CEO's Sweetheart is a Super Idol-Chapter 358 - 350: Assigning Rooms
Shenghai
Yuwei and the others were brought to the dormitory by the management team.
"Wow! Is this for real?"
Lv Fangxin looked utterly surprised. She hadn’t expected the company to rent them an entire villa.
"This place is so beautiful and luxurious!" Yuwei remarked, smiling as well.
"I like the colors here—blue. It kind of reminds me of my uniform," Lai Ruoxuan added with a laugh.
As they walked into the European-style villa, everyone appeared genuinely happy and excited.
First of all, the place was truly amazing. The decor was extravagant, with blue as the dominant color. Everywhere they looked felt like being immersed in the ocean, which instantly lifted their spirits.
Secondly, they were being filmed, and all of this would be material for their official social media posts.
"How big is this villa?" Meng Meixuan asked with a laugh as she ascended the solid-wood spiral staircase.
"Over 800 square meters, complete with a garage," the management staff following them responded. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
The few who went up to the second floor found there were six rooms in total, varying in size.
"I like this room. You can see the garden from here!" Wu Zixuan said excitedly as she threw herself onto the bed. The goose-down mattress was soft and cozy.
"I like this room. The bed reminds me of those fairytale beds I saw in books when I was a child," Jiang Mengqi said as she entered a room with two single beds.
This room looked like a scene straight out of an old European fairy tale.
Li Zimeng, with her quiet and reserved nature, walked into a room by the stairs. The furnishings in this room were fascinating, and there was a large cherrywood vanity table.
"I don’t care which room—I’m staying with Zixuan," Fu Xiaoyu declared, wrapping her arms around the other’s waist.
"What are you doing? Clinging to me like this, you’re scaring off anyone who might like me," Wu Zixuan teased, pretending to struggle.
"Who would like you? You snore when you sleep."
"Ah! That’s not true. I’m a quiet little beauty!"
Wu Zixuan quickly retorted with an adorably sweet smile.
Yang Ni trailed quietly behind; she didn’t dare to join in the lively chatter, let alone suggest who she wanted to room with.
"Yuwei, can I stay with you?" Zhang Zijing shyly asked, holding onto the former’s arm.
Even though they had made their debut as a group, Zhang Zijing still found it hard to fully open up in front of the others.
She often hesitated to speak up when talking to assistants or management staff.
She felt that saying too much would bother others, leaving her feeling awkward.
Most of the time, it was Lv Fangxin who looked out for her.
"Of course! Let’s stay together," Yuwei agreed without hesitation.
The final room assignments were as follows:
Meng Meixuan and Duan Yuxin.
Lv Fangxin, Fu Xiaoyu, and Wu Zixuan.
Jiang Mengqi, Yang Ni, and Lai Ruoxuan.
Yuwei and Zhang Zijing.
Li Zimeng had her own room.
This arrangement left Li Zimeng feeling a bit uneasy and disappointed.
"We still have an empty room. It’d be a waste not to use it," Yuwei suddenly said.
"I’ll take it then! I want to live alone," Lv Fangxin volunteered, raising her hand.
Everyone immediately understood that Yuwei was looking out for Li Zimeng’s feelings.
Being a foreigner and naturally quiet, if Li Zimeng were left to live alone, she might overthink things, and fans might blow things out of proportion.
Li Zimeng gave Yuwei and Lv Fangxin a grateful glance.
Meng Meixuan, however, felt a little displeased. Still, when it came to handling such situations, Yuwei was more experienced.
Night fell.
The garden’s gentle breeze carried the fragrance of flowers and greenery into the rooms.
Wearing silk pajamas, Yuwei and Zhang Zijing lay side by side on the large double bed.
Out of all the days so far, this was the first time they went to bed this early.
"Yuwei, is this the start of a new life for us?"
"Of course. From now on, this will be our home."
"Yuwei, how does this place compare to the one your old group had?"
Hearing Zhang Zijing’s question, Yuwei thought for a moment.
"The difference is worlds apart. Plus, every aspect of the environment here is much better."
"Yuwei, do you still keep in touch with people from your old group?"
Zhang Zijing propped herself up as she spoke.
Under the moonlight streaming through the window, her eyes sparkled.
When Yuwei first returned to Shenghai, Li Jiaqi had called her, wanting to meet up.
"Yes, I do. I have friends from that group."
"What kind of friends? How close are they to you?"
"The kind of friends who would save their last bowl of food for me."
Hearing this, Zhang Zijing felt a pang of jealousy. She hadn’t meant to ask but couldn’t help herself.
"Zijing, don’t overthink it. You know how it is in our line of work—if we each pursue our own careers, it’s inevitable that we drift apart."
"...So, you’ll still see them sometimes? Will you go out together?"
"Of course we’ll see each other. But in my heart, my career will always come first."
"Career!"
Zhang Zijing mulled over that word carefully. Deep down, she felt a mix of discontent and determination.
But she was also career-driven. Having overcome so many challenges to debut, her goal was naturally to achieve fame and success.
After a moment of contemplation, she stopped asking questions and curled up into Yuwei’s arms.
"Yuwei, I feel so lonely and scared. Even though we’re always surrounded by people and teammates, I feel like you’re my only anchor."
"Zijing, I understand how you feel. I felt the same way before," Yuwei said, gently patting Zhang Zijing’s shoulder. "We have to learn to adapt to our environment and grow up. We’ll have to stand on our own eventually."
The night grew deeper.
Meng Meixuan couldn’t sleep. She sat at her desk, sipping tea.
"Meixuan, you’re still up?" a groggy Duan Yuxin asked as she got out of bed.
Feeling thirsty, she wanted a drink of water.
Meng Meixuan turned to look at the youngest member of the group. She noticed how the girl seemed to have matured a bit—still innocent but also slightly more grown-up.
"Meixuan, could I have some of your tea? I’m a little thirsty,"
Duan Yuxin didn’t notice the look in her eyes. To her, Meng Meixuan was like an older sister.
"Go ahead," Meng Meixuan said, handing her tea cup over.
Duan Yuxin took a big sip, the rich flavor immediately filling her mouth.
"Thanks, Meixuan."
"Want more? I can pour you another cup."
"No, thanks. If I drink any more, I won’t be able to sleep."
Meng Meixuan smiled and nodded, taking Duan Yuxin’s hand in hers. "You’re really determined. You’ve lost so much weight over these past months."
"I managed, but I almost developed an eating disorder,"
Duan Yuxin admitted with a hint of fear. She noticed a strange glint in Meng Meixuan’s eyes under the lamplight that unsettled her a bit.
But Meng Meixuan let go of her hand. "Get some rest. We’ve got a lot of work tomorrow."
As Duan Yuxin went to change into her pajamas, she wondered if she had imagined it all.
Downstairs
When Wu Zixuan went to the kitchen to grab some bottled water, she noticed a shadow there.
It startled her so much that her hair practically stood on end, and she almost screamed.
But soon, under the moonlight, she realized it was Lv Fangxin.
"Fangxin, what are you doing? Why are you still up?"
"I’m looking for something cold to drink. What about you?"
"Same. You scared me! Why didn’t you turn on the light?"
"I thought the light would be too bright. Besides, I’m in my pajamas."
Wu Zixuan was speechless at this explanation. What kind of habit was that?
"Fangxin, aren’t you here for water? What’s with the dessert in your hand?"
"...I... I got hungry. I wanted to eat something."
"Why didn’t you eat more during dinner?"
"The assistants were there! I didn’t dare eat too much. If I did, they’d come over to remind me."
"But you can’t eat desserts at night! You’ll gain weight. If you’re hungry, eat some veggies instead!"
Lv Fangxin looked at Wu Zixuan in shock. She had thought sneaking food when the assistants weren’t looking would be fine. She hadn’t expected Wu Zixuan to be so strict about it.
She knew that Wu Zixuan, Yuwei, and the others always appeared carefree, eating freely on camera. But in reality, they were incredibly disciplined about their diets.
Meat was almost entirely off the table, and their daily meals consisted of minimal vegetables and carbs.
She couldn’t imagine how they managed to suppress their appetites.
Reluctantly, and under Wu Zixuan’s stern gaze, she obediently put the dessert back in the fridge.
"Seriously! If we can’t eat them, why leave these things around?"
Seeing her grumble like a child, Wu Zixuan couldn’t help but laugh.
