Chubby Mommy: Scheming Daddy, Surrender Now!-Chapter 320: The Order Data Looks Wonderful
Of course, the one most delighted by the advertising frenzy is Ruby Sullivan, the boss herself, so on the day the pre-orders went live, everyone arrived early at the office, anticipating the high moment when the pre-orders would sell out in minutes.
As it turned out, after staring blankly at the computer screen for a full hour, there were just under ten pre-order orders, one of which was from Ruby’s fan, Stella Jennings.
Having successfully placed her order, she happily sent a screenshot to her idol.
"Alright, everyone get back to work. I actually thought no one would come to pre-order; this number is already pretty good." Ruby encouraged the office staff as she saw one disappointed face after another.
She dreamt last night of witnessing today’s spectacular rise in orders, well, reality proved that dreams indeed go the opposite way.
Tina and Claire knew a bit about fan circles, so they completely understood the current situation.
Although Autumn is a young film star, her exposure in the country isn’t very high. Her movie has a soft erotic label and hasn’t even been released in mainland China. Previously, she only shot covers for some youth-oriented magazines, barely counting as a distinctive wild model with limited true fans, whose selling power is foreseeable.
As for Emma, although she was an international supermodel, she has been inactive for so long and hadn’t engaged with any fan base management. It’s already a miracle for her to trend on social media; to have a few dedicated fans watching the clock to pre-order is honestly miraculous.
Perfume isn’t a necessity, and this time the Nirvana price is truly unaffordable, with the pre-order deposit alone at five hundred bucks. Without support from major companies and big-name brands, Wenny being the only disciple of Dr. L just doesn’t offer much persuasion.
"Boss, don’t be upset; we have a two-month pre-order period, surely those who love this perfume couldn’t possibly sit by their phones waiting for pre-orders," Claire patted Ruby’s shoulder, trying to console her.
Tina nodded repeatedly beside her.
Ruby waited until everyone returned to work before she allowed herself a sigh.
She had considered this possibility before, having discussed the selling power of the two spokespersons with Howard. But seeing the good response to the advertisement, she couldn’t help but feel hopeful.
After ordering bubble tea for everyone in the company through her phone, she bucked up and returned to work. Anyway, even with Nirvana losing money, it temporarily wouldn’t affect the production of the first fragrance, leaving her no time for sorrow. She simply hoped everyone would regain their enthusiasm after drinking Honey’s bubble tea.
Tomorrow at dawn is when the FIFI website announces the selected nominee list, and thinking of this made her strangely nervous.
Right now, winning a FIFI award is her last hope, but it could also be her definitive despair.
Dr. L, always unpredictable in his thoughts, what expression would he have upon seeing her name?
Unexpectedly, she received a call from her mentor this afternoon, and seeing the name flashing on the screen, she thought her eyes deceived her.
L was direct, and upon hearing her voice, he spoke softly, "If you want to win the Star of the Year award, divorce Ethan Sterling." After saying this, he hung up without waiting for Ruby’s response.
How very much in L’s style.
Ruby shook her head with a smile, pretending she hadn’t received the call, putting down the phone, and continuing to work. Previously, she never perceived her mentor as childish; now she truly couldn’t understand his logic.
When leaving the office, Ruby glanced at the data again; pre-orders had risen to over twenty. Well, at least they were increasing.
Howard rode the elevator down with her.
"Boss, I plan to set an alarm to wait for the website to release the information. Should I notify you immediately of the results?" Howard thought about the announcement and felt extremely excited inside.
"No need, we’re sure to be shortlisted." Ruby replied with absolute certainty.
Howard, hearing this, became even more excited, "Internal information?"
"None." Ruby stepped out of the elevator, smiled slightly as she turned back, "Just a guess." She waved her hand and strode toward the exit.
Ethan Sterling’s car was naturally waiting outside.
Seeing her get in the car with a smile on her face, he assumed the pre-order situation was going well, "How many orders are there?"
"It was twenty-seven when I left the office," Ruby chuckled, "Finally, there are some earnings."
Ethan Sterling nodded, "Yes."
She tilted her head at him, "Are you sincere with that?"
"Of course, sincerely." Her happiness was what mattered; plus, the saying of any earnings after breaking zero is universally correct.
Ruby narrowed her eyes, deciding to phrase it differently, "If you were me, would you be happy or sad right now?"
Ethan Sterling glanced at her, "I’d shut down the business and go work for The Sterling Group, earnestly."
Ruby rolled her eyes, "Forget I asked."
Ethan Sterling patted her head with a smile, "Don’t feel pressured, after all, it’s free money we’re playing with; don’t fret even if it loses."
"That’s true."
At around four in the morning, Howard sprang up from bed upon hearing his alarm, rushed out, and booted up the computer. The latest announcement on the website was the shortlisted entries for the FIFI competition. As he opened it, he quickly saw Phoenix among the shortlisted contenders for the Star of the Year!
"Yes!" Howard jubilantly burst out in English, twirling several times in the living room.
Even knowing the chance of winning is slim, just being shortlisted is worth celebrating. It’s like those perennial star runners who still list the year and category of their nominations as runner-up for various awards in their résumés.
Nirvana is at least no longer a worthless domestic brand!
Howard was dancing ballroom style in the living room when suddenly he turned around and saw a ghost lurking in the corner, his features twisted in fright. Once he recognized the face, he bitterly laughed, "Honey, could you not cosplay at this hour?"
His girlfriend wrapped in the blanket gave him a blank stare, "You rave dance at this hour, are you even human?" With that, she turned back to the bedroom.
Howard dashed after her; it was too late. The definitive sound of a lock clicked, and being together for over a decade, he knew when it came to this, his wife was dead serious; he could only weep aside as he went back to his slumber on the sofa.
He wished dearly to call the boss, but alas, the phone was left in the bedroom.
Meanwhile, Ruby suddenly opened her eyes abruptly, glanced out to see it was still pre-dawn gray, and only after checking her phone did she realize it was barely five o’clock.
Thinking of FIFI, she quietly got up, planning to sneak to the computer for a look.
Despite her light movement, Ethan Sterling still woke up and sat up, "FIFI?"
"Yes, the shortlist should already be out."
He got up too, "I’ll check too."
"Okay."
Based on her deduction, Nirvana surely must be shortlisted. She inquired with friends on the Bellaza side, today nearly all fashion buyers globally would be watching the FIFI shortlist, and almost immediately after the list comes out, they would start global purchasing. Nirvana now can only be bought domestically and with limited availability. This very likely would make it favored among the buyers.
So, upon seeing Phoenix written on the list, Ruby let out a long sigh of relief and immediately logged into the online store’s background.
Well, the figures were optimistic, already at thirty-two...
