Chapter 173: Caught - III

"I might want something," he admitted with the small nod of his head. "But would you be willing to give that up?"

The fear of the worst thing possible happening made her mind go blank and number for a second.

Did he know? But how could he know?

The blood that she had left behind must have given them the impression that she could just more than hurt.

It must have told them that she was not the only one that had and someone else might have been injured when she said it from the stairs too.

So there was no possibility that Marcelo would just assume that she was still with her child. How did he know that her child was a life with the amount of blood that was on the stairs?

A sudden snap of fingers in front of her eyes made Evelyn jerk out of her thoughts.

"I have not even asked for it yet and you are already lost in your faults," Marcello noted with an observant look. "Perhaps we should leave it here?"

"Catherine?" Peter hissed for attention. "Are you sure that I should not call the cops? I can tell the staff to do it."

Why would he ask her if she was sure or not? Evelyn had not asked him anything in the first place.

"No." She answered him. "There is no need for you to do anything, Peter.’

"Oh no," Marcello shook his head, "please, by all means go ahead and call the cops."

The man had a smile on his face As he told the other man to call the security forces on him. "I think you should do the best for your friend. If I was in your place and someone threatened my friend, I would definitely be doing more than this."

"What?" Peter muttered. "What would you do?"

Marcello chuckled. His finger teased the brim of the coffee cup. "I told you I kill people for a living. So if anyone ever tried to frighten the security of my friends,"

Marcelo once again repeated the expression of raising his two fingers together and pointed them towards him. "I hope you now know What this means now."

If he did not then Evelyn would seriously start to consider his IQ level even after the amount of books that he had to read in his entire life.

"You cannot kill people." Peter spoke in one breath. "You cannot kill people because it is illegal. If you try to kill me or Catherine, the police will know and you will be put away for a long, long time."

Was he not getting the dangerous Vibes that Marcelo was sending to everyone?

He was in a fitted black suit, taller and much bulkier than anyone ever and would instantly make any one feel insecure because of the muscles that he had hidden underneath the clothes.

Anyone would try not to cross his way and when he showed a gun by emitting one in his fingers and the factory had opened the admitted killing and laundering people twice, helped Peter in understanding the fact that he was not joking about what he did for a living.

Seriously, this man had so many fantasy books in his library both in the shop and in the house. How the hell did Peter not recognise the signs?

"You could always try to call the cops on me." Marcello very easily gave him the go-ahead. " I would love to see you try. In fact I am not sure what I would love to see more. With your reaction towards what would happen if all the facts with what I would do after it with you."

Evelyn knew the answer to that. He would love to see what he could do to Peter after all of this was over.

"What are you doing in London, Marcello?’ Evelyn asked the question that had been on the tip of her tongue from the beginning of this meeting.

She understood why Giovanni had been in the town. She also knew that many others were going to go there which is why she had hightailed out of there the first chance she was there but this town was in a different country. Why did Marcelo come here?

He chuckled. The same wolfish that his brother gave. "I cannot reveal every business plan to you now Evelyn, can I?"

Perhaps it was the time to start begging. He was not going out of there any time soon. He even had the money probably in his pocket at the moment to buy the whole cafe within minutes. So there was going to be absolutely no reason for him to get out of here anytime soon and if he did not leave then she was not going to leave either.

"Please," she began. "I work at an office now. I need to leave before my lunchtime is over." I also have a daughter that I would love to go back to without risking the fact that you might be tailng me.

"Ah, yes," he nodded. "You just buy now after all the millions in your account have been untouched for a long time. I was wondering how you have been faring without them."

She left him wondering about that.

Leaving her food untouched Evelyn pig of the leftover coffee cup which was still full but now cold, and moved out of the cafe signalling Peter on her way out that was probably the best time for him to leave if he did not want to end up dead.

He scrambled to gather his things up and without touching his food at the removed out of the cafe and ran into the opposite direction from both her and the cafeteria where Marcelo was sitting.

Evelyn came a few blocks away from her office boys and entered the building that was still empty of employees who must be on their lunch breaks.

Taking a seat on her designated table and chair, Evelyn placed her head in her hands. This was a mess and this was the one that she could not bloody get out of.
