CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 228 - 236: Very Happy
Jane Sampson felt no psychological pressure as she let James Black lead her onto the motorcycle.
James reached over and handed her a helmet, "Put this on, then hug my waist."
Jane did as she was told, and after putting on the helmet, she reached around and hugged James’s waist. She felt his body tremble for a moment, then she loosened her grip and asked, "Is it uncomfortable for you, the way I’m holding you?"
James’s eyes rested on Jane’s hands for a few seconds, then he shook his head, "Hug me like you did just now. I didn’t say let go, don’t let go."
After saying this, he put on his own helmet with swift efficiency.
Jane looked at James, puzzled, but still obediently wrapped her arms around him.
With the helmet keeping the wind and sand at bay, Jane didn’t feel any discomfort. However, the sound of sand pattering against the helmet was unmistakably real, indicating the ferocity of the desert winds atop the mountain.
Considering Jane was with him, James didn’t drive the desert motorcycle as fast as he had when he was alone the last time.
The desert stretched vast in front of them, with most tourists lingering around the perimeter. The deeper they went, the fewer people they saw, until it was mostly just an occasional motorcyclist, with barely any pedestrians.
All the beautiful scenes must be hidden deeper within.
The heart of this desert was different from the crowded scenes outside, truly beautiful. Its beauty struck deep into the soul, leaving Jane full of awe and a memory to last a lifetime.
It was here that Jane first experienced the desolation that is often described as a lone column of smoke rising in the desert. Perhaps because she was with James, she didn’t feel the melancholy that is associated with such solitude. What she felt was the stunning impact of the nation’s natural and cultural landscape and the beauty and magic of the desert.
Gazing into the distance, apart from the occasional dot of stubby greenery, all she saw was a vast expanse of yellow sand. The sand seemed endless, and above it was the azure sky with the sun hanging high, its golden rays bathing every inch of the land.
James slowed the car to a stop, and without waiting for him to lead her, Jane excitedly jumped off and ran about in the sandy land like a child.
"James, it’s so beautiful here! So beautiful!" Jane kept jumping and running around excitedly. When she couldn’t run or jump anymore, she just plonked down onto the ground.
James waited for Jane to run out of energy before he walked over from the motorcycle and handed her a bottle of mineral water, "Sip slowly, don’t drink it too quickly."
In fact, Jane found it hard to obey. Taking the water, she gulped down half the bottle in one go, then holding the bottle, she looked up at James, who stood above her with a frown, and grinned with her small white teeth, "I’m too thirsty, couldn’t help it. So it’s not that I’m disobedient."
Seeing her smiling face, James, for the first time, allowed a smile to tug at the corners of his mouth and reached out to ruffle her head through the scarf, "Are you happy?"
"Mhm," Jane nodded without hesitation, "I’ve never been out before. I never knew our country’s mountains and rivers were so beautiful and varied."
"Next time I’ll take you somewhere else."
Perhaps it was her smile that infected him, but he found himself making that promise impulsively.
Her laughter was carefree and unrestrained, and when she laughed without any reservations, she was truly beautiful.
