Chapter 169: Chapter 177: Going on Stage

As soon as they went on stage, they flaunted their affection for each other under Mr. Humming’s teasing to the audience. The young audience members seated below got a big dose of "dog food," and the cheers for the two of them easily overpowered those for the previous pair.

Next up were William Chip and Abigail Chip who had risen to prominence over the past two years. Although both had the surname Chip, they were not really siblings but had merely co-starred in a TV series once.

Because they were acquainted and of similar status, the two were introduced by the host at the same time and took the stage together. Before Jane Sampson, there was Alexander SkyShaw on stage. Jane knew a bit more about him since he was a singer-turned-actor. She had briefly followed his career after sharing the stage with James Carter when he first started as a singer.

When Alexander SkyShaw took the stage, there was loud cheering. Many of his music fans had followed him through his transformation and continued their support all the way here.

"Next up, I want to invite someone who many of you may have only recently learned about. She’s a girl who is incredibly beautiful and sweet. She was once called a piano prodigy and is a winner of many international piano competitions. Now, ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Jane Sampson with your applause!"

Backstage, Jane was experiencing nerves like never before. With every person that went out, there were countless screams and cheers, and she was terribly afraid that when she walked out, there would be an uncomfortably silent reception.

Perhaps to ease Jane’s nerves, Mr. Humming began the applause. When Jane appeared, although the atmosphere wasn’t as heated as for those before her, it thankfully wasn’t the scenario she had feared. And down in the audience, Quincy Forest was shouting Jane’s name like a crazy little fangirl.

Once she was on stage and saw Jasmine Seven waving at her from the crowd, Jane sneakily made a face at her. Unexpectedly, this small gesture was captured by a photographer and broadcasted onto the big screen, instantly endearing her to the crowd below and eliciting a wave of surprised exclamations of "Wow, how cute!"

Julie Sampson stood there clutching the microphone, struggling to maintain her smile. Why was it that despite standing right next to Mr. Humming, nobody paid her extra attention?

They were both on the same stage, yet newcomer Jane Sampson was receiving more attention than she?

A single shot, which was just an insert for the show—this was a taped recording, Jane wasn’t even sure if this shot would be kept in the broadcast.

Every guest on the show brought new projects with them, and as a newcomer among so many seniors, Jane didn’t have much of a chance to join the conversation. She sat there quietly, without arrogance or impatience, always with a smile on her face, listening sincerely to everything said, never letting her attention wander.

Unknown to Jane, her earnestness and respect had earned her silent admiration from Mr. Humming who was secretly observing her.

Of all the guests on stage, Jane Sampson and Alexander SkyShaw were the more reserved types. But thanks to Mr. Humming’s care, they both managed to speak a few words and introduced their new projects that were soon to be released, with Jane even managing to advertise for her newly started project.

In contrast, Julie Sampson’s presence was even less felt than that of Jane Sampson and Alexander SkyShaw. On stage, Mr. Humming and the other female host, Sasha, seemed to be enough, and sometimes Sasha would throw a topic to Julie. However, Julie’s ability to ad-lib and join the conversation was lacking, and her words always seemed to result in awkward chitchat.
