Chapter 177: A naive mistake - I

Knocking on the door of her neighbours apartment, Evelyn had a huge smile on her face as it opened and her daughter ran towards her.

"Mummy!" Arabella ran and hugged her legs immediately and squeezed them as tightly as she could. "I missed you so much!"

Evelyn chuckled. She reached down and put arabella into her arms making the little one grab her legs around her waist. Her heart might be in the happiness and warmth it felt.

"Hello you," she whispered into her neck and took in the baby scent. "I miss you so much, my baby." She nuzzled into her neck making Arabella giggle.

This was the reason that she had to kidnap and kill people but she was fine with it. These people who were no better and had done much worse than what Evelyn was doing.

At least her reason was to protect someone so innocent.

Into the giggle, arabella let out a huge on opening her little mouth before closing a chat with allowed hummes and once again putting her head over her mama’s shoulder.

"Tired, aren’t we?" Evelyn mumbled to her before she looked in and saw her neighbour standing there with a soft smile on her face.

"You must be tired, Diwa." Evelyn winced, "I apologize for taking this long." By far Evelyn had always come home by time. If not t minutes past 5 then she would be here approximately at 6 but this time she had crossed 8 o’clock in the night.

"It’s fine." Diwa waved her off. "I am going to sleep anyway. It was nice to have her keep me company." She went inside her apartment and brought the bag that arabella carried with her everywhere and Evelyn made sure to put every essential into.

Evelyn took it from her gratefully and wished good night to her neighbour before moving out.

She onces again walked into her apartment that was now clean of any evidence of a man’s presence inside. It had taken her a long time but she had been successful.

"Do you want to take a bath?" Evelyn sniffed loudly and they made a disgusted face. "I think someone is getting a little stinky."

"Not me." Arabella’s sleepy voice called out. "Must be Julie, tink."

By the voice and the sleepy expression on her face it was clear that arabella was going to sleep any minute possible.

She sighed a little. Giving arabella bath was going to be a hassle and she was definitely going to create a fuss which is why Evelyn just placed her in the cradle.

It was an expense that she constantly had to make because arabella was not here big enough to sleep in her bed and Evelyn could spare the expense on the two bedroom apartment for at least 2-3 years.

Changing into her night clothes which was a simple pajama and top, she fell into the hard mattress and went to sleep.

Arabella immediately went into the arms of the neighborhood with a little squeal. "Park!" She yelled and diwa laughed,

"Yes, yes. We will be going to the park today." Diwa confirmed with a smile. "I think I like you more than my children." She admitted making Bella laugh and Evelyn chuckle.

"Okay then," Evelyn straightened aap and away from the door that she was leaning on. "I’ll be leaving then."

With the last smooch kiss on her daughter’s cheek and a goodbye to her neighbour, Evelyn moved inside the apartment and closed the door so that no one could enter without her knowing.

She moved to the closet that she had purposely put a rubber band on so that Arabella would not be able to open it.

Evelyn unwrapped the rubber around the knobs and threw it on the bed before opening the doors for the wardrobe.

Her eyes went to the lower right corner of the closet.

"Hello you," she wished and Marcello cracked an eye open.

He did not even try to protest and closed his eyes again.

Evelyn had pushed him into the small space and obviously his bulky and buffy form could not take it but since he had no other option, he didn’t move.

She had tied her clothes around his feet and hands and his mouth. Since they were cotton T-shirts there was no chance of him being able to break it and she was not stupid enough to use zip ties.

She reached over with a huff and pulled at his gag. "How are you? Hungry?"

"Not that I have been kidnapped," he Muttered in a croaky voice, "but you might be the most considerate kidnapper I have ever seen."

Really? "Maybe because I am not one," she snapped lightly. "So? Are you hungry or not?"

He exhaled loudly and quickly as if forced to answer her. "What do you think, Evelyn?" 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

He was.

She got up and moved outside to the makeshift table where she had placed a paper bag which contained two muffins.

Bring in back with her, she sat down in front of him crossing her legs and tore a piece of it before holding it against his lips.

"Here," she warned as she put it in his mouth and he started to chew softly.

"You were right when you said that you are not a kidnapper." He muttered in between bites and opened his eyes a little bit, enough to let her know that he was looking at her. "Because now kidnapper would be stupid enough to feed the vitcim."

"You are not a victim." The words slipped out of her mouth before she could put a lock on them.

He huffed. "Arabella," Marcelo whispered under his breath but knew that she would be able to hear it. "Little arabella."

Evelyn’s hand stopped midway. It was in between them, raised in the air, unmoving as one side of his lips tilted into a smirk.

"You are not a kidnapper Evelyn," he chuckled. "Otherwise you would have kept your weakness far away."
