Chaos In The Darkness; Salvatores's Salvation-Chapter 50: A disco night - I
The next morning she woke up and remained in bed. Evelyn glanced at the clock that she had brought from her house and placed it on the bedside table.
There was still a lot of time to go when it came to her college. Nevertheless Evelyn knew that she had to get up. The breakfast would be with the don and she knew better than to be late.
She got ready for the day, settling in a nice dress and flats. She did not bother tying up her hair nor did she try any new makeup look except for some concealer.
No one has to know that she saw anything last night and that it had taken her sleep away.
Once she was very she opened the door to her room and stayed for a few seconds in the room that was in front of hers. She really prayed that he was not downstairs.
Evelyn instead of going straight to the dining table went into the kitchen first. She wanted to make herself for morning coffee and since this kitchen only had one chef she could take the luxury of cooking for herself.
The moment she entered the kitchen she stopped at what she saw. It was the feared don cooking.
Evelyn stopped at the door and stared at the Don’s back. He appeared to be wasting something which she could tell must be eggs. There was a pan on the stove and it was sizzling making the smell of the meat waft into the air.
The don was cooking. Should she take a picture?
"Ahem," she cleared her throat and Salvatore did not glance behind.
"Come sit Evelyn," he said, "unfortunately our cook had some work to do, so for sometime it would be us cooking."
Evelyn’s brows shot up for a second. She and the don would have to cook while taking alternate turns? The don who was probably a billionaire had to cook? She could not believe it.
"Uh," Evelyn hurriedly walked towards the stove, "I can do it." She tried to hold onto the stuff that Salvatore was holding onto but the man simply shook his head.
"You can cook dinner because I will be coming around eight in the evening. Is that alright with you or should I call for take away?" He barely gave her a glance.
Evelyn glanced at what he was whisking. If the Don was cooking breakfast then it was obvious that she would cook dinner. From tomorrow maybe she could tell him to hire a cook.
"I can cook dinner. Please don’t worry about that." She stepped back after he said that he would cook dinner. "Should I make cappuccino for you?" Evelyn wanted to contribute somehow to the breakfast. It did not sit well with the fact that the don of the organisation was actually cooking for her.
He nodded and started to pour the mixture in the pan just as Evelyn got started on the coffee.
After ten minutes or maybe twenty minutes later they were sitting on the bar stool present in the kitchen and their food was on the countertop. They were eating silently yet at length could not shake off the feeling of watching one of the most feared bosses in the crime organisations cooking and then also, for her.
After she was done they silently cleared away the plates and since it was him that cooked, she cleaned the dishes by just placing them in the dishwasher.
She then walked into the living room where she had kept her book bag and picked it up and stood in front of the left where Salvatore joined her.
The moment they stepped into the lift Evelyn found herself to be claustrophobic. The lift appeared to be smaller in size when she stood next to him. It was like she would move even an inch and she would end up touching him.
She gulped and unconsciously moved away from the man very slowly. She then glanced at him who was busy clicking away on his phone. Thank god for that. At least she was not paying attention to her.
They walked out there as the receptionist greeted them and then The Watchmen opened the door.
"Julian will pick you up," Salvatore said as he turned to her, "I will drop you for Today."
She nodded and sat in the car where he held the door open. He rounded the car and sat next to her. The space in between them made her feel claustrophobic again.
She did not even look at him once and focus on the world outside the car. Everyone was in a hurry to get somewhere and Evelyn was equally in the hurry as they were in. She really wanted to get away from the hot and hunky man.
The man that was so close to her but equally out of reach for her. She would never even try to get hold of him.
The moment the car stopped she turned to the man and nodded. "Thank you for the ride, Don Alessandro."
Salvatore nodded. "Julian, the guy that brought you from my parents house will be staying here all day. He will be in the parking lot so you can find him." He omitted the information that he had made sure that others were watching her in the university. Julian would be too obvious as he later realised.
She nodded and stepped out of the car. She saw the familiar car in the parking lot and knew Giovanni was inside the grounds.
At least there would be one similar face that she could see in the grounds other than Marcelo who she was not sure would be here since his parents were no longer in the country.
She huffed when she saw Gio coming her way. He immediately held onto her shoulders with a smile, "Wanna party tonight?" He asked her with a huge excited smile on his face.
Evelyn looked at him with wide eyes, "party?"
"A club," he explained with a huge smile on his face, "Wanna come?"
She shrugged, "okay." She was in a University after all. Parties were a part of it.
