Chapter 241: To the Seaside!

The servant girl Xiu had been capable and was able to accomplish all the tasks Xue Cong had given her.

Xiu quickly bowed at Xue Cong and said, "Don’t worry, Mistress Xue Cong, I will get it done as usual."

Lin Xuan Qi saw what happened and passed the piece of paper to Xiu.

He was glad to see that Xue Cong had someone whom she could trust the important tasks with.

As the clan got bigger, it wouldn’t be possible soon for them to be able to know everything like how they were used to.

Xue Cong was doing the right thing to be able to delegate.

When Madam Sai saw that it was settled, she stood up, waved her handkerchief excitedly and said, "Then, I shall not intrude any further.

"I will be back the day before the wedding to check on everything.

"Thanks, Master Lin and congratulations to you and your brides once again."

She said and gave a bow to Lin Xuan Qi, Xue Cong, and Yue Jie.

Xue Cong and Yue Jie returned the bow.

Lin Xuan Qi stood up, came up to her with a piece of silver in his hand and said, "Thanks so much for all the help, Madam Sai.

"Please take this as a token of appreciation."

Madam Sai wanted to push back his hand in the usual ritual of being nice, but she realized soon that his strength was much more than she had expected.

His hand didn’t move an inch when she tried to do so.

In the end, she could only smile awkwardly and accept the piece of silver from Lin Xuan Qi.

After Madam Sai had left, Lin Xuan Qi turned around and said, "And since everything is settled, it’s time we have a little break.

"As promised, let’s take a trip to the seaside."

He said with a huge smile.

There were two more days before the next batch of soap hardened and, in the meantime, they could venture to the seaside to enjoy the downtime.

Lin Xuan Qi wanted to make use of the opportunity to see if there was Kelp around the sea in the area.

And since he would be by the seaside, he might as well bring them out for some fresh air.

It had been a while since they had ventured out of the city.

Everything had stabilized and with his cultivation level now, he didn’t have too many concerns about security this time.

Yue Xin was the first one to react to the good news.

She stood up from her chair immediately and said, "Great, what do we need to prepare for the trip? I’ll get it done in a few moments."

As a young mistress previously, she had no chance of venturing out to the seaside even though it was so close to the city.

She was eager to see how it was after hearing about it so many times from Lin Xuan Qi.

Yue Jie frowned and said, "Master Lin didn’t say that it was today..."

But Lin Xuan Qi saw how enthusiastic Yue Xin was and he said, "Might as well do it today since everyone is in such a good mood."

Xue Cong got worried and said, "But the mansion..."

She stopped herself when she recalled what he had told her yesterday.

"Xiu, take care of everything while I’m away." She turned her head and said to Xiu.

Xiu gave her a nod and replied, "I shall not disappoint you, Mistress Xue Cong."

Seeing that both Xue Cong and Yue Xin had agreed to it, Yue Jie decided to agree to it too.

Lin Xuan Qi was glad, and he glanced over at Liu Shi Shi who was standing by the side all this while.

Liu Shi Shi shrugged her shoulders and said, "I will get the guards to come with us."

He smiled at her for her understanding.

She had changed a lot to his liking, but he knew that she was doing this for him.

It was best for him to fulfill his promise to Yue Xin and Liu Shi Shi soon after the wedding with Xue Cong and Yue Jie.

Lin Xuan Qi started to list the things they should bring with them.

Zhi Yong also got excited, and he helped Yue Xin get the servants to load them up onto the horse carriage.

He had asked them to bring food, water, some pails, and shovels.

Xue Cong and the others didn’t know what the pails and shovels were for, but they just did what they were told.

Master Lin always had some weird ideas that turned out to be fun.

And so, when they were ready, Lin Xuan Qi moved off with him and the girls inside the horse carriage and with Zhi Yong and Lee He Song to stay on alert outside of it.

Along the way, he could see that the city was bustling again.

Pedestrians and hawkers were going on with their busy lives.

There were even fewer beggars and needy on the streets this time.

Things had started to get back to how it was.

...

It didn’t take that long for them to reach the coastal town of Bai Sha near Hong Feng City, and it was a different sight for Yue Jie and Yue Xin.

Even the air smelled different.

There was a tinge of saltiness that was everywhere.

An experience they’d never had before in the city.

Everyone in the town was busy hawking some seafood from the sea.

Men carried fishes tied up in hemp rope coming back from their morning catch and women sat by their doorsteps with baskets that had lots of small fishes and clams inside.

They were busy picking out the fish and clams from the basket, putting them into different ones.

Yue Xin peered out from the window of the horse carriage and enjoyed the sight and scenes of the streets.

Her sister Yue Jie was also excited but peered out from the window behind her.

It was what Lin Xuan Qi had expected a coastal town to be like.

The horse carriage stopped at an inn, and they alighted from it.

When the innkeeper saw them, he smiled at them and said, "Welcome young master. What an honor to have you here in our small town."

He quickly gestured for his men to help take care of the horse carriage.
