Chapter 417: Chapter 425: Really Weak

From rushing headlong to merely succumbing to his kisses, he had transitioned in just one go.

That night, James Black used his body to prove whether he was past his prime and also proved to Jane Sampson, a man long accustomed to a vegetarian diet could be insanely voracious once he had a taste of meat.

It wasn’t until the latter half of the night that Jane was finally freed. Before she fainted from exhaustion, she could still hear someone’s words tinged with regret saying, "You’re so weak."

His tone suggested that if it weren’t for her having been drained of all her energy by him, he’d still want to continue doing something.

Jane had no energy left even to roll her eyes at the man hugging her, and the next second, she fell into a deep sleep, oblivious to James later taking her to the bathroom to clean up, changing the bed sheet, and even putting her back in her pajamas.

Jane swore that she had never slept as well as she did that second half of the night.

The moment she opened her eyes, she saw his chest where several buttons of his pajamas were undone. Jane had just moved, rubbing her eyes with her hand, when she heard someone speaking above her head.

"Awake?" James asked in a gentle voice.

"What time is it?" Jane nodded and sat up, looking down to see that her pajamas had been changed. The two-piece pajamas she was wearing before sleep had been replaced with a broken flower forest-style sleeping skirt.

Fortunately, she had always been a decent sleeper, so she hadn’t exposed anything improper.

"It’s 11 o’clock in the morning." James handed her the alarm clock from the tabletop directly, "Are you a pig?"

Jane was first shocked by James’s announcement that it was 11 in the morning, and then thoroughly infuriated by his question, "Are you a pig?"

"Whether it’s really 11 o’clock is up for debate! Did you deliberately change the alarm clock? Is it actually only 6 o’clock in the morning? Otherwise, why are you still in bed? Don’t you have to go for a morning run every day at 5:30, rain or shine?"

Jane grumbled as she sat up and grabbed her mobile phone from her side of the bedhead cabinet, checking the time!

Dammit!

It really was 11 in the morning!

She cleared her throat, huffed, and shoved the phone under the pillow, "So what if it’s 11 o’clock in the morning? Whose fault is that? Tell me, whose fault is it!"

Jane’s eyes were filled with anger, "The main culprit has no right to mock me!"

After saying that, Jane huffed, threw the quilt aside, and got down to ground level.

Turns out, she had overestimated her ability to recover.

As soon as her feet hit the floor and before she steadied herself, Jane’s legs gave up, and she collapsed, toppling towards the bedhead cabinet. Fortunately, her hand barely managed to grab James’s hand, which had reached out in time, avoiding the disgrace of landing face-first into the cabinet.

"Lie down for a bit longer."

James was genuinely startled by Jane’s fall and seeing that she wasn’t faking it, he lost all interest in teasing her. He got down and carried her back to the bed.

"My legs..."

Jane immediately pulled the quilt up to bury herself entirely.

Damn it, her legs felt virtually paralyzed.

Starting from the top of her legs all the way down to her calves.

This soreness was even worse than yesterday.

"You’ll need to exercise more in the future," James said as he pulled down the quilt, trying to prevent her from smothering herself.

"Get lost!" Jane grabbed his pillow and hurled it at him.

James effortlessly blocked with his hand, and as he spoke again, his voice carried a hint of laughter, "I mean you should pay more attention to exercising in the future, Jane Sampson. Where exactly did your mind go to make you this angry?"
