Chubby Mommy: Scheming Daddy, Surrender Now!-Chapter 144: Am I Good-Looking? It’s Up to You
Leon Sterling was amused by her expression, how did a serious matter become so frivolous?
He took out a chip and stuffed it in her mouth, "I’m starving, what’s for dinner?"
"Whatever you want, I’ve got it all." Sasha Shaw chewed the chip, then took out her phone to order takeout, "I usually eat simple stuff, like salads, dumplings from this place, and lately I’ve been obsessed with fried rice from a local spot, it’s super tasty."
She looked up at Leon, "Tell me, what do you want to eat? Big sister’s treating you to dinner."
Leon shook his head speechlessly, "What ingredients do you have at home? I’ll cook."
"Hmm..." Sasha pursed her lips, thinking hard, "I think I have instant noodles." She then smiled awkwardly, "Ordering takeout is really convenient, no need to wash dishes, saves time, lots of choices..."
Leon, too lazy to listen to her nonsense, pulled out his phone to check the time, "Do you want to go to the supermarket to buy groceries?"
"Are you really going to cook?"
"You don’t mean you don’t even have a pot at home, right?" Seeing her embarrassed expression, Leon made a bold guess.
"Of course I have!" Sasha suddenly straightened up, her voice rising to a higher pitch.
Actually, she had prepared the pots and pans thinking Ruby Sullivan would live here often. That guy is such a great cook, all because of Ethan Sterling; if they hadn’t bumped into each other at the airport, Ruby might have stayed at her place a few days more.
Leon, not convinced, went to check her kitchen and surprisingly found her pots and utensils were complete, "Bought them to collect dust?" he teased with a grin.
Sasha’s mouth twitched, stubbornly saying, "Yeah, isn’t it classy?"
Leon looked at her and chuckled, "Come on, if we delay any longer, the supermarket will close." His initially terrible mood seemed insignificant now.
He planned to have a good talk with Ruby Sullivan; Ruby is smart, she must have her own ideas. Whether they remain friends or he pursues her, no matter what choice she makes, he will respect it.
Sasha had just returned from a business trip this week and hadn’t visited a supermarket in a long time. When she got to the snack aisle, she felt like buying everything.
Leon observed her preferences and picked up a bag of puffs, thoughtfully introducing, "If you want to gain weight, eating this is guaranteed to work, go for it."
Sasha’s good mood instantly diminished, she frowned and thought for a while, taking half of the junk food out of the cart. Maybe because she hadn’t exercised in a while, she was slightly constipated and felt her tummy had gained a bit of chubbiness compared to last month.
Leon admired her pained expression but in his mind, he pictured a lively emoji representing her emotions.
"Hey, aren’t you curious about me?"
"What should I know?" Sasha compared the calories of each yogurt and in the end chose the one she liked, putting it in the cart. She looked up at him as if finding his question a bit unnecessary.
"Like, my job, for instance."
"Oh, do you want me to ask?" Sasha tried to gauge his intention.
Leon laughed, "I’m a painter."
"Really, then I guess we’re kind of in the same field." She thought for a moment, "I’m a designer."
"I know." Leon smiled with a hint of helplessness. He not only knew she was a designer but also knew she was quite famous; just last week, she won first prize in a fashion contest.
Sasha assumed she had mentioned it when she was drunk; she remembered telling him a lot of things, although she couldn’t recall them, "What do you think of this?" She picked up a line of Yakult and suddenly felt like drinking it.
Leon realized she hadn’t paid him much attention and was both amused and annoyed, "As long as you’re happy."
They bought enough stuff to fill three plastic bags; after returning home, Leon busied himself in the kitchen while Sasha played games in the living room, showing no sign of helping.
She thought her doing something she was not good at was a waste of resources. If Leon could get something done in five minutes, she would need fifteen or even twenty-five minutes. Better not to help; in twenty-five minutes, she could watch a dozen comedy highlights.
Leon’s Western cuisine was quite well done, its flavor mildly unique, perfectly paired with the sparkling wine they bought.
Sasha looked at the dinner on the table, feeling like Ruby Sullivan was back, and immediately laughed shamelessly, "You’re welcome to come to my place and cook often." Yeah, not be a guest but to cook.
Leon raised his wine glass, "Then, let’s celebrate our official friendship."
Sasha clinked glasses with him and laughed heartily, "So formal, like we’re confirming a romantic relationship."
Leon blinked, "Don’t worry, I have no ulterior motives toward you."
"I know, I know, you have someone you like." Sasha said casually as she had no romantic thoughts, digital world characters being so caring, celebrities possessing any traits imaginable; she was quite indifferent to love.
"I just wanted to introduce myself seriously, my name is Leon Sterling, I also have a French name, CharlesLee, and I’m a painter."
"Your foreign name, it feels familiar." Sasha frowned, thinking for a long time, "Could it be the painter who recently toured Euronia and Meridia, also named Charles? If you’re a painter too, you should know him, right?"
Leon, suppressing laughter, nodded, "Yeah, I’m quite familiar with him."
"Wow, dude, impressive, knowing such a famous painter. I heard he never exposes himself publicly, no one knows what he looks like." Sasha’s gossip spirit flared up again, though she felt it was inappropriate, she couldn’t help asking, "Is he a man or a woman, good looking? Don’t worry, I won’t spread it; I’m just curious."
Actually, many in the art world liked keeping secrets; she really was purely curious.
But after speaking, seeing Leon’s smiling glance without answering, her face suddenly heated, feeling her question was rather rude, "Forget it, forget it, it’s bad to mention it; just pretend I didn’t ask. Let’s eat."
Leon saw her suddenly awkward look and couldn’t help laughing, covering his mouth to stifle it, as Sasha’s face grew increasingly red, he somewhat reluctantly covered his mouth, "I wasn’t laughing at you." Though he actually was.
"Hey..." Sasha rubbed her face, "Was I being a bit like a busybody aunt just now?" Considering she was about to step into middle age, she was quite mindful of this.
Leon took a deep breath, "Alright, alright, no more laughing." He calmed himself down, looked at her and sincerely said, "I’m Charles, a guy, as for good looks... it’s up to you."
Sasha was stunned; she had just seen his exhibition in Milanza while working there, even took a liking to a painting, but didn’t buy it because it was too expensive...
