CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 67 - 75: So Silly
Nina Rice became more and more frustrated as she spoke, "I’m still so young and she’s already so eager to push me out. I got so angry that I booked my own flight ticket and came back. I even sent my resignation letter to the firm’s HR Department’s email. I’ve decided to find a job on my own, so I don’t have to live under her watchful eye anymore."
Jane Sampson, who had never experienced a blind date, felt strangely envious. She had married James Black as soon as she reached the legal age of marriage, without experiencing dating or blind dates, things she had only heard about from others but never experienced herself.
"How unsightly was that man?" Jane Sampson asked out of pure curiosity, "Aunt is a lawyer and sets her standards high. Plus, you’re her only daughter. She wouldn’t just find you someone at random."
Jane Sampson doubted Nina’s description of the man as "unsightly." She felt that Nina’s resistance to blind dates probably made her dislike the blind date candidate as well.
"Untidy, looked as though he hadn’t slept for several days and lacked energy," Nina said. "But to be honest, the man had good self-restraint and was very polite. Still, I could tell that he, like me, wasn’t interested in the blind date—it seems he was duped into coming too."
Jane nodded, believing Nina’s words. Nina was a lawyer, and when she was studying iInternationally, she even studied psychology, earning a double master’s degree. Even if she didn’t work as a lawyer, she could be a psychologist.
So Jane trusted Nina’s judgement. If Nina said the man wasn’t interested in her, it was likely true.
"By the way, what happened to your lips?" Nina had wanted to ask as soon as she walked in the door. Jane’s swollen lips were too obvious, and she had ointment on them.
The moment she thought of James Black at home last night, Nina’s expression suddenly became quite lewd. She pounced on Jane, pinning her down and reaching for her collar, "Come on, let me see how wild things got last night! Look at those lips, all swollen from kissing. Who would have thought that Brother James Black, who seems so repressed, could be so fierce!"
"Get off! Are you a pervert?" Jane pushed Nina’s hand away and said laughing, "I’m on my period. What could we possibly do?"
"..." Nina was half-skeptical, "Then what happened to your lips?"
After asking, Nina suddenly covered her face, "Wow, Jane Sampson, you and Brother James Black... Wow! Wow! So embarrassing! So intense!"
Jane looked at Nina, suddenly excited as if possessed, with a blank expression. What was she suddenly excited about? Embarrassed about what? Intense about what?
"I already said I’m on my period these few days," Jane pushed Nina away, "So what are you getting embarrassed about?"
"Oh stop, don’t have such dirty conversations with me, a married woman!"
Nina covered her face and writhed, cooing in a tone so whiny that Jane got goosebumps all over.
So, Jane reflected, what exactly had she said that was so dirty?
Seeing Jane’s bewildered look, Nina found it boring and said, "You’re no fun. You got married, but you’re still as innocent as a little miss!"
"???" The corners of Jane’s mouth twitched imperceptibly. Her lips were just swollen—how had that led Nina to such wild thoughts?
"Forget it, I’ll stop teasing you." Nina raised her hand and patted Jane’s head, letting out a sigh, "Ah, you poor kid, so naive to have survived this long."
"Are you calling me dumb in my own house? Do you still want to stay here?" Jane sat up from the sofa and shifted to make room for Nina to sit comfortably next to her, "Master Rice of Psychology, let me talk to you about something."
