CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 1900 - 1908: Hand It to Me
Her mind kept replaying the sentence she had just heard on the phone.
"Miss Carter, I’m sorry, but all the materials related to this morning’s interview were destroyed by our Editor-in-chief. The Editor-in-chief said he received notice from the boss that such articles can’t be published. Moreover, I heard from peers that those who went this morning all mentioned receiving this notification. All our video and interview records have been handed over and destroyed, with so many people going this morning, not a single copy left."
"Not a single copy left, all destroyed." Jillian Carter bit her teeth tightly, repeatedly saying this sentence.
For a long time, she stood there, sneering continuously.
"Jane Sampson, is this just the beginning and you’re already unable to refrain from wanting to retaliate?" Jillian Carter kicked away the broken glass by her foot, "Well, there’s still such a long lifetime ahead, I just want to see to what extent you can endure!"
After saying this, Jillian Carter called over the hotel staff and directly switched to another room. Faced with the hotel’s questions about the broken cup and electric kettle, Jillian Carter simply explained by saying she accidentally slipped and broke them.
After changing rooms, Jillian Carter lay back down on the bed to get some good sleep.
Last night, she was too excited watching forum posts and didn’t sleep a wink the whole night. In the morning, she went downstairs pretending to have breakfast to accept the interview, and then kept waiting for the interview video to be released, only to receive this news now.
However, tossing and turning, her heart filled with too many things, Jillian Carter couldn’t muster the slightest sleepiness.
Half an hour later, she sat up again, picked up her mobile phone, and called Jane Sampson.
It was unclear whether Jane Sampson was busy or deliberately not answering her calls. Jillian Carter called three times, yet Jane Sampson’s phone always showed that no one was answering at the moment.
Thinking it over, Jillian Carter then called James Carter.
When James Carter’s mobile phone rang, he was listening to the director explain important parts of the drama to him and Jane Sampson. His assistant brought the mobile phone over to him, saying, "Brother Dock, it’s Miss Carter’s call. She’s already called three times. I was worried she might have an urgent matter, so I brought the phone over. Do you want to answer first?"
The moment the director heard Jillian Carter’s name, his first reaction was to frown, instinctively glancing at Jane Sampson.
But Jane Sampson acted as if she didn’t hear anything, keeping her head down and focusing on the script in her hands, seemingly very serious about studying the script’s content, without noticing the conversation between James Carter’s assistant and James Carter.
"Give it to me." James Carter reached out and took the mobile phone, answering the call.
As soon as the call connected, James Carter heard Jillian Carter’s voice filled with a playful reprimand.
"Brother, why did you only just pick up the phone? I’ve already called three times!"
"I’m busy." James Carter explained lightly, "I’m filming, and the mobile phone wasn’t by my side. Do you have an urgent matter?"
"Not really urgent, oh right, is Jane Sampson by your side? I called her several times, why didn’t she pick up? Quickly tell me, she wouldn’t be mad at me because of the twitter thing, right? Last night, I invited you guys to dinner, I didn’t expect someone to take photos, then she might think I deliberately wanted to ride her popularity?"
Jillian Carter’s tone was full of grievance, "If she’s upset with me because of this, then she’s being really unreasonable. I didn’t know last night would turn out like that, and besides, I’ve already decided to leave the entertainment industry, gaining popularity and hype is useless to me."
