Chapter 70: Chapter 69:BIG MISTAKE!!

My dungeon run from the 32nd floor till the 39th floor was exactly as you could’ve guessed...

Another smooth wreck-it-ralphaton.

It was honestly fun watching the tower of ascension tweak out..

It tried to come up with so many counters that it was almost breaking its own rules...

And this was just a projection of its abilities onto the solarium spire, I could hardly imagine what the true tower would do when I finally paid it a proper visit..

I honestly couldn’t wait to be done with these trials, the very thought that I still had another test after this one was extremely jarring to me...

I was already sick of this one,the excitement having faded after realizing how weak the creatures were, the tower’s crash out being the only thing still keeping it mildly interesting, so one could easily imagine the amount of enthusiasm I’d bring to the next one...

It was with depressing thoughts that I appeared on the 40th floor..

My 4th boss floor...

The teleportation was a bit different this time around. It didn’t snap, there wasn’t that "instantaneous" feeling it usually had.

It stretched. For a second, It felt like I was being pulled through a straw before my boots hit the ground—or whatever was left of it.

I wasn’t in a crystal hallway anymore. I’d been sent to another domain entirely, standing on a floating disk of cracked obsidian in the middle of a literal starless void. There was no wind. No sound. No hum of insects. The silence was so absolute it actually hurt to listen to.

I tried to take a deep breath to prime my lungs, and my chest hitches. There was barely enough air to keep a candle flickering, let alone fuel a shockwave.

And Then, it rose from the edge of the abyss.

It looked like a Cyclops. A massive, 100-foot tall statue of weathered, darkened bronze, covered in glowing silver runes. It didn’t have a club, its arms were folded across its chest like a god waiting for a prayer. But where its head should’ve been.. there was just a screaming, swirling hole of nothingness...

{EVOLVED}{MUTATED}<Void-Stargazer(C)>

"This tower just won’t quit will it?"

The "eye" of this thing wasn’t even an eye. It was a literal rift into the cold dark emptiness, a localized black hole held together by a frame of bronze muscle. I could feel the very forces that made the structural atmosphere of this floor being sucked into that swirling void—the thin, precious atmosphere of the 40th floor—being sucked into that swirling darkness in a visible, spiraling stream.

The Tower wasn’t even pretending anymore. This thing wasn’t even a test, it was a "Delete" button. I didn’t have any idea what the hell this was, but I was sure it had nothing doing masquerading as a C-rank trial boss.

The tower had designed this abomination, slapped a C-rank tag on it then placed it on this floor, its entire existence dedicated to one thing and one thing only. making sure I had absolutely nothing to hit it with.

I looked at my fist. I could feel the atmospheric pressure I usually hold starting to fray, pulled toward that gravitational maw.

"Oh... so we’re playing that game now?"

I couldn’t help muttering softly, not an ounce of worry on my face, instead, I felt excited. Yes. EXCITED.

<Abyssal Firmament Dominion> would’ve made light work of the tower’s attempts..

Hell, I could have recreated the very thing it was trying to prevent me from using, then used that same thing to crush the glorified tin can, but..

"Where’s the fun in that?"..

I could feel a grin spreading across my face—the kind of grin that usually precedes a very expensive repair bill for whoever was managing the solarium spire(hopefully it’s that bitch ass tower)..

"You thought taking away the atmosphere would be enough? You thought I needed the atmosphere to pack a proper punch??"

I started walking forward, my boots clanking against the obsidian disk, straight toward the creature that was designed to be my "Hard Stop."

"Hey, Tower... thanks for the vacuum. But I think it’s about time I showed you exactly what happens when I stop holding back and start using the weight of my own ego instead."

**********

Outside the tower...

"Oh come on!!!!"

"Boooooo!!!!! Boooooo!!!!! Call the overseer, the test is cheating...

"Stop the pettiness.....

The crowd went crazy the moment they saw the 100-foot fraud that was posing as a C-rank monster..

It didn’t matter how much the tower suppressed the creature, it didn’t matter if it’s major abilities were sealed or unavailable..

They were sure that...thing.. had no business being there..

"What the hell even is that??" Someone asked within the crowds..

The confusion was real, the entire congregation not even having any information on what just spawned within the 40th floor...

"That’s...that’s a void stargazer..."

"What the hell is a void stargazer doing in a c-rank trial????" The supervisors recognized the monstrosity, but because they did, their shock was multiple times worse..

Stargazers were not your runoff the mill monsters, they were creatures found in only one place, the true tower of ascension itself, and not just on any floor, they were middle floor threats...

A void-stargazer was the evolved version of the original stargazers, its abilities an absolute horror to contend against, with it being able to nullify attacks, absorb damage, cause TRUE DAMAGE to both the body and soul and a whole slew of stupid abilities that made it a terror to anyone climbing the tower...

So it was understandable when one spawned in a mere C-rank trial, that they’d be shocked..

"Calm down, none of those creatures are real, you know that.. the void-stargazer is merely just a projection of the real thing, a very very limited one at that" Valen’s voice cut through their concerns..

"We know, lord Valen, but even with all that, a void stargazer is still a void stargazer, even a fraction of its abilities are not something a. E-rank awakened should face, especially not a new one" a supervisor countered..

"Just watch and see, if the participant known as Dante had decided to be reckless and was now getting punished for it, he can only blame himself" his tone was final, signaling the end of the conversation..

His gaze returned to the scene of Dante slowly walking up the towering creature..

"You made the tower take notice, now make sure it’s attention remains fixed on you" he muttered under his breath..

*********

As I walked towards the hulking creature, It turned its head, the swirling void of what should have been its face, facing toward me.

I could feel the suction from the demanding void, it wasn’t just sucking in the atmosphere, I could feel it trying to suck out my very essence when it’s gaze turned on me..

"Interesting...but if that’s all you can do" I muttered softly, now within ten meters of the creature...

The size disparity was insane, I looked like a spec of dust before it...

"Hahaha.. this is the second time something is actually making me feel small, damn" I laughed...

"Let’s see how Durable you are".. saying so, I clenched my fist....

The tower thought itself smart..

Take away the atmosphere and he can’t hit hard...

"No more holding back"

My aura shifted instantly...

The emptiness around me began to quake..

It was gentle at first, till it became a deep, thunderous rumble that shook the nothingness surrounding me...

My hair flared, despite the lack of wind, my eyes burned with a golden luster, illuminating the darkness around me...

The ability kinetic mass amplification from my tempest tyrant physique roaring to life...

I pushed my <Primordial Titan’s Strength> to its absolute peak, power thrumming through my veins, and just for added surety I activated..

<Divine Apotheosis(SS)>..

Boooom.... Crack...:

The empty void around me shattered with a deafening explosion as my aura roared out of of control...

The force of it blasting the creature a few feet back...

"You wanted to test me without pressure forces?" My voice came out deep, hollow, echoing all around the already fissuring space..

"BIG MISTAKE!"

I punctuated those words with a casual swing of my arm, the effect being anything but casual...

Crack...THOOOOOOMMMMM!!!!!!

The creature barely had time to stabilize itself before the blow landed...

It Was instantly disintegrated together with the entire floor..

I barely had enough time to see The floor vanish, as instantly, a light teleported me to the next floor..

The destruction this time round was so thorough I didn’t even get the chance to witness the beauty of it..
