.
She pointed in a direction and said, "The bedrooms are over there."
"Great, I will go and write the contracts, wash up and rest for the night." Lin Xuan Qi said, and he got up from where he was and headed in the direction of the bedrooms.
Both Yue Xin and Liu Shi Shi thought that it was rare for him to do rest so early, but they figured that it must have been the drinking during the day that made him tired.
They let him be and continued their dinner.
Lin Xuan Qi went to his bedroom, wrote the contracts for the dealership, washed up and got into bed, patiently waiting for nightfall to come.
Finally, when it got dark, Lin Xuan Qi woke up and changed into black clothes.
He took the ten taels of gold and some taels of silver he had and waited for the right opportunity.
The silhouettes of the guards appeared on the windows and he waited.
After the guards passed by, he tiptoed to the door quietly and opened it slowly.
He peered out of the door, and when he saw that the guards had gone away, he quickly got out of his room, closing the door behind him.
Lin Xuan Qi wasted no time and immediately ran towards the wall of the house.
When he got near to the side wall that led to one of the streets, he directed his Five-Element Qi from his dantian to his legs.
A burst of energy filled his legs and he lowered his knee, getting ready to make a leap.
Whoosh.
He kicked onto the ground with all he had and was catapulted into the air.
His figure darted through the darkness of the night like an arrow.
It was the first time he had tried doing so, and he had used too much of his strength.
Fortunately, he didn’t overshoot by too much, and it was enough for him to leap over the wall and land safely.
Thud.
After he landed outside of the wall, he started walking as if he was just passing by.
The streets were empty except for the stray cats that were lying by the side.
They weren’t bothered by him, taking a glance at him before going back to sleep.
Lin Xuan Qi got to the end of the street and began to walk towards the direction of Wan Shou Fang.
Along the way, he could see how prosperous it was compared to Hong Feng City.
Vendors hawking their wares or food were still abundant everywhere in the main streets.
Pedestrians with their friends and families were out strolling or shopping.
It made him realize what the phrase "the mountain is high and the emperor is far away" meant.
The rebellion of the peasants in Hong Feng City was like a fever dream compared to what he was witnessing in Bian Jing.
...
It didn’t take him too long and he reached Fu Lu Inn.
More and more people dressed in cultivation robes were heading towards where he was going. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
And among them, there were vastly different groups.
Some were most likely from big clans or sects, with an aura of righteousness around them, walking with their heads high and their swords in hand.
Others were rogue cultivators, walking alone, which Lin Xuan Qi had heard about.
They didn’t have access to resources like Spirit Stones compared to those in a big clan or sect, so they had to go by the rule of the jungle.
Life and death could happen quickly for them out in the wilderness when they tried to harvest Spirit Stones or obtain Artifacts by any means possible.
All of these rogue cultivators were looking around constantly, as if they were searching for prey.
Lin Xuan Qi knew better than to be in their crosshairs, and he tried to keep a low profile.
It worked, as the rogue cultivators thought that he was one of them.
His plain black clothes made him look poor and without resources.
