The next day, following her mom’s instructions, Honey didn’t go straight home after kindergarten. Instead, she went with the driver to pick up her brother, and the two of them headed to The Sterling Group. With Old Black, the driver, as their escort, the two little ones held hands and took the elevator straight to Ethan Sterling’s office.

After the dissolution of The Fragrance Lab, the Sterling Group’s secretary team moved back to the top floor, the closest position to the boss.

Skylar Aldrin adapted well at the company, already capable of helping Ethan Sterling handle important matters, becoming much more steady than before and growing quickly.

Recently, almost all the tricky documents from the secretary team were delivered by him, glamorously named the boss’s confidant. The truth is, they valued Skylar’s thick skin. Plus, when he first joined the company, he had been hardened by Ethan Sterling, so not even a scolding could dampen his mood much.

But recently, the boss clearly wasn’t in a normal state. The president’s office felt like a huge ice cave; entering for a few minutes felt like a life-and-death situation. Normally acceptable plans weren’t passing now and needed redoing; some project leaders were so anxious their hairlines receded nearly a centimeter.

Skylar looked worriedly at the two folders in front of him. The project leaders almost cried when handing them over, pleading with him to get the boss’s signature, as further changes would drive them crazy.

He sighed and reluctantly got up, heading to the president’s office with a mindset of impending doom.

At this moment, Old Black brought the two little ones out of the elevator, and the secretary team’s members, overshadowed by gloom, suddenly widened their eyes. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺

Since when did Uncle Black’s family have two little angels?

Skylar rubbed his eyes, clearly seeing the two little ones walking slowly towards him, nearly moved to tears. With these two little angels in hand, surely the boss’s oppressive aura would dissipate, right?

He practically dashed over, "Seth, Honey, I’ve missed you both so much!" The reason for their appearance was irrelevant. What mattered was that they would surely help by saying a few good words later.

"Brother Leo, why are you here?" Honey was delighted to see the handsome big brother, her bell-like voice carrying far.

At first, the secretary team wondered about Skylar’s relationship with the little angels. Then, hearing the little angel’s affectionate address, their expressions turned a bit odd. Someone couldn’t hold back and laughed first, then more followed, one after another.

Skylar heard the laughter, glanced back, and said, "So childish."

Just then, Leader Jewel came over and patted Skylar’s shoulder, "Sky, since when did you get so close with Uncle Black’s kids?"

Old Black coughed twice from behind, "My sons are already in college."

Skylar rolled his eyes, somewhat dismissing the man with the dark humor, "This is Mr. Sterling’s daughter and son; you knew nothing." Saying this, he picked up Honey, "Seth, follow Brother, and I’ll take you to see the boss."

Having said that, he pushed aside the frozen Leader Jewel and led the two little ones to the president’s office under everyone’s surprised gazes.

Snow had a habitual frown upon seeing the two kids but, seeing Skylar leading them in and Uncle Black following, instantly guessed the kids had extraordinary identities, so she courteously reminded, "Director Sterling is inside."

After his factory internship, Leon Sterling prepared an exceptionally well-done inspection report for Ethan Sterling and then requested to work in marketing.

Ethan Sterling thought highly of his brother’s capabilities and directly gave him the position of marketing director, essentially making him the second-in-command in the marketing department. Although they both bore the Sterling surname, their personalities and appearances were quite different, so no one suspected any familial relation.

The Director Sterling Snow referred to was Leon Sterling.

After hearing this, Seth pulled on the hesitant Skylar, "Let’s go in." Mom had said no matter what Dad was doing; they were to take him home immediately to sleep. A director inside certainly couldn’t stop him from taking Dad away.

Hearing this, Honey wanted down to hold her brother’s hand and enter together.

Ethan Sterling froze seeing the two little ones at the door, while Leon Sterling stifled a chuckle.

"Mr. Sterling..." Skylar was just about to hand over the documents when Ethan Sterling coldly instructed, "Close the door."

"Yes..." Skylar had to obediently close the door and retreat, sitting with Snow, "When will the boss’s mother-in-law pass away?"

"I heard the boss lady went on a business trip. Probably when she gets back, it should be better, just wait." Snow smiled and answered lightly.

Skylar sighed, lazily lifting the files, but before he could speak, Snow smiled and said two words, "No way." He had no choice but to lower his hand again.

Inside the office, after greeting their uncle, Seth and Honey wasted no time in each grabbing one of Ethan Sterling’s arms.

Honey gently rocked her Dad’s arm, whining, "Daddy, if you don’t rest, you’ll get all worn out."

"Mom said you need to go home and rest immediately," Seth firmly conveyed his mother’s instruction.

Ethan Sterling’s helpless eyes sparkled with warmth, "When did Mom tell you that?"

"Last night." Seth was familiar with his Dad’s expression and continued, "Mom said the work over there is going smoothly, just quite busy. When it’s done, she’ll come back, and she insisted Honey and I ensure you get home to rest well."

The crease in Ethan Sterling’s brow gradually relaxed, his mouth forming an almost but not quite rising smile, "I understand." He barely managed to pull his arms free from the two kids, coughed twice to cover the tiny sparks in his heart, and, while shutting down his computer, stubbornly claimed, "I had planned to go home and rest today anyway."

"Really?" Leon Sterling asked with playful sarcasm, then stood up, "Alright, since someone’s taking care of you, I won’t worry." He stood up, smiling at the two little angels, "Uncle is leaving now, come play with me on the weekend, okay?"

"Got it, goodbye, Uncle." Honey waved at her uncle.

"Goodbye, Uncle," Seth also politely added.

In no time, Ethan Sterling led the two little ones out of the office, leaving the secretary team, including Snow and Skylar, somewhat dumbstruck. This gentle-looking boss, apart from his consistently brooding face, seemed nothing like the tyrant of recent days, right?

Once the father and children entered the elevator, a young secretary gushed, "I didn’t realize the boss’s tender side is even more attractive, I’m so envious of the boss’s lady."

A colleague beside her suddenly lowered their voice, "Speaking of the boss’s lady, I’ve got a big scoop, do you want to hear it?"

"I’ve a friend who works as a journalist at XX Studio. Apparently, at the Metamorphosis relaunch series, someone mischievously played an indescribable clip, and word is, the woman looked exactly like our boss’s lady."

"Oh my gosh, were the boss and his lady secretly filmed?"

The person rolled their eyes, "What’s there to secretly film about a married couple legally together? The unshown man surely wasn’t the boss!"

"Are you nuts, daring to speak like that!"

"It’s because we’re close! But, the boss returned early from a business trip and has had a bad mood for days. It all started happening after that big show, and I heard The Sterling Group’s PR department worked to suppress the matter."

"Goodness gracious, even such a charismatic man as the boss could be..."

The two stopped their gossip as Snow emerged from the inner room.
