Georgia’s POV

Vicky and I headed to the bridal boutique with Katie and Amara in tow for the final fitting of the flower girl and bridesmaid dresses. The moment we stepped inside, I spotted Ella, Bella, and Bella’s eldest daughter already standing by the mirror, admiring the little girl’s gown.

"Sorry, we’re late!" I said with a little laugh as the girls turned toward us. "Katie, this is Vienna," I said, gesturing to Bella’s daughter. "She’s the other flower girl—you’ll be walking together at the wedding."

Katie’s eyes brightened as she approached Vienna. The two girls smiled shyly at first, then within seconds were chatting like old friends, giggling over something only kids seemed to understand.

Bella smiled warmly at the sight. "Her gown fits perfectly. We’re all so excited to see her on the big day—it’s her first time being part of an entourage."

"I’m excited for Katie, too," I replied. "She got sick the last time she was supposed to join the wedding, so this will be her first as well."

Vicky placed her hands together dramatically. "Oh, they’re going to look absolutely adorable walking down that aisle together—I can already picture it!"

I laughed and gestured toward the row of dresses hanging neatly nearby. "Alright, you two, go check your dresses. I just want to make sure everything flows perfectly on the day."

"That’s why you should try on yours as well," said a familiar voice behind me. We all turned to see Candice stepping into the boutique, her energy filling the room instantly.

"Sorry, I’m late," she added with a grin. "Had to pick up the rest of the bridesmaids." And right behind her came a few of my college friends, waving and calling out cheerful greetings.

Candice handed her bag to one of her assistants, then linked her arm with mine before I could even protest. "Alright, Miss Bride," she said mischievously, pulling me toward the private fitting room where my gown awaited. "Time to try the dress!"

I could feel my heart skip a beat as I glanced toward the fitting area. Seeing my gown hanging there—elegant, glowing under the soft boutique lights—made everything suddenly feel real. Candice clapped her hands with excitement, and I couldn’t help but laugh. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

"Okay," I said, taking a deep breath. "Let’s do this."

With Candice’s help and the shop manager fussing around me, I finally slipped into my wedding gown—though the moment the zipper refused to move any higher, I knew there was a little problem.

"Uh-oh," Candice murmured, squinting at the back of the dress as she struggled with the zipper. "Are you sure this is the right measurement?" she asked, glancing at the shop manager, who looked equally puzzled.

"I’m certain it is," the manager replied quickly. "But let me call the seamstress to double-check."

A few moments later, the seamstress appeared, tape measure draped around her neck and notebook in hand. She gave me a polite smile before getting to work, taking quick, precise measurements and comparing them to her notes.

"Well," she said after a beat, looking up with a knowing smile. "It’s the right measurement. It seems our beautiful bride has gained a little weight. Nothing drastic—but your hips and bust did grow a bit. Don’t worry, I can fix that."

Candice burst out laughing. "I knew it! You’ve been eating a lot, haven’t you?"

I let out a sheepish laugh. "Guilty. But starting today, no more sweets! I’ll behave until the wedding day."

The seamstress chuckled softly as she continued taking my new measurements. "If you can resist sweets until then, the dress will fit perfectly again. But even if not, I’ll make sure it does."

Candice grinned at me in the mirror. "Honestly, I was so surprised. During your food tasting, you devoured everything. I was in awe! How can someone with your body eat that much and still look this good?"

I laughed and rolled my eyes. "That was different! The food tasting was a special occasion. But fine, I admit—lately, with everything going on, I’ve been stress-eating a lot more than I should. I’ll stop now."

Well... maybe tomorrow. I still had that cheesecake I bought earlier, and it would be such a waste not to eat it, right?

Once we were done adjusting, Candice helped me step out of the gown carefully. Despite the hiccup, everyone else’s dresses fit perfectly—Ella’s, Vicky’s, and the rest of the bridesmaids, even the flower girls’ little gowns.

I couldn’t help but laugh at myself. "I was the one lecturing everyone about making sure everything runs smoothly, and yet here I am—the bride—whose dress needs fixing."

Candice just smiled and handed me a glass of water. "That’s what makes it memorable, though. No wedding journey is complete without at least one funny fitting story."

I had to agree—this one was definitely going down in the memory books.

After the fitting, I sent Katie home with Amara and some of the bodyguards while Vicky, Ella, and I headed straight to the farm to finish our final review.

Tomorrow, I’d be presenting the system to the Knight Fleet Maritime board members and executives—a huge project that Vicky and Ella were both pushing to install across all the ships. It was an ambitious step, and we wanted to make sure every little detail was ready before the vote.

By the time we wrapped up, the sun had long set, and dinner had come and gone. When I finally got home, the penthouse was quiet and warmly lit. Nick was sitting on the sofa, laptop open on his lap, earbuds in, brows furrowed in deep focus. He didn’t even notice me coming in.

I tiptoed toward him and planted a soft kiss on his cheek. He immediately removed his earbuds and looked up at me, a slow smile replacing his serious expression.

"What took you so long?" he asked in that low, teasing tone that made my heart melt.

"I just wanted to make sure I won’t mess up tomorrow’s presentation," I said, setting my bag down on the coffee table.

Nick closed his laptop and leaned back against the sofa, his gaze softening. "You won’t mess up. But even if you do, I’ll be there to catch you—always."
