CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 223 - 231: Or What?
Jane Sampson looked at her mobile phone for a long time, not knowing whether she was looking at the person in the photo or the scenery.
James Black moved quickly, and when he returned, he had an extra bag in his hand.
He stopped in front of Jane and, unaware that she had sneakily taken a photo of him, quickly took out a cup of tangerine-flavored juice from the bag and inserted a thin straw before handing it to Jane.
"It’s a bit cold; don’t drink it too fast," James Black reminded her subconsciously.
Jane made a sound of acknowledgment, seemingly enthralled by the coolness of the cup, put away her phone into her pocket, and held the cup with both hands, sipping slowly.
Sweat still hung on James Black’s forehead. Despite the scorching midday heat and the long distance, he had run there and back without a single word of complaint, his face showing not the slightest impatience.
It was the first time Jane realized that James Black’s temperament could be quite good at times.
And before this, she had never thought James Black had a good temperament.
In fact, no one who knew James Black had ever said he had a good temperament.
"What else is in the bag?" Jane asked as she poked the bag.
"Mineral water. We’re going to mountain climb later, and there’s no place to buy water up there," James Black answered. "After we go in, we’ll first visit the desert, and in the evening, we’ll go down to Tooth Spring to watch the sunset."
"James Black, have you been here before?" If he hadn’t been, how would he know so many details?
"Yes," James Black nodded.
He had visited the wine market on a business trip and took the chance to see a few tourist attractions around the area; he had indeed been here before.
It seemed to be an instinctual action. When it was time to move forward again, James Black reached out and held Jane’s hand in his palm.
And this time, Jane became particularly quiet, so well-behaved that James Black glanced back at her several times.
She was suddenly not frolicking and causing trouble, and James Black felt somewhat unused to it.
Although, Jane had always been this way before, but recently, she had clearly become more troublesome, and James Black seemed to prefer that troublemaking Jane.
Even if it meant he had to constantly remind her not to jump or run, and to be careful not to bump into anyone, and so on.
"Are you unhappy?" James Black felt it was strange, so he asked.
"Not at all," Jane shook her head, then raised the cup in her hand towards James Black, "The tangerine-flavored juice is really good; thank you, James Black."
"Is that all?" James Black asked, somewhat incredulous.
"What else?" Jane flung her hand, the one James Black was holding, "I think I’d be even more grateful if you could let go of your hand."
The last sentence successfully lightened James Black’s heart.
This was the real Jane Sampson.
She always had to get a couple of jabs in to annoy him; that was the normal Jane Sampson.
And James Black thought that maybe he didn’t need so many thanks from Jane, so, he decided to keep holding her hand.
What if she started causing trouble again and bumped into passersby?
James Black had originally planned to take Jane on a camel ride up the mountain, but once they reached the ticket booth, not just Jane, even James Black was daunted by the long queue.
"We didn’t see many people along the way, so I thought at this time, with such heat, nobody would come to the tourism zone. But I was naive!" Jane held her forehead. With such a popular tourist attraction during peak travel season, even at midday, how could there be no people?
Heat could never thwart the passion of tourists; after all, people who are afraid of the heat would likely not come here.
"If you want to ride the camel, then we’ll wait," James Black said, looking down at Jane, "If you don’t want to wait, we can just hike up."
