City's Best Divine Doctor-Chapter 1407 - 1406: Back to Chinatown Again
Everyone may have different work attitudes and work styles, but Ye Qiu doesn’t want his company to support a bunch of useless slackers.
Originally, the Xingyue Group had too many designers, paying so many salaries every month, yet not a single outstanding designer, in such a situation, most of the so-called designers had to be dismissed.
Now, with the new designers hired here by Louise, Ye Qiu hasn’t met them yet, so he has to take a look at their work first.
Basically, Ye Qiu can tell how skilled a designer is with just one look.
"This is your mentor, Ye Qiu, also a designer at Louise Fashion," Louise said.
At first, these people’s gazes held a bit of disdain when they looked at Ye Qiu, but now, upon hearing he’s a designer for Louise Fashion, their attitudes changed.
After all, there was that designer before who passed off Ye Qiu’s work as his own, and now he’s infamous in the design community.
"Bring your work over for me to look at and explain your insights and the creative background behind it."
Ye Qiu said.
When he spoke in fluent French, these designers were naturally even more surprised.
The first designer sat down, someone Ye Qiu didn’t recognize, hired later by Louise. The individual’s design was a summer dress, and from the look of it, Ye Qiu could instantly tell it was an upper-class piece, with elements of vintage style.
The designer began introducing his work, including its creative background, intent, and inspiration.
In the end, after listening, Ye Qiu felt it was quite good, indicating this designer had skill and excellent talent, worth cultivating, and they could participate in French fashion shows, or even London ones.
Ye Qiu sat there, reviewing the designers’ works one by one, and then engaging in discussions with them.
As lunchtime approached, Ye Qiu had finished reviewing all of them.
Finally, Louise asked, "What do you think?"
"Not bad, a few have really good works; for the upcoming fashion shows in February and March, they could present their works."
Louise noted it down.
Although Ye Qiu’s work is excellent, the company’s development still relies on other designers.
Now Ye Qiu has seen everything, but in Song Ying’s eyes, Ye Qiu is becoming increasingly enigmatic to her; she suddenly feels Ye Qiu seems to understand everything.
English, French, medical skills, playing the piano, studying, playing basketball, even winemaking and fashion design, she feels Ye Qiu is truly omnipotent.
No wonder Ye Qiu has so much wealth now.
Leaving the office, Louise handed over responsibility to the secretary, took the elevator down, and Ye Qiu prepared to go to Chinatown first to eat, then stroll around the malls here.
Ye Qiu knew that Song Ying came along just to shop in the big malls of Paris.
"My sister-in-law and others also asked me to bring some things back for them."
"Instructor, let’s check it out after lunch!"
Getting in the car, Ye Qiu drove toward Paris’ Chinatown.
Upon reaching the parking lot outside Chinatown, he realized he couldn’t drive inside, so he parked the car and Ye Qiu and the three ladies got out.
Heading towards the gate of Chinatown, Ye Qiu noticed there were really many tourists, particularly many Caucasians, Africans, and Asians; possibly because it’s during the Chinese New Year, there are notably more tourists from China.
Though it’s not exactly shoulder to shoulder crowded, looking around, it feels like there’s a sea of people.
As Ye Qiu directly held the hands of Zhou Wenting and Louise, Song Ying could only follow behind, astonished that Ye Qiu held those two girls like that.
And what about her?
Song Ying could only trail behind.
"Instructor, there are a lot of people here, don’t get lost."
"I won’t."
Having previously studied in London, she often went to London’s Chinatown; this is her first time at Paris’ Chinatown, discovering it’s very similar to London’s, full of the style of the Republic of China era, especially now during the Chinese New Year, with lanterns hanging everywhere, it looks very festive.
Ye Qiu and the three girls walked and looked, but they first went to a teahouse for lunch, where Ye Qiu discovered a Cantonese-style teahouse that made delicious Cantonese cuisine.
So, Ye Qiu planned to take the three ladies there to try the roast goose and roast duck.
Upon arriving at the teahouse, they found it quite busy.
However, seeing Ye Qiu with three beauties, many people glanced over with odd looks.
"Sir, is it four of you?"
"Is there a private room available?"
"There is, but it comes with a minimum spend requirement."
Ye Qiu didn’t mind at all; it was noisy outside, uncomfortable for dining, so he let the female server lead the four of them into a private room.
Entering inside, they found heating and air conditioning, but now it felt a bit hot.
After turning on the air conditioner to cool the room, and taking off their outerwear, it was indeed much more comfortable without the outside noise, but they could still see the lively street of Chinatown.
"Sir, here is the menu."
Ye Qiu took the menu, looked at the prices, feeling they were a bit more expensive than in Jinling, but not by much.
He ordered ten famous Cantonese dishes and two soups.
"Does this meet the minimum spend requirement?"
"Almost there."
"Then bring a bottle of good quality baijiu."
After noting down the order, the female server left the private room, and Zhou Wenting asked, "You ordered so much, can we finish it all?"
"Should be about right."
Although Zhou Wenting comes from a wealthy family, she doesn’t like wasting, which is one of the reasons Ye Qiu likes her.
Song Ying enjoyed the view of Chinatown outside the street, using her phone to take photos, planning to send them back to her family.
Ye Qiu didn’t say much.
Nowadays, when people go out for leisure, they use their phones to take photos and keep them to look at from time to time.
In about five minutes, two female servers brought sterilized tableware and a bottle of baijiu with glasses.
"Sir, this baijiu sells for over two thousand domestically, we only sell it for over a thousand here," the server said, referring to the national liquor, which Ye Qiu had tasted before.
This indeed surprised Ye Qiu, selling for over two thousand at home and cheaper abroad—even several hundred in some countries—clearly a strategy to earn foreign exchange.
"Are you thinking about drinking baijiu if you’re going to drive later?"
Zhou Wenting asked.
"You know my situation."
If it were red wine, the three ladies might have wanted to try, but baijiu—they didn’t dare, especially since they planned to go shopping afterward; getting drunk would dampen the mood for shopping.
Ye Qiu opened the bottle of baijiu, and upon smelling the fragrance, poured a glass and drank it down in one gulp, noting its smoothness and a slight fiery sensation, it indeed wasn’t suitable for the ladies.
"Then tonight, when we return to eat hot pot, you can drink those red wines."
