CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 416 - 424: No Hope Left
But today, James Black shattered the image she had of him in Jane Sampson’s heart all by himself.
Lowering her gaze, she watched the man kissing behind her ear, and Jane finally understood that when you don’t know someone well enough, the version of them you know is always just a performance, and the version you think exists.
"Zi~" After a bite behind her ear, Jane snapped back to reality and faced James’s deep, dark pupils. Angrily grinding her teeth, she exclaimed, "Don’t bite!"
The mark from where he bit her last night hadn’t even faded yet. How on earth was she supposed to meet anyone now?
"Go away! Go away!" Jane pushed against James’s chest with both hands, but he remained unmoved; instead, his eyes fell on her face.
James curved the corner of his mouth in a meaningful smile, took her hands that were pushing against him, and gently forced them above her head.
"You old beast!" Jane glared at James in protest, "You just tormented me last night, my poor back hasn’t recovered yet!"
"Old?" James’s face pressed close to Jane’s, their noses almost touching, "Do I look very old to you?"
"You dead beast!" Jane still knew it was best not to mention the word "old" at this moment.
She was afraid that if she did, he’d prove his youthful vigor to her in a certain way.
"Jane Sampson," James wasn’t in a hurry now, he let go of her hands, and most of the weight of his upper body pressed upon her. He raised his eyebrows and asked, "Let’s be reasonable, for how long have you been abstaining from me, huh?" 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
A single "huh" voiced all the grievances he hadn’t settled with her over the past several months!
Jane blinked and retorted, "Didn’t you have your fill last night?"
"Last night was last night." James’s hand gently pinched Jane’s face, and seeing her pout, he chuckled softly, leaned in, and kissed her lips, "Dreaming of a husband who can’t get it up? You won’t have that chance in this lifetime."
Indeed, there was no hope in this lifetime, as if there had been any hope in her previous one.
In her previous life, before rebirth, Jane would think during the moments when James exhausted her that marrying a man who couldn’t perform would be blissful.
Every night would simply involve covering oneself with a quilt to sleep.
James wasn’t intending to speak anymore; in those few seconds when Jane was lost in thought, his kisses descended once again.
Perhaps dissatisfied with Jane’s distraction, he intentionally bit her lip, and after a suppressed yelp from her and a return gaze, James resumed his conquest of her defenses.
This time, however, his kiss was much gentler than before.
One hand cradled the back of her head, bringing their lips into closer contact; the other supported her waist, pressing their lower abdomens tightly together through the fabric of their clothes.
Her breathing grew heavier; wherever he kissed felt as though it had been brushed by feathers—ticklish and numb, yet possessing a magical power that could make her whole body go weak.
He nibbled gently on her shoulder, and Jane thought to push him away, but upon opening her mouth, a short whimper escaped first, causing her to blush in embarrassment.
Her heartbeat tonight was more urgent than yesterday, and his kisses tonight were even more skilled than last night’s.
Jane thought that she had to believe that James Black definitely had a great learning ability, and indeed, he was hands-on.
