CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 386 - 394: It Impressed Me
"Just let her and you sing this song," John Young said, "I’ll come to your company tomorrow to find you."
"I won’t be at the company tomorrow, I’ll be at the countryside resort filming the MV for my single song, and Jane Sampson is the female lead in my MV," James Carter replied, "I’ll ask her about what you mentioned tomorrow."
"I haven’t watched her shows yet, but just listening to her songs, it feels like your circle of singers is missing such a spirited singer, which is quite a pity," John Young laughed heartily, "When I get to know her, I’ll meet her, and if there’s a chance, I’ll pull her into my film crew."
John Young laughed happily, "I just love dealing with talented and diligent people like her."
The two chatted about music and movies for over an hour, so James Carter didn’t get to rest for a while and day broke, sounds started coming from the room next door.
Lying in bed, James Carter thought for a moment, got up, opened the door, and ran into a makeup artist girl who was about to knock on Jane Sampson’s room door; he stopped her and said, "You guys go back and rest for a while longer; we’re not in a hurry to film today. Wait until she wakes up and comes to you."
Jane Sampson also rested very late last night, so James Carter was worried that Jane Sampson would not feel well if she got up so early, hence, he would rather delay work arrangements for one more day.
"If it’s late, the light won’t be as soft as early in the morning," the makeup artist girl asked James Carter, "Is that okay?"
"No problem, if the light causes the filming to be unable to continue, then we’ll just shoot tomorrow morning. Consider today a vacation," James Carter replied with a warm smile, then explained, "She rested very late last night. Let her sleep for a while longer."
The makeup artist girl gave an ’oh’ and nodded, wondering in her heart how Mr. Carter knew Miss Sampson slept late last night.
Just as the two were about to return to their rooms after exchanging a few words in the corridor, the door to Jane Sampson’s room suddenly opened. Jane Sampson came out, made a surprised sound, and asked the makeup artist standing at the door, "Why didn’t you knock?"
"I told her not to disturb you," James Carter said as he approached with his cane, "You sent me the recording at 3:30 last night; I was worried you hadn’t woken up."
"It’s okay; I set an alarm," Jane Sampson smiled.
No matter how late she slept, Jane Sampson would set an alarm.
In Jane Sampson’s opinion, sleeping late was not an excuse for being late and not adhering to the schedule.
She also couldn’t use spending a long time writing lyrics last night as an excuse to delay the entire crew’s time; she knew that renting the holiday village wasn’t cheap for James Carter, and she was aware of his tight schedule.
The makeup artist went into Jane Sampson’s room to do her makeup while James Carter went back to his room to wash up for a while before heading to Jane Sampson’s room.
While Jane Sampson was getting her makeup done, Elizabeth King brought down some easily digestible breakfast from downstairs. James Carter stood by and watched for a bit before saying, "The song last night, Jane, really amazed me."
Jane Sampson, feeling somewhat embarrassed by the praise, smiled and replied, "Mr. Carter’s appreciation gives me a lot of confidence."
"I forwarded what you sent me last night to John Young. John thinks that this song should be sung by you and me together. Do you see any problem with that?" James Carter asked.
Jane Sampson, who was drinking soy milk, was momentarily taken aback, then turned slightly to look at James Carter, "Me singing?"
If asked whether Jane Sampson really wanted to sing, her answer would undoubtedly be affirmative.
