"It smells so good." Jane Sampson stuck out her tongue and made a goofy face like a child caught stealing snacks, then sat up straight.

James Black placed the bowl and chopsticks in front of Jane Sampson, looked at her right hand, thought for a moment, and replaced her chopsticks with a soup scoop.
