Chosen By The Lover's Constellation-Chapter 182: Star Players, Part Eleven
{Vy}
Vy wandered through the dimly lit corridors of the abandoned building that she and her companions called home.
The faint echoes of her footsteps reverberated against the cracked walls.
Vy had pale skin and her striking purple eyes and cascading purple hair stood out against the desolate backdrop. She wore simple rags, stained and cut, as even now, after everything that happened recently, she didn’t have much in the form of money.
As she passed by makeshift living spaces, Vy checked in with the others here.
Most were Children of Mana like her, but a few were regular humans.
She sat by one of them, offering a reassuring smile and a few words of comfort.
"Hey, how’s everyone holding up?" she asked, her voice soft yet filled with genuine concern.
One by one, her friends responded, expressing gratitude for her presence and reassurance.
"We’re doing okay, Vy," one of them replied, a weary smile gracing their features. "Thanks for checking in."
Vy nodded, her heart heavy with the knowledge of their struggles. Despite the harsh realities they faced, she found solace in their resilience and camaraderie.
Seeking a moment of respite from the chaos of their everyday lives, Vy made her way to the building’s rooftop.
Pushing open the creaking door, she stepped out into the cool night air, greeted by the gentle rustle of the wind and the faint glow of distant city lights.
The rooftop offered a sanctuary of sorts, a brief reprieve from the hardships that awaited them below.
Vy found a quiet corner and settled down, allowing herself to be enveloped by the tranquility of the night.
With a deep breath, she closed her eyes, allowing her thoughts to drift away as she savored the stillness of the moment.
For a fleeting instant, she allowed herself to forget the struggles and uncertainties that plagued their existence, finding solace in the simple act of being.
In the distance, the faint sound of laughter and conversation drifted up from the streets below, a reminder of the bustling world that lay beyond their makeshift sanctuary.
Despite the challenges they faced, Vy couldn’t help but feel a glimmer of hope stirring within her heart.
[Soon...] She opened her eyes, looking at the rest of Telvan. [Soon, this will all be ours. I just need to kill a few more people. That’s all.]
But as she sought solace in the quiet, a familiar voice intruded upon her thoughts, sending a shiver down her spine.
"Vy," the voice whispered, its tone silky smooth yet laced with an underlying menace.
Vy’s breath caught in her throat as she recognized the voice of the Tyrant, the Constellation she’d given herself to.
She had hoped for a moment of peace, but now she found herself confronted by the chilling presence of her dark master.
The Tyrant’s words echoed in her mind, his sinister presence looming over her like a shadow.
"You have done well, my dear Vy," he murmured, his voice dripping with satisfaction. "Eliminating Xi was a significant victory. She was a formidable opponent. Adding her abilities to yours will surely swing at least a few fights in our favor."
Of course, what he was referring to was Vy’s Instinct.
The Instinct he’d given to her.
Replica

If the person whose abilities they are copying dies while the user is copying them, the user of this Instinct gets to keep those abilities.}
Vy’s heart raced as she listened to the Tyrant’s words, his praise sending a surge of conflicting emotions coursing through her.
On one hand, she felt a sense of pride at his approval. But beneath the surface, a nagging sense of doubt gnawed at her mind.
Two figures came to her mind. Two figures who caused unease within her heart.
Lianna Velcross and Enverna Alteri. The mere thought of them sent a chill down her spine, stirring a sense of unease within her heart.
"I’m not sure about that," Vy replied, her voice tinged with worry. "I still don’t know what those two can do."
The Tyrant’s response was dismissive, his tone dripping with arrogance. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
"You needn’t concern yourself with them, Vy," he murmured. "They are insignificant in the grand scheme of things."
But Vy couldn’t shake the feeling of unease that gnawed at her mind. Lianna and Enverna were no ordinary adversaries. Clearly not. They’d helped repel an entire siege!
From what little research she’d done, it was clear they were powerful, resourceful, and cunning.
And now, given what had popped up on social media... if they managed to leave Telvan before she could uncover their true capabilities, Vy knew she would be at a severe disadvantage in the battles that lay ahead.
"I fear they might be dangerous," Vy confessed, her voice trembling with apprehension. "If they manage to slip through our grasp, I may lose the battles that follow."
The Tyrant’s response was swift and cold.
"You worry too much, Vy," he chided. "Trust in my guidance, and together we will triumph over any obstacle that stands in our way."
But Vy couldn’t shake the feeling of doubt that lingered in her heart. The Tyrant’s assurances did little to ease her fears, leaving her torn between loyalty to her dark master and the gnawing uncertainty that plagued her thoughts.
As she pondered her next move, Vy knew that the fate of Telvan, and indeed, the world itself, hung in the balance.
And whether she liked it or not, the decisions she made in the days to come would shape the course of history in ways she could scarcely imagine.
[Everything,] Vy thought. [I want it all. For far too long, we have been shunned, beaten, kicked, and shoved around. No longer. No matter how many I have to kill, no matter how many lives I must ruin, I will create the new world the Tyrant has asked of me to help create. And...]
Those two whores from earlier came to mind.
[It begins with you two.]
