Before James Carter could say a word, Jillian Carter continued, "But, it’s also my fault for choosing a not-so-reliable dining hall. If she’s upset, Brother, please tell her that I apologize."

James Carter’s eyelid moved slightly, his voice still indifferent, "She’s also busy. Her mobile phone is with her assistant, so she doesn’t have time to answer calls. You don’t need to think too much; she’s not the unreasonable person you think she is."

"Then I’m relieved. I knew Jane Sampson couldn’t be an unreasonable person." Jillian Carter’s laughter was light, "Brother, last night when I was browsing posts, I found another super delicious and unique dining hall. After you finish filming, let’s go try it together in the evening?"

"Brother, I’ve booked a flight ticket for tomorrow morning to go back. I’ll have one meal with you and Jane Sampson, then I have to go home."

"Brother, you and Jane Sampson can just accompany me for some tasty food. I don’t know anyone else here. If you don’t go with me, I’ll have to go alone, which would be so lonely."

This was the first time James Carter knew that Jillian Carter could say so much in one breath.

James Carter glanced at Jane Sampson, but instead of asking her, he said to Jillian Carter, "We’re busy. It will be very late when we finish filming in the evening."

Upon hearing this, Jillian Carter quickly changed her tone, "Then let’s change dinner to a late-night snack. That shop is open until 2 a.m., and I can reserve a spot for a late-night snack."

"No need. After filming, I’ll be exhausted from a whole day and just want to go back to the hotel to rest earlier. We still have to get up early tomorrow to continue filming. There will be plenty of time to eat after we’re done." James Carter waved at the assistant while speaking quickly on the phone to Jillian Carter, "I’m busy here, so I won’t talk to you. Hanging up now."

The call ended unilaterally, and James handed over the mobile phone to his assistant, instructing, "She’s just idle and bored, nothing urgent. If she calls again, you don’t need to respond."

"Got it, Brother Dock." The assistant grabbed the phone and ran off.

The director lightly tapped the tabletop with the script rolled in his hand and couldn’t help but comment, "Why does your sister have so many issues? I remember she’s already married, right? The director, saying this, seemed to think of something funny and laughed, "Even my wife isn’t this clingy with me. No, I mean, even my daughter isn’t this clingy. I see Jane, you aren’t this clingy with your husband, are you?"

Jane Sampson looked up from the script with a bewildered expression, staring at the director’s face with a look of "what were you just saying?"

The director was amused by Jane Sampson’s silly demeanor. He tapped her forehead lightly with the script rolled in his hand and playfully scolded, "Silly girl."

Jane Sampson chuckled at the director, reached out to rub the spot where she was lightly hit, and mumbled, "I only caught you asking about my husband in the end. You were talking about calls just now, but I was thinking about what you said about acting. I got so absorbed that I didn’t notice what you were talking about."

After saying that, Jane Sampson looked around at James Carter and the director, and earnestly asked, "So, what were you just asking me?"

"I was just asking if, usually, you’d cling to your husband." The director actually asked again.
