CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 75 - 83: This Fate Ah
"Hey!" Peter Gingery’s eyes traveled from the woman’s feet across from him up to her face obscured by the magazine, and then from her forehead down to her feet before he suddenly stood up. In Jane Sampson’s despairing sigh, he whipped away the magazine from her face, "Jane, I knew it was you! You’re still pretending to sleep with a magazine over your face, huh? Haha, you didn’t expect this, did you? Even if you turned to ashes, I could still recognize you!"
Jane Sampson’s eyes were filled with despair as she gave Peter Gingery, who was brimming with excitement, a forced smile and managed a hollow chuckle, "I thank you for your concern."
Her whole family would thank him, her ancestors eighteen generations back would thank him!
Grinding her teeth, Jane Sampson glared venomously at Peter Gingery, obliviously on her blacklist, and when she noticed James Black’s gaze had fallen on her, she quickly plastered a smile on her face, raised her hand, and greeted him, "James Black, what a coincidence! I didn’t expect to run into you on the express train. Talk about fate..."
It must be some kind of curse!
Rock Bell truly witnessed Jane Sampson’s acting prowess within a second, and she swore, just for Jane Sampson’s performance, offering her the role of the female lead immediately wouldn’t be too surprising.
It was absolutely mind-blowing.
"Where are you headed?" James Black spoke in a tone that betrayed no fluctuation of emotion, rather indicating he thought Jane was a fool to believe that she could hide her identity with just a magazine over her face.
The clothes she wore, the shoes on her feet, the bracelet on her wrist, they were all the same as when he had seen her in the afternoon, not a speck changed.
He had recognized her as soon as he sat down, but since she was pretending to be asleep, he didn’t expose her right away, curious to see how long she would keep up the act.
"City C," Jane Sampson replied in a muffled voice, and then introduced Rock Bell, sitting beside her, to the man across from her, "This is my sister Tin, Nina Rice’s cousin. I’m currently working with Sister Tin. We’re actually on a business trip to City C to handle some things."
After hearing Jane Sampson’s introduction, James Black remembered, Rock Bell, he had indeed met her, but the interaction had been superficial, so for a moment he just felt she looked familiar without recognizing her.
But when Peter Gingery heard the name Rock Bell, he immediately burst into laughter.
"Sister Tin, do you still remember me? I’m Peter Gingery! Me, Jane, and Nina, we’ve been playing together since we were little! When we were kids, Jane and I used to go to your place with Nina. Then you went abroad to study, and I entered the guardian team’s high school, so we haven’t seen each other since. It’s been many years, and I didn’t expect Sister Tin to have become even more beautiful."
"Of course I remember, I recognized you the moment you got on the train. You still look as handsome as when you were young, and you’ve gotten even better at talking," replied Rock Bell honestly, recognizing Peter Gingery. The big boy hadn’t changed much, his features matured with the distinctive handsomeness of a man, and years in the guard team had made him much steadier and tougher as well.
"Chief Black, can we switch seats so I can catch up with Peter?" Rock Bell asked, smiling at James Black.
Jane Sampson, upon hearing this, quickly looked at Rock Bell, sending her a plea with her eyes not to leave.
James Black hummed an acknowledgment and stood up to switch seats with Rock Bell. Peter Gingery chatted merrily with Rock Bell, whereas Jane Sampson’s heart was in her throat, worried that James Black might ask her about her work or something, afraid she might give herself away.
Fortunately, after James Black switched seats and sat down next to her, he didn’t seem to have any intention of striking up a conversation. The seats were close together, and given that James Black was tall and broad, he took up a lot of space, so his arm was touching hers, the skin warm against her own.
