Chaos In The Darkness; Salvatores's Salvation-Chapter 275: The Bianchi’s - II*
She wore a royal blue gown, sweetheart neckline and all along with a gifted piece of emerald necklace by her husband.
Somehow, with Salvatore she had developed a love for jewellery all of a sudden because he had gifted her one necklace.
But that one necklace was enough to get her hooked on something such as receiving presents from her husband.
The Gala was not thrown by her husband but another organisation where they were just guests. But everyone was looking at her, the forbidden Queen of the Allesandro organisation who had risen from the underground after a long time.
The most attention seeking part was that not only had she surfaced after three years, Evelyn looked dazzling. She did not look abused, or victimised in any way. Instead she looked like the Queen she was in the arms of her king.
"I will have to look at the numbers first," Salvatore replied, "why don’t you email them to my assistant? We will see from there."
The man with the proposal nodded, agreeing to send the proposal to anyone that Salvatore had asked to.
Evelyn lightly squeezed his arm and just as he lowered his year, she whispered, "I have to go to the loo, I will be back in a moment."
He nodded and his eyes lingered on her as she left the ballroom and moved towards the bathroom where the signs pointed it to be at.
One more down and she was almost going to reach it. The moment she turned, Evelyn bumped into someone making her almost fall down because of the piece of fabric that was caught in between her feet only for someone to get a hold of her.
He stabilised her only to retrieve his hands the moment it was done. She looked up, just to thank the person only to find a familiar someone.
"You.." she blinked, "You were in the video call with my husband. Adrian Murphy, do I stand correct?"
"Yes, Evelyn." He smiled briefly. "Are you injured?"
"Oh no," she instantly shook her head. "I am fine, thank you."
"That’s quite alright. I take it your husband is here as well?"
The man went straight to the point and Evelyn did not delay him anymore. She nodded, conveying the fact that Salvatore was indeed the establishment.
"I left him near the entrance to the dining hall. You might want to start checking there first."
Adrian nodded. With every smile, he said, "I am going to sit with you for dinner. I’m looking forward to getting to know you, Evelyn."
"Same here," Evelyn smiled And before she knew it, Adrian Murphy sidestepped her and walked away and into the direction of the ballroom.
What is it just in her mind or were his words meant to be conveying some kind of message to her about the future? It seemed like some sort of dark message, containing some kind of prophecy that she was not able to pinpoint. Why did he talk like that, in a riddle?
But he was the front of her husband, and it did not make sense for her to question him when she had the least idea of who he was as a person. Sure, he was like Salvatore give the line of business and the fact that he was the Don, but he must be different given his upbringing was in a totally different country.
Shaking her head softly to herself, Evelyn silently moved towards the washroom in the way of which she met two other women who nodded at her. Almost everyone recognised her even after years of being underground.
One of them even made a small conversation, prying out details just so she could pass it on to her husband and whatever organisation she came from.
But this was something Salvatore and Evelyn had discussed in the car, she had a disease, it took two years for Recovery and at the end of it, here she was in front of people.
That was the same thing she told her, and repeatedly until the woman finally left her alone and Evelyn was again, on her way to the strangely long route to the bathroom.
Finally, she saw the sign to the ladies restroom And without waiting for a moment, she barged inside. Noticing that there were stalls available, she did not lock the door right after her.
The first thing she did was wash her hands. Not that they were dirty, but she felt like washing them just to calm herself.
The kind of parties, like these, Evelyn could count on her hand how many she had attended till now and almost all of them were at the side of Salvatore.
Never with her father, never with the ex boyfriend, just with her husband and that too merely a handful of times.
So, after sometime the nerves were starting to cause some trouble and at the moment, Evelyn was, maybe, having some kind of panic attack because her heart would not stop beating rapidly.
"Why?" She winced. Maybe it had been a long time since she had been in a public party, but it has not been forever or too long for her to feel this way. They would not even into half way of it yet and Evelyn felt like getting the hell out of here and to her home.
The door opened and her eyes immediately went there.
It was normal for another person to come and use the washroom, but the moment Evelyn saw the face of the woman who had entered, recognition crossed her face before the realisation settled in. She knew the woman and she had known the woman for ages.
"Maria?" Evelyn gasped, "What are you doing here?" What was her nanny doing here out of four places?
"Oh," The woman nervously smiled, "I.. Uh.." instead of answering her, Maria turned around to lock to do it before standing in front of it again. "I am sorry, Evelyn. I hope you have it in me to forgive Me."
"What is going on?"
Just as Evelyn finished, the huge mirror covering almost the entire world opened from the inside.
