CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 85 - 93: Not Bad for You
Peter Gingery was at a loss for words when James Black turned the question back on him.
Jane Sampson was beautiful, in person and in photos, there was no denying that.
But...
Peter Gingery noticed that James Black showed not a bit of the emotion one would have expected after Jane’s prank, and subsequently let out a sigh, wondering to himself why his brother didn’t seem angry but rather appeared quite pleased.
Besides, where did Jane Sampson get the guts to mess with James Black’s phone, making such a big fuss with it? 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
Wasn’t the little lass afraid that James Black would cut her down?
Meanwhile, Jane Sampson in the hotel room had no idea that James Black had already seen the mischief she’d done to his phone. James Black had left, and Jane, rolling around in bed, couldn’t fall back asleep. She decided to get up and wash as soon as it started getting light.
After washing her face and feeling a bit refreshed, Jane pulled back the window curtain and sat in front of the window to flip through the script that Rock Bell had left her last night.
It was over seven o’clock when Rock Bell knocked on Jane’s door, and after having a buffet breakfast on the third floor, they set off to the audition site.
On the taxi, Rock Bell suddenly asked, "James Black was with you last night, wasn’t he?"
"Sister Tin, how did you know?" Jane thought Rock Bell was unaware, given that James Black had left early in the morning and it was unlikely he had bumped into Rock Bell.
"Oh, I came back last night to pick up some stuff and ran into him in the elevator. I saw him holding a pharmacy bag; did he buy medicine for you?" Rock Bell asked, glancing at Jane’s foot injury.
Medicine!
At the mention of medicine by Rock Bell, Jane suddenly smacked her head, realizing she had forgotten to apply the medicine that morning.
Her first thought was, thankfully, James Black wouldn’t be returning tonight, otherwise, she could already predict just how dark his face would get upon finding out she hadn’t listened to him.
Seeing Jane’s expression, Rock Bell knew she had guessed correctly, and after a moment’s thought, she commented, "James Black treats you quite well."
After saying that, Rock Bell then started talking about business. "Did you look at the script last night? Don’t say I didn’t warn you, Daniel Taylor takes actors very seriously and is strict. If you go to the audition without having read the script, and you can’t master the emotions of the role, prepare to be criticized mercilessly in front of everyone."
"I read it, I looked at both roles, and remember all the lines for both characters clearly," Jane assured, patting her chest in a hurry, "I won’t embarrass you, Sister Tin."
"That’s good enough." Although Rock Bell didn’t know how Jane managed to read the script in front of James Black, she was aware that Jane had kept it a secret from him.
But it was Jane’s private matter, and Rock Bell didn’t probe further.
"Of the two roles, which one do you like more? Which role do you feel more confident about?" What Rock Bell meant was, as long as Jane’s acting skills weren’t horrendously bad, she would absolutely secure the desired role for her first.
"Naturally, the one with more screen time," Jane said, "The other role barely has two lines, and I guess after post-production cuts, it would barely show up on screen. Once that small part is done, who would remember that character, right?"
Jane favored the role of the little villain’s sister in the script.
In the script, the siblings are disciples from a mystical Spirit Mountain. The villain takes his young sister downhill to play and loses her.
