CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 98 - 106: For Beauty
Because after Jane Sampson turned 16, too many people told her, "you should be content, you should be grateful."
They were so high and mighty, like they were bestowing charity.
It seemed like everyone really forgot to ask Jane Sampson, "Are you sad? What will you do if you’re unhappy?"
"Do whatever you want to do," Granny Sampson hugged Jane tightly, her heart aching, "and if all else fails, you still have me and your Grandpa Sampson to protect you. We only have one wish, that our little Jane is happy."
Jane Sampson nearly sobbed uncontrollably in Granny Sampson’s arms.
"I’m sorry, I can’t be the Jane you’re most satisfied with," Jane gently held Granny Sampson, her voice trembling slightly, "because that’s really too tiring."
"Your grandma and I hope that you’re genuinely happy, not just pretending for us," Granny Sampson’s warm hand gently caressed Jane’s hair.
"Okay," Jane nodded forcefully and then rested her face in the elderly palm.
The warmth of the elderly palm seemed to seep into her very soul.
"Work hard, and your grandma and I will be waiting for our little Jane to become a big star," after saying this, Grandpa Sampson called for Aunt Green to slice oranges and reached for the corn biscuits, "C’mon, I’ll share these with you."
Jane Sampson let out a laugh thanks to Grandpa Sampson, took the biscuit, and smiled ingratiatingly, just like when she was little, "Thank you, Grandpa, you’re the best! I love my Grandpa the most in the family!"
Hearing this, Granny Sampson and Old Sir Sampson burst into hearty laughter. Yes, this was their little Jane, clever and cunning.
Since there was nothing urgent, Jane stayed in the countryside for two nights before leaving. After going back, Jane felt a lot more relaxed. In this world, she could deceive anyone without any burden on her conscience, but she didn’t want to fool those two elderly people.
So, this time when she went back to the countryside, she wanted to tell them about her wish to become an actor.
To her surprise, without needing to say much, the elderly were so open-minded that they agreed instantly.
That evening when Jane returned home, she saw that many new people had joined the drama crew group, and from Daniel Taylor’s introduction, she learned that the actors for the film crew had essentially all been finalized.
The male lead and female lead were big names; River Song was a Golden Shadow Movie King, and Olivia Chip had won the Best Newcomer Award.
They were super popular actors, the kind that naturally brought topics and popularity.
Jane scanned the messages and was halfway through when Rock Bell’s call came in.
"All the main characters for ’March Night’ have been set. Daniel Taylor just called me, and I’m informing you, prepare to go to City C in ten days for the costume fitting photoshoot. Before the shoot, I’ve found a lines teacher for you to learn well with. You’ve got just over a week, learn as much as you can."
"Don’t worry, Sister Tin, I will study seriously." Since she had entered the profession, Jane had never planned to slack off.
"During this period, pay attention to your diet and exercise; don’t end up injuring somewhere or coming with a face full of acne for the costume fitting shoot. Normally, minor roles like yours wouldn’t get a turn for such publicity shots, but Daniel Taylor is looking out for you, letting you in, so don’t let down his care for you."
Listening to Rock Bell’s earnest instructions, Jane had no reason not to comply.
After hanging up the phone, Jane lay on the sofa, sighing for a few seconds.
From now on, no more instant noodles, and it was time to say goodbye to potato chips.
She would probably have to give up candy too, right?
Touching the recently vanished shadow of a pimple on her chin, Jane thought, for beauty, don’t you have to make some sacrifices?
