CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 62 - 70: Just Playing
Seeing Old Master Black looking at her with a smile, she thought for a moment, then immediately ran to him, wrapped her arms around his arm, and said with feigned bravery, "Grandfather, James Black hid my wallet and made me go out just now without money to pay for stuff, how embarrassing!"
Jane Sampson was being so coquettish and tattling like that, and even James Black was surprised to see it. Has the silly goose learned to call in reinforcements now? After Jane finished her complaint and proudly stood next to Old Sir, she snorted at James Black, waiting for the elder to speak on her behalf. She didn’t expect the Old Sir to enjoy the drama; instead, it was James Black who spoke first.
"Your wallet is under the pillow." James Black dropped the remark and went up to his room first.
It was only after James Black went upstairs that Jane Sampson let out a sound of surprise, as if marveling at something.
Old Master Black glanced at Jane Sampson and laughed, "What? You’ve learned to tattle now? Aren’t you afraid James Black will come back and deal with you later?"
Jane Sampson thought for a moment, and shook her head sincerely.
"All’s well, all’s well," Jane Sampson laughed heartily. She had provoked him so many times today, testing his patience over and over, yet he didn’t really get mad.
"Grandfather, I’m going back upstairs too." Jane Sampson was still worried about her wallet, afraid that if she went up too late, James Black might hide it somewhere else. After telling Old Master Black, she trotted off following James Black.
Before entering the room, she poked her head in to take a peek. Not seeing James Black, she then stepped in, heading straight for the bed while looking around for him.
Just now she had seen him enter, so why was there no sign of him now?
"James Black?" Jane sat on the bed and called out, her hand reaching under the pillow. Just like that, she indeed pulled her wallet out from under the pillow.
"Oh, if I’d known it was here, I would’ve taken it back sooner." Jane kissed her wallet, "I’ve missed you so much!"
When James Black came out of the restroom, he just saw Jane holding the wallet and kissing it like a little money-monger. He walked towards Jane and asked, "Did you call me?"
"It’s nothing, just calling out for fun." Jane giggled and quickly shook her head, then headed out of the bedroom with her wallet.
Seeing her run off with a smile that shook like the blossoms, James Black didn’t need to guess to know what Jane Sampson was up to. She must be running downstairs to hide her wallet.
That night, James Black and Jane Sampson stayed at the Black Residence. After dinner, Oliver Black’s family didn’t stay long and left soon after. Old Sir’s routine was very regular; he slept early and rose early, and by 10 p.m., he had already retired to his room.
James Black stayed in the study and read for a while. When he came out, it was almost 11 o’clock. Guessing that Jane wouldn’t wait up for him to sleep, he deliberately tiptoed when he returned to the bedroom.
As he expected, when he entered, he saw Jane Sampson already lying in the bed fast asleep. Despite the air conditioner in the room being set lower than the one in his study, heat-fearing Jane had kicked off her quilt and her pajamas had rolled up to her belly, exposing her white belly which gently moved with her soft breathing.
James walked over and pulled down Jane’s pajamas, covering her chest with the quilt, then adjusted the air conditioning temperature up a bit.
In terms of loving the coolness, Jane Sampson’s habit was the most severe James Black had ever seen.
