Chaos In The Darkness; Salvatores's Salvation-Chapter 121: A yes, it is. - I
It felt like she was seconds away from death. This could go to ways, either she could jump into a deadly cliff or steer onto the smooth road.
"I am going not to accept it." The words left her mouth quicker than she would like. It almost seemed like a lie, like something she would say to save herself on the little pain that was coming her way.
"I mean it," she began to say again, "I am not going to accept and I would never accept a proposal as long as I am with you."
He cocked a brow up,"No cheating?"
She shook her head, "loyalty," she answered.
He tilted his head to the side and kept his eyes on her. "Are you sure about that Evelyn? Because my dear one and only chance to get that ring out of your finger."
That made her decision falter. He was right, that was the only thing that could get that ring out of her finger. But he was also wrong there.
"No," she whispered. "I do want this." She placed her hand on his cheek. "I want you. I want us."
They stared at each other, holding their eyes before Salvatore nodded and was about to say something when Evelyn slapped her hand on her mouth.
Her eyes widened and she gasped before pushing him away and running upstairs. It was a hasty run. Evelyn almost tripped twice before banging opened the door to her room and ran towards the bathroom only to empty the contents of her stomach into the toilet bowl.
It was a disgusting feeling running up her spine as she emptied the contents that were first out of her. Seconds later she could feel hands on her hair that were holding it back.
Not getting to look at the contents of her stomach in the toilet bowl, Evelyn closed her eyes as she continued to vomit. Her throat burned and Evelyn felt the need to cry.
She heaved heavily over the toilet bowl waiting for another vomit to come up when it finally subsided making evelyne sigh in relief.
"Is it done?’ He softly whispered. "Do you want to stay here or should I run some hot water for you?"
"Water," she said.
She felt him get up from behind her and move to the bass drum. Seconds later, the sound of the water heating the tiles was heard and Evelyn could not wait to dip herself in it.
"I’ll be leaving now," he told her. "But hurry since you haven’t eaten."
Evelyn gave him a nod, not being able to talk about it much. The next thing she could think of was taking her clothes off and she had the door to the bathroom shut. She walked to the bathtub and submerged herself before closing the tap.

She might have taken a small nap. The small nap had been enough for the chef to be sent up to knock at the door.
Thankfully, it has not been Marco or Salvatore otherwise they would have seen her sleeping naked in the bathtub.
"I’m really sorry," she apologized to Caria; the chef who was drying Evelyn’s hair, "I really have no idea how I could have fallen asleep!"
"It is alright." Caria gave her soft smile. "It happens at times. When my children were at the university, all they wanted was a good 24 hour nap."
Evelyn chuckled before standing up. She hurriedly applied a moisturizer and just as she did Caria let go of the towel.
"You can keep it at the back of the chair. I will place it in the laundry afterwards." Evelyn hurried out of the room where she knew Salvatore was waiting downstairs at the dining table for her to have dinner.
Not only was she just a minute late. As well and was led by forty-five minutes and if any sane person was running late while meeting with the don they would literally die before going there!
"I am really sorry!" She apologized to the moment Salvatore was visible to her. "I didn’t mean to sleep—’
"Hush," he said as he got up from the chair and moved towards her. Circling his arms around her waist he pulled her to his chest as he whispered lovingly to her, "should I call the doctor for you? That is the fourth time in the week that you have vomited."
It was the first time that he knew what. The other times she made sure that no one else knew by making sure that the speaker had blasted loud music covering every sound of retrenching.
"I’m fine," she shook her head. "I have some cervical problems and it’s probably the cold." The weather was changing after all.
Salvatore lightly robbed her bag before saying, "I will make sure to tell Marco not only to leave the house without being properly clothed then."
Evelyn chuckled.
It was not always that the dawn was so carelessly caring. This was the care that you always wanted. The selfless care that she could receive from any man in this world that she had borne in. The very care and affection that she had been deprived of from father was something she was receiving from Salvatore.
He was a sensible man who was mature, well-dressed, educated, understanding and not to mention he did have money. He had enough money that if he were to retire today, the next ten generations of this family could go on without having to worry about any kind of income.
He was a perfect catch for anyone but in her case he also cared.
Not every marriage was supposed to be all thrill and fireworks, some marriages and relationships could just have peace and rainbows in them. The things that would bring a person calm.
Evelyn placed her head on his chest as she wondered, was calm that was not something needed in this world at the moment?
Who was she to deny it when she was getting it?
Finally making up her mind Evelyn looked up while her chin remained on his chest, "let’s get married." She told him. "I want to marry you."
And for the first time, Evelyn saw the beautiful smile that came on Salvatore’s face before he leaned down and kissed her lips.
