Chef at the University Canteen-Chapter 471 - 272: Jiang Yu Is Single, Do I Have a Chance? (Part 2)
"Alright, alright, stop talking about that disgusting old shadow, lest it ruin my appetite."
Hu Zhihai tapped his bowl vigorously with his chopsticks again, grinning as he said,
"Lao Jiang, go check outside, how are the sales going? Can we start eating? I’m about to starve!"
"You ate so much this morning, and you’re hungry again so soon? You really are like a pig!"
Jiang Yu glanced at Hu Zhihai, resignedly stood up, reached out to grab his arm, and pulled him to the sales area, pointing at the crowd outside the window, said,
"See for yourself, we just started business not long ago!"
Hu Zhihai never expected Jiang Yu to drag him along, and he stared at Jiang Yu resentfully, complaining:
"You could have checked by yourself, why drag me along? Do you think I wouldn’t believe you?"
Jiang Yu smiled lightly, "I was afraid you’d sneak a bite."
Hu Zhihai: "..."
Where’s the basic trust between people?!
It’s simply infuriating!
...
After the students’ lunch, the cafeteria staff gathered in the hall, enjoying the air conditioning while having lunch.
As soon as everyone sat down, they reached their chopsticks into the tray to grab some spicy and sour fern root noodles. As Lu Shuwu said earlier, when it’s hot, cold dishes are the most popular. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
Especially ones that are sour and spicy, cool and refreshing, they’re irresistible.
In no time, everyone at the table was bowing their heads cradling their bowls, slurping away, and before long, the tray of spicy and sour fern root noodles was gone.
"Delicious! These spicy and sour fern root noodles are fantastic!"
Hu Zhihai was the fastest; while others hadn’t finished one bowl, he had already polished off two and was busy pouring the last bits from the tray into his bowl now.
No wonder he’s gained weight with credibility.
"Indeed, it’s quite tasty, sour and spicy, cool and appetizing!"
"You guys, always stating the obvious, Boss made it himself, is it surprising it’s delicious? When hasn’t Boss’s food been tasty?"
"Exactly, exactly!"
"..."
The group laughed and joked while eating, without slowing down.
This was all thanks to Jiang Yu’s training; his food was so tasty that if you were any slower, you might miss out.
Even eating has such a sense of urgency; who dares to chew slowly?
Not just the young ones, even the elder Jia Dequan was quick with his chopsticks now, able to talk without missing a beat. Isn’t that impressive?
Jiang Yu rarely talked during meals; he was accustomed to eating seriously at mealtime and speaking afterwards, a habit instilled by his grandmother.
After eating two bowls of rice, Jiang Yu felt about seventy percent full, so he set down his bowl and chopsticks, pulled out a tissue to wipe his mouth, then turned to look at Du Guangning and Pei Guofu, saying:
"Xiaodu, I’m planning to treat my classmates to dinner tonight, probably three private rooms should suffice.
In the afternoon, you, Xiaoma, and Xiaodeng go upstairs to help, while Lao Pei stays in the first-floor kitchen to assist with dish preparation."
The Xiaoma and Xiaodeng Jiang Yu mentioned were naturally the two trainees in the second-floor kitchen.
"Okay."
"No problem."
Upon hearing this, the two nodded repeatedly, no complaints about Boss treating classmates to dinner on his graduation day.
Du Guangning thought for a moment and asked, "Boss, what dishes are we making?"
"Let’s go with the ’Jiangzhou Steamed Pork’ menu."
Jiang Yu pondered, smiling as he spoke,
"Most people like spicy food, and those who don’t, after four years at Jiang University, can probably tolerate a bit.
Moreover, after graduating, they rarely get the chance to visit Jiangzhou again, so let’s serve some Jiangzhou dishes for better reminiscence."
Currently, Room 7 offers four menu sets, one centered around ’Jiangzhou Steamed Pork,’ featuring Jiangzhou cuisine, including Jiangzhou Three Cup Chicken, Crock-Pot Braised Pig’s Feet, Beer-roasted Duck, Oil-Dipped Fish, Dried Plum Stir-fried Chicken Feet, and Yuqian Pepper Fried Pork.
One is a menu with ’Chopped Pepper Fish Head’ as the main dish, focusing on Xiang Cuisine, and another features ’Boiled Pork Slices,’ a Sichuan Cuisine menu.
The last one, with ’Imperial Blessed Pork’ as the main, consists of a mix of non-spicy dishes from different cuisines, emphasizing ’non-spicy.’
Of course, these four menus are merely for customers’ convenience in ordering, not set in stone, as the customer is always king.
If a customer insists on ordering from different cuisines, Jiang Yu certainly wouldn’t refuse; who’d turn away money?
Upon hearing Jiang Yu’s plan, Du Guangning naturally understood, nodded with a smile, and said:
"Alright, got it."
Cooking Jiangzhou dishes is his specialty; today he’s determined to impress Boss.
I, Xiaodu, am no amateur!
Since it’s the weekend, Room 7 isn’t operating, so the fresh food supply center didn’t deliver dishes for Room 7 this morning.
Jiang Yu hadn’t planned to treat classmates in advance, so after lunch, he called Boss Zhao to ask him to make another trip in the afternoon to deliver some ingredients.
