Chasing The Vengeful Villainous Heiress-Chapter 52: Valerie finally went mad
"This must be a joke." Valerie muttered and as she stepped closer, her vision slowly getting blurry. She couldn’t see straight but she wanted to get to Frankie and kept walking.
She wanted to confirm if this was a joke or a dream. It had to be one of them.
But the closer she got, the more her vision got hazy and the more she lost her senses. But funny enough, she was still approaching the dolls and she finally got to Frankie.
She touched her face. It was cold and she was pale, just like a doll.
"What happened, Frankie? Why are you sleeping in between these dolls?" Valerie asked.
In a situation like this, the first thing one’s heart would feel is ’denial’.
"Did you plan to surprise me but fell asleep halfway?" She asked, refusing to believe that Frankie was dead. "And this knife," her hands trembled as she reached out to hold the knife. "It looks so real. How much effort did you put into this?"
Valerie grabbed the knife, hoping it would just fall off the dress as a prop but it wouldn’t budge. It was stuck. It was stuck inside Frankie.
Valerie’s eyes grew and her pupils became dilated as she lost her senses for some reason and tugged the knife out of Frankie, turning to cut the person who was trying to attack her from behind.
"Ahh!" A lady screamed.
Valerie only had one instinct left as she had suddenly become numb to everything other than her sense to detect danger.
"Danger. Stay away. Danger. I’ll protect you, Frankie." She muttered, swinging her hand at the lady who was screaming at the top of her lungs and yelling murder.
"Murder! The lady has killed someone and wants to kill me too." She yelled and managed to get to her feet.
As if it had been planned, everyone had gathered in front of Valerie’s room to see what was going on, only to get hit by the stench of dried blood. Yes, that disgusting stench was dried blood, and standing in front of a collection of dead people was Valerie holding a knife and swinging, not minding if she would actually cut anyone.
"Crazy. She’s crazy." Everyone went into a frenzy.
And just as Lucy prepared, a team of specialists from an asylum charged in and tackled Valerie to the ground while she kept saying the words,
"Danger. I’ll protect you. It’s dangerous. I’ll protect you."
She struggled with them till they gave her a shot to put her to sleep and she finally lost consciousness. As she did, a tear rolled down her eye. Though she became numb, her heart still understood what was going on, she had lost her.
Her unconscious mind wanted to protect Frankie. Her unconscious mind wanted to keep them safe but her heart knew it too well. Frankie was gone even before she got back to the mansion.
As the specialist took Valerie away in a stretcher, bound at every corner, the guests spat out hatefully at her for the monster she was accused of. While Lucy stood in a corner, snickering in excitement.
She was overjoyed. She did it. She finally did it. She destroyed Valerie’s life and there was no way to get out of this.
The only witness who knows of what exactly happened was already dead. 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
"Thank you, Frankie. You helped me in bringing your master’s downfall. Hahaha." She laughed maniacally. "And now, I will be the only heiress. Everything belongs to me now." She laughed.
Max was on his way to meet Steven when his phone suddenly slipped out of his pocket and fell to the ground. He looked at it and then picked it up.
"Is it time to get a new one?" He wondered and put it back in his pocket. "Hm, I’m suddenly feeling uneasy right now."
Then, he opened the door and found Steven having tea with his legs crossed without a care in the world.
"What a nice time to be having tea?" Max said with a mocking gaze. "Where’s the phone?"
"I said I’d return it to the owner." Steven said and raised his cold gaze to meet Max’s gaze. "And you’re not the owner."
"Anything that belongs to Valerie," Max said, stepping closer with a violent attitude. "...belongs to me. So, hand it over."
"I refuse." Steven stood his ground. "And since you don’t know where I kept the phone, there’s nothing you can do to me."
"I can charge you for theft." Max said, " So better hand it over."
"And what exactly did I steal?" Steven asked and uncrossed his legs. "I found a phone. I know who the owner is and plan to give it to her directly. Yet, someone else approaches me and asks for the phone. Will I be in the wrong for not giving it or will I be considered an accomplice if I give it to that someone and the owner comes to me for it?"
His words were reasonable. The vase would be in his favor since he wasn’t the rightful owner. But he needed to get the phone back for Valerie.
"How about this?" Steven suddenly said, "I’ll give you the phone. But on the condition that you bring Miss Valerie over and let me talk to her."
"Over my dead body." Max swore bitterly.
"Wow, that’s harsh. You make it sound like I want to chew her up." Steven said and laughed. "Well, I guess we can forget about it." He picked up the remote and put on the television. "Maybe you should rethink your decision. In the meantime, I’ll just watch the news."
"There’s nothing to rethink." Max said but then a name caught his attention and he turned his gaze to the TV. "Hey, turn up the volume."
"Why should I?" Steven asked but Max snatched the remote from him and turned up the volume, making the news lady’s voice more audible as she reported from the scenes.
[This just in, Ross’ Heiress, Valerie Ross has been taken into custody by specialists of New Reins Asylum.]
Max’s eyes widened as she watched in disbelief. This was fake, right?
[It is said that she has been confirmed to have the tendency of storing dead bodies after killing them, in her room, living with them and talking to them like they were living people. And when discovered, she tried to silence the witness by killing her but she was able to raise an alarm and escape successfully.]
Maximus threw the remote aside and ran out of there, heading straight for his grandfather’s room right away.
This wasn’t true, right? This couldn’t be happening. There was no way Valerie would kill and even if she did...
"Dammit." This was crazy.
Now the whole world would believe that she was mentally unstable and her life would be destroyed.
