Chapter 124: A small Trouble - II

The next time she broke up there was an irritating sound next to her. It went beep beep beep.

Truly an irritating sound and Evelyn would do anything to shut up.

"Evelyn?" She heard a familiar voice but it took time for her to decipher who it was. "Are you awake? Agatha, go and call the doctor!"

It was Alexis. There was probably no one else that Agatha would listen to like that.

Evelyn opened her eyes to find herself in the same room that she had fainted in.

She licked her dry lips as her eyes moved to Alexis who was sitting beside her. "Wh-what?"

"You fainted, Evelyn." Alexis whispered informing her about what had happened. "I have called the doctor."

She was slightly irritated at the sudden smothering that she received after years by someone. Evelyn tried to set up and Alexis immediately placed a below behind her back making her more comfortable than ever.

"Probably just exhaustion," she murmured. "I think I’m really tired these days.’ she closed her eyes and was on the verge of taking another nap. Why was she so tired these days?

Alexis sighed and patted Evelyn’s knee. "Maybe, you should tone down on the wedding preparations?"

"That depends on how much work she is doing." A man entered and by the stethoscope and white coat in his hands Evelyn knew that he was the doctor. "Tell me miss bianchi, when was the last time that you exercised?"

Exercise? Should she not be told to rest more?

"Why are you asking that instead of telling her to rest more?" Alexis, who had the same thought as her, did not feel afraid to voice it out.

The Doctor gave her a nod of respect. "A person feels lethargic all the time when they do not exercise enough. I would tell her to rest but it is also important to notice if she is exercising enough already. So," he looked at Evelyn now, "do you exercise at all?"

Suddenly she felt aware of the attention she received from everyone in the room. Liam; the bodyguard, the doctor, Alexis and Agatha were all looking at her waiting for her to answer.

And it was the very answer that Evelyn dreaded to give.

The only exercise that she could consider doing was the stairs in the apartment that she would climb many times in the day just so she could have some snacks from the kitchen.

"No. .." she whispered and the doctor nodded.

"I would advise you to bring some activity in your routine. It is the only way to get the laziness and sleepiness out of the way. Other than that if you want to get some tests done I would recommend you to come to my office where I have the equipment." He spoke in one go before getting up, "is there something else Mrs alessandro?"

Alexis turned to Evelyn with expectation and Evelyn shook her head. There was no other problem that she could find herself.

"No," Alexis turned around to give the answer to a doctor before thanking him.

Evelyn watched as Agatha escorted the doctor out. She felt awful guilty when she saw how worried Alexis had been.

The moment that the doctor was out along with Agatha, she took her chance to Apologize.

"I am very sorry for this. I had no intention of worrying you. I swear I’m going to exercise now." Evelyn set it all in one breath and Alexis barely held back her smile.

"You are going to exercise now?" She repeated with a slight taunt. "I think you should stop joking to yourselves."

This civilian could be very sarcastic and Evelyn learnt that today.

With a nervous gulp, she asked, "could you not mention this to Salvatore? He is trying to clear some time for honeymoon so I don’t want to burden him."

Alexis looked visibly torn for that. "Erm," she hesitated before giving in to it eventually, " okay. But take care, yeah?"

She nodded and slowly she got out of the bed and made her way to wear her dress. Alexis followed behind her and they both once again hovered over to the dress.

"You thought of what you want to do with that?" Alexis was prepared as she once again touched the cloth of the dress.

"Personal fascination for Lace or maybe something sheer," Evelyn shrugged indecisively at the moment. "Maybe, I would change something regarding that."

*****

Alexis was not satisfied with the two or three changes that level and had verbally talked about. Since the wedding was merely a month away which was four weeks, Axis had taken her to the boutique under her name and they had started working on the dress immediately.

Now late in the evening she was finally going home.

The moment she stepped into the left Evelyn felt herself shaking and her bones. She took off her kitten heels, unable to carry on her day in them.

Just as the doors to the left open after succeeding in the passcode, Evelyn found herself in front of a very rare and peculiar sight.

There were two candles littered around the living room and with rose petals all around. No lights were on but the candles gave it such a soft glow that Evelyn was mesmerized by the side.

"How do you find it?" Salvatore arrived from the stairs and Evelyn immediately changed direction before walking towards him.

She was in his arms, she replied, "I thought we were keeping it after the marriage."

With a chuckle, he replied, "I just thought of giving you a glimpse of what married life is going to be like with me."

Evelyn frowned slightly when she found him pulling back. She felt his fingers on her chin as he tilted it up to look at him.

"Evelyn," he began for the first time she saw sincerity in Those eyes, "I am going to mess it up." He admitted and she blinked in shock.

"I am one of those who lead the most criminally organised businesses in the world. I am wanted everywhere and one slip from me could end up in my entire family and Empire getting destroyed," he paused a second to make sure that she was listening.

"What I want to say here is," he cupped her cheek, "I am going to do my best in protecting you. I am going to do my best to provide for you and I will do that until my very end, be it today or tomorrow or maybe even 10 years from now."

Evelyn could feel her lips begin to tremble. "Are those your vows?" She asked while barely keeping on the edge to cry.

He chuckled, "yes and you get them now. I can’t do that in front of the others at my wedding." 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

Evelyn chuckled through her tears and sealed the happy moment with a kiss.

It was all going to be perfect and she could see it.

"The wedding is going to be soon." She whispered as their foreheads joined together. Salvatore had to lean down a bit.

"Are you nervous?" He asked instead of commenting on it. "And you have not decided who will walk you down the aisle."

Ah, yes, that. Evelyn sighed loudly.

She was yet to decide on who would be the person to walk down the aisle. It did not seem right that her father was not the one to walk down when he was the one that had taken care of her all her life. She was his daughter and the right was reserved solely for him.

The next thing she could think of was family relatives and none of them were worthy enough to do that either. The moment her father had died, they had descended on her like vultures and that had made her cross them out of her list immediately.

"I don’t know who to give that title to." She admitted to him as they gently swayed while keeping their foreheads joined together. "My father is no longer there and the only people I know are my family members who totally do not deserve it. Hence, I am left with practically no one."

One name came to her mind but Evelyn knew it would take her time to accept the reality. That name was of someone she hardly knew but had taken care of her in the times when her father had left her hand.

"Do you want me to help you out?" He whispered against her lips and Evelyn could barely control the tingle that you felt in between her thighs.

"No, thank you." She had it all figured out, she just had to accept it.

Before long Salvatore took her to the dining table and once again she sat on his thighs. It seemed like the perfect place for her to take.

Salvatore fed her one bite before taking one for himself. The entire evening went perfectly and the fainting session was something Evelyn completely forgot about.

Salvatore raised his glass and Evelyn did the same, "To our Marriage. Our life together."

"To our Marriage," she repeated after him before clinking the glasses together.

The promise was sealed.
