Chubby Mommy: Scheming Daddy, Surrender Now!-Chapter 158: The Final Disappointment
Rhonda Sullivan immediately hardened her face, rudely poking her shoulder, saying, "You brought this on yourself, you know? Why didn’t you just live well in Bellaza? Why come back to fight with me over Ethan? Do you think that marrying him is enough? Didn’t you walk away embarrassed after marrying him all those years ago? Ruby Sullivan, this time, not even the heavens are helping you!"
Ruby Sullivan only felt her stomach ache more and more. She strained to hold onto the wall. Initially standing was already difficult; now, as she was poked, her shoulder wobbled, making it even harder to maintain balance. Her legs seemed to weaken, and her whole body uncontrollably slid down the wall.
Ruby Sullivan simply stopped struggling. After all, she didn’t have the strength to struggle, so she sat on the ground instead. The coldness of the floor seemed to penetrate her body through her skin immediately, making her stomach hurt even more.
Rhonda Sullivan not only showed no concern, but mocked more wantonly, looking down at her, kicking her foot, and ridiculing, "There’s no one else here, who are you pretending for?"
At this moment, a nurse passing by during a shift change saw her and quickly ran over, "Mrs. Sterling, what’s wrong?"
Ruby Sullivan answered with difficulty, "My stomach hurts a bit, can you help me back to the ward?"
"Sure." The nurse pulled her up, glancing at Rhonda Sullivan blocking the way, "Please move aside."
Rhonda Sullivan made a "tsk" sound but still stepped aside.
The nurse helped her to the bed and settled her in, "The doctor is on lunch break at this time, I’ll go check the office. If the doctor is in, I’ll ask them to come see you."
"Thank you." Ruby Sullivan glanced at Rhonda Sullivan who had followed in, "Could you help me get her out?"
The nurse also glanced back, "Sure." She then told Rhonda Sullivan standing not far away, "Ma’am, please leave, the patient needs rest."
Rhonda Sullivan was indifferent, "I’m her sister here for a visit. Even in a VIP ward, we’re not allowed to visit?"
The nurse, having dealt with such people before, noticed she was pregnant and didn’t want any physical confrontation to avoid trouble, "No matter who you are, the patient needs rest now, please leave."
"No, I have a lot to say to my sister. Why should I leave just because you tell me to?" Rhonda Sullivan knew the nurse couldn’t do much to her, so she deliberately acted shamelessly.
She came over intending to provoke Ruby Sullivan. It would be best if she got angry!
The nurse felt exasperated, "Ma’am, if you’re causing trouble on purpose, I’ll have to call the police."
"Go ahead, call them. I’m waiting for the police to come," Rhonda Sullivan said fearlessly.
"Why are you here?" Ethan Sterling’s voice came from behind, causing her to freeze and jump in shock.
The nurse, as if seeing a savior, immediately complained, "This lady claims to be Mrs. Sterling’s sister and has been causing trouble in the ward."
"Sorry, I’ll handle it," Ethan Sterling apologized.
The nurse, feeling a bit shy, shook her head, "I’ll go find the doctor then; Mrs. Sterling said her stomach hurts."
"Thank you," Ethan Sterling added appreciatively.
Honey peeked out from behind her father’s leg, carefully moved towards Rhonda Sullivan, and while no one noticed, she stomped hard on Rhonda’s foot.
Rhonda Sullivan was wearing open-toed flat sandals. Even though Honey’s shoe soles were soft, that stomp hurt. As she was pondering how to respond to Ethan Sterling, she suddenly yelped and saw Honey making a face at her. Realizing what happened, she raised her hand intending to hit her, "You little brat!"
Honey quickly hid behind Ethan Sterling, "Dad, she called me a short-lived ghost last time, and now she’s calling me little brat. I’m not dead; I’m doing fine. I want to live to 100!"
Ethan Sterling picked Honey up, giving Rhonda Sullivan a sidelong glance, "Yes, our Honey will live to 100." He then looked at Rhonda Sullivan with a cold voice, "Get out."
Rhonda Sullivan frowned and explained, "I’m concerned about Ruby’s condition, so I came to see her."
"Leave my sight immediately," Ethan Sterling stared steadily at her, "Don’t push me to hit women."
Rhonda Sullivan gasped, not expecting him to say such a thing. After the initial shock, she became extremely aggrieved, "Then I’m leaving." She stomped out of the ward, slamming the door deliberately.
"Mom!" Seth ran to the bedside, looking at her weakened state, feeling sad, "Mom, are you okay?"
"Good boy." Ruby Sullivan rubbed his head, forcing a smile.
Honey also got down from Ethan Sterling and ran to the bedside, "Mom, I miss you so much." She said, hugging Ruby’s arm and pressing her little face against it.
"Mom is okay. I’m sorry for worrying you," Ruby Sullivan said, taking several deep breaths.
Maybe her body warmed up, and her stomach didn’t hurt so much, but after all this fuss, she felt drained and somewhat useless.
Ethan Sterling walked over, "The nurse said your stomach hurt?"
"Yeah, probably from being upset," Ruby Sullivan said casually, but the listener took it seriously.
Ethan Sterling felt guilty, "I’m sorry."
She paused, saying nothing.
Now, does everything need him to apologize on her behalf? She suddenly recalled when she first joined The Sterling Group, Ethan Sterling also protected Rhonda like this. Maybe Rhonda was right. She shouldn’t have come back, so even the heavens aren’t helping her.
After the doctor confirmed that Ruby Sullivan was fine, Ethan Sterling felt relieved, allowing the two children to stay in the ward with their mom while he went out to buy food.
Ruby Sullivan thought about the divorce, yet to discuss with the two kids. Although a bit out of breath, she still wanted to talk to them first.
She held the hands of the two kids seriously, "Seth, Honey, after careful consideration, I’ve decided to separate from your dad."
Seth had long been mentally prepared, so he wasn’t surprised, but he still frowned, a bit worried about where he’d go.
Honey was anxious, "Why? Is Dad leaving us?"
Ruby Sullivan squeezed her little hand, "Dad isn’t leaving us. Mom just isn’t happy living with him, so I want to separate." She knew her daughter’s level of understanding, believing she would grasp that.
Sure enough, Honey thought for a while, then said sadly, "Mom’s happiness is the most important, I will listen to Mom."
Ruby Sullivan patted her head, her nose a bit sour, "Good girl, Mom knows you’re sensible." Mom is sorry she can’t give you a complete family.
She then looked at Seth, "I’ve spoken to your dad about you; he should also discuss it with you. I’m planning to take Honey to Meridia because my dad is sick, and I want to take Honey there to take care of him. If you want to come with me, tell your dad directly. I’m more than willing to continue being your mom."
Seth pressed his lips and nodded solemnly.
Ruby Sullivan looked at the two well-behaved children, feeling somewhat consoled, as if her own kids had returned.
In the afternoon, she had Leon Sterling bring her cell phone while visiting and called Sasha Shaw.
