Chapter 264: 264- Feng Family [4]

Feng Lishen stumbled out from the wreckage.

His robes were in tatters, half his hair burned away, his chest caved in where his own artifact had exploded against him.

He wheezed, but his eyes blazed with murderous fury.

"You..." His voice was hoarse, every word dragged out through bloodied lips. "You dare destroy my family’s heirloom!"

Fang Yuan lowered his hand, sword tilting at his side.

His voice was lazy as he replied , "That wasn’t me, it’s not my fault that you kept hiding like a rat inside that toy."

Feng Lishen spat a mouthful of blood onto the cracked floor, the droplets sizzling as they hit the ground.

He straightened himself as his face twisted, veins bulging against his temples.

With a guttural roar he bit down on a jet-black pill, the crunch audible even through the cacophony of battle.

A bitter, metallic scent filled the air as the powder dissolved instantly on his tongue.

His chest convulsed. His wings snapped wide, feathers tearing away only to regrow larger, darker, veined with streaks of crimson light.

His blood surged like a river of molten iron, flooding his meridians with power too wild for his frame.

Flesh split across his arms as raw muscle swelled unnaturally.

His bones crackled like breaking branches, lengthening, thickening, reforging under the strain.

He doubled over, snarling, before throwing back his head in a deafening howl.

The tattoo of the Yinglong dragon on his back writhed as if alive, its serpentine coils igniting in blazing scarlet.

The dragon’s eyes glowed with murderous hunger, exuding an aura that pressed down on the battlefield like a stormcloud ready to burst.

Blood mist gushed from his pores, wreathing him in a grotesque halo.

The ground beneath his feet fractured in a spiderweb pattern, stone sinking under the sheer weight of his aura.

His eyes turned fully crimson, pupils narrowing into vertical slits.

"Fang Yuan!" he roared, voice distorted, echoing like a beast’s bellow. "Bear witness to the full might of the Feng clan’s bloodline!"

He spread his wings wide, now edged with condensed qi and beat them once.

The shockwave shredded the corpses around him into pulp, spraying gore across the already blood-soaked battlefield.

His aura ballooned violently, oppressive and primal.

He launched forward, every step leaving gouged craters in the earth, claws flexing and fangs bared.

Feng Lishen’s wings snapped once, hurling his massive body forward like a crimson meteor.

He swung his claws toward Fang Yuan’s chest, moving at lighting speed.

Fang Yuan’s fingers twitched in response, his lips curving into the faintest smile.

Golden Shell Armor, First Form: Cowardice!

A blinding flare erupted from his body, golden light bursting forth and solidifying into a radiant cocoon around him.

The claws smashed against it and made a deafening sound.

BOOM!

Sparks flew in violent showers, scattering across the shattered tiles.

The sheer force drove Fang Yuan half a step into the ground, the earth beneath him splitting open with jagged cracks that spread like spiderwebs.

Yet the shell remained unbroken, its golden sheen pulsing steadily with each ripple of impact.

The shockwave didn’t spare the others.

Two Feng elders standing too close were torn apart by the residual force, their screams cut short as their bodies shredded under Lishen’s berserk aura.

Blood mist painted the golden shell, dripping down its surface like rain on a temple bell.

Inside, Fang Yuan narrowed his eyes. He could feel his spirit qi draining away in thick gulps.

Even so, his expression didn’t waver.

Instead, he raised his head, meeting Feng Lishen’s crimson glare with a calm, almost mocking smile.

"Is that all you got?"

Feng Lishen roared and swiped again, his wings slashing like giant blades. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

He compressed his killing intent into the next strike, channeling it into a precise blow aimed directly at Fang Yuan’s neck.

Golden Shell Armor, Second Form: Bravery!

This time, the golden light didn’t flare across Fang Yuan’s whole body, it concentrated into a sharp crescent at his throat, blocking the exact point of contact.

Lishen’s claws screeched against the focused shield, unable to pierce through, sparks cascading like molten fire.

Undeterred, Feng Lishen unleashed a flurry of strikes, talons, wings, elbows, even his tail whipping forward, each one aimed to tear Fang Yuan apart.

Golden light flickered at every point of impact, his side, his ribs, his knees, his forearm.

Fang Yuan moved little, conserving qi by letting the second form intercept wherever the berserk elder struck.

The rhythm was steady, defensive, like an unyielding wall meeting a raging tide.

But then Feng Lishen gathered himself, qi surging into his wings.

He spun like a crimson vortex and slammed both wings down with devastating force.

The very air imploded, forming a shock dome of destructive energy.

Fang Yuan didn’t hesitate as he muttered once again,

Golden Shell Armor, First Form: Cowardice.

The full-body shield erupted once more, swallowing him in golden light as the storm crushed everything in a hundred-pace radius.

The nearby Feng elders screamed as they were caught in the maelstrom, their bodies snapping like twigs before being ground into bloody paste.

The ground cratered, corpses scattered like rag dolls.

Inside, Fang Yuan could feel his spiritual qi drained with each attacks.

Without any hesitation, he took out a hollow Spirit pill and bit down hard on it.

The pill spilled into his mouth, dissolving instantly as a surge of qi flooded into his dantian, replenishing his qi reserve, preparing him for a battle of tenacity.

Across from him, Feng Lishen panted, face twisted in fury.

His crimson eyes flared with rage as he bellowed, "You dare—Fang Yuan! You think you can hide behind that shell forever?! Do you take me for a fool?! FIGHT ME!"

His veins bulged, blood mist thickening until it boiled.

Each strike from here forward carried not just intent to kill, but to utterly annihilate the man who dared defend against him instead of kneeling to him.

His movements grew wilder, heavier, more reckless, his roars shaking the battlefield like thunder rolling through a storm.

Fang Yuan only stood there in golden light, lips curling into a faint smile as he watched the Feng patriach lose himself to anger.
