Chapter 260: Chapter 268: Love, Return or Not

It was not a rhetorical question, but a certainty.

Jane Sampson’s heart skipped a beat, and alarms sounded in her head.

How did this guy suddenly become so well-informed?

"Jane Sampson, have you really taken your health seriously?" James Black asked, then sneered coldly after asking, "The day before you returned from the wine market, you were still suffering from a headache, and the next day your condition on the airplane wasn’t much better. Quite impressive, the moment I left, you immediately booked a flight ticket."

"I..." Jane Sampson opened her mouth, wanting to explain that she had to come back here for filming, and couldn’t keep the film crew waiting just for her.

But James Black did not give her a chance to speak; he cut her off at the height of his anger.

"Jane Sampson, shut up." There was still no hint of emotion in James Black’s voice, icy cold, even the anger seemed to be concealed, "I told you to rest at home and wait for me to return this weekend. However, apparently, you have never listened to my words."

"Since you yourself don’t care about your body, fine." James Black said indifferently, "Fine then, from now on, I won’t bother with your matters anymore."

Jane Sampson never knew that a person’s indifference could, with just one sentence, just a tone of voice, an attitude, cause such heartache.

"James Black." Jane Sampson called out cautiously to James Black, "I am coming home next month."

"Whatever suits you." James Black replied dismissively in two words, paused for two seconds, then added another sentence, "Love it or not, it’s up to you."

After speaking, James Black hung up the phone and then, in extreme irritation, flung his mobile phone onto the sofa. His gaze settled on the small desk calendar next to her dressing table; the calendar was still on the date she had returned to the small town.

A fire blazed in James Black’s chest, eager to burst forth yet finding nowhere to release it.

He couldn’t yell or shout at Jane Sampson over the phone, he had been holding back, holding back, but found that the more he withheld, the greater his rage grew.

He had been out for tasks the past two days, got back to the base last night after a long night, and after resting for just two hours, worried Jane Sampson would be at home waiting for him, so he rushed out from the base early in the morning.

Passing by the breakfast café, remembering Jane Sampson’s habit of lying in, he specially got out of the car to bring her breakfast.

This breakfast, still steaming on the tea table, was tossed by James Black into the trash can with a lift of his hand.

After all, with the intended eater not at home, what good was it to keep it?

James Black grabbed his car key, slammed the door, and left home without going anywhere else and went straight back to the dormitory at the base.

After changing into a new set of clothes, he headed to the boxing room, not emerging from this room, where he was alone, for the entire morning.

Back at the hotel, because of that phone call from James Black, Jane Sampson was fully awake.

Listening to the buzzing sound, Jane Sampson’s heart became somewhat panicked.

She knew that this time, James Black was really, really angry.

Jane Sampson also knew that James Black had a reason to be angry, he was concerned about her health, her disobedience in coming back early.

He should be angry.

Jane Sampson wanted to say sorry to James Black and properly admit her fault, and if possible, to say a few soft words to ease James Black’s anger.

But when Jane Sampson gathered the courage to dial his number, James Black did not answer.

Jane Sampson felt a chill in her heart, it was done for, Chief Black was truly angry this time.

Jane Sampson opened WhatsApp, clicked on the avatar of that WhatsAPP friend with the unflattering photo, and from the emoticons selected the cutest one for apologizing and sent it over.

After waiting a few seconds and receiving no reply from James Black, she sent another identical one. Without a reply, Jane Sampson went ahead and sent a long string of them as if flooding the screen.

James Black still didn’t reply.

Jane Sampson sighed and lost all mood to get a bit more sleep, dressed up and then headed out to the theatre.

Daniel Taylor was surprised to see Jane Sampson come over early in the morning and asked, "Why not sleep for a while longer?"

"It’s okay, I came to learn some more," Jane Sampson said, smiling up at Daniel Taylor before taking a stool and sitting next to him.

"A teachable student," Daniel Taylor nodded in satisfaction.

Jane Sampson was continuously checking her WhatsAPP on her mobile phone, but she hadn’t expected that, after finishing lunch, there would finally be some activity from James Black.

Unfortunately, it was just a system notification informing her that she was no longer James Black’s WhatsAPP friend.

Yep, James Black had blocked her without a word.
