CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 82 - 90: Kissing Me is Useless
It turns out that even when someone is very, very angry, they can still manage to smile.
Before, I didn’t get it, but that was because Jane Sampson was too good at pretending. If I still don’t understand her now, then that’s just stupid.
Jane Sampson’s talent for insubordination was significant, and James Black didn’t for a minute believe that Jane truly recognized her mistake. So when he entered and saw the instant noodles on the tabletop, he merely furrowed his eyebrows and threw the noodles away, not bothering to say a single extra word.
He knew that speaking would be useless.
Hence, James Black didn’t take the matter of the instant noodles to heart, and he didn’t expect Jane to bring it up herself. Did she really think that him holding her like this was a form of punishment?
Are women’s thoughts inherently so peculiar?
James Black chuckled. Fine, if it’s a punishment, let it be a punishment.
Unable to wait for James Black to release her or pay her any attention, Jane Sampson ran out of patience and suddenly lifted her face that was almost buried in his chest.
What’s going on?
Does it have to be this coincidental?
As she looked up and he looked down, their lips coincidentally met.
Jane Sampson was stunned for over two seconds before quickly burying her face back in James Black’s arms.
Then, she heard his voice from above her head, deep and tinged with unidentified emotion.
"Kissing me won’t help."
???
Jane Sampson felt like her forehead was covered with question marks. What did he mean by saying that kissing him wouldn’t help?
"James Black, have you misunderstood something?"
Jane Sampson leaned her head back and looked up at the face so close to hers.
"You couldn’t possibly think that what just happened was me kissing you, could you?" Jane Sampson asked seriously, seeing that James Black remained silent, she explained with an even more serious manner, "Just now was a pure accident. I didn’t expect that as I lifted my head, it would coincide with you looking down, and we would just brush lips like that. How does that count as a kiss?"
As if she would ever take the initiative to kiss James Black.
She wasn’t stupid!
"Am I, Jane Sampson, the kind of person who sells herself for her looks?" Jane scoffed.
She is, indeed!
But it depends on the person!
For a man who is as detached from worldly desires as James Black, would selling her looks be of any use?
No one would believe it.
James Black didn’t say anything, just tightened his arms around the person in his arms a little to show that he wasn’t particularly pleased with her explanation. He obviously knew it wasn’t Jane who had kissed him first, but he had said it just to tease her.
The purpose of teasing her wasn’t to hear her earnest and strenuous explanation but to see her get frustrated.
Regrettably, his wish wasn’t granted.
Jane Sampson, held so tight by James Black that she was almost struggling to breathe, wished nothing more than to scratch his unresponsive face. Fortunately, he loosened his embrace after a while, allowing her to breathe freely again.
"Sleep," he said tersely, no longer tormenting Jane Sampson, but at the same time, he didn’t let go of her, maintaining a gentle hold on her still in his arms.
Listening to Jane Sampson’s soft hum, James Black lifted his hand and rubbed her head, then began to speak, "Jane Sampson, my requirements of you are simple, just that you be obedient."
Taking advantage of the darkness, Jane Sampson rolled her eyes freely in James Black’s arms.
Obedient?
Isn’t that a bit too difficult to ask for?
His so-called "being obedient"—isn’t that asking for a bit too much?
Jane Sampson had the enviable gift of falling asleep easily, and being in James Black’s arms wasn’t as unacceptable as she had imagined.
