Chapter 1580: Chapter 1588 Guess the Vegetable Name

Not going out on guard duty because of the rain means no candlelight dinner for Valentine’s Day.

But, it’s a rare occasion, we can’t just skip any sense of ceremony.

No candlelight dinner, but there should be an electric lamp double meal.

Jane Sampson was so busy in the kitchen that she lost track of time. The kitchen was noisy with cooking, she didn’t even realize when James Black opened the door and came in. "Jane." James called out to her twice from the doorway without hearing a response, so he took off his shoes and went inside. Hearing the noise from the kitchen, he pushed the door open and entered, asking, "What are you doing in the kitchen? Why didn’t you answer your phone?"

But the moment he stepped inside, James was immediately hit by the aroma.

He was stunned for a second, standing there watching the intensely busy Jane Sampson in front of him.

"What time is it? You’re already back?" Jane Sampson turned and glanced over her shoulder at James Black, explaining, "I left my mobile phone in my purse in the living room, so I didn’t hear it ring since I was inside the kitchen."

At this point, Jane Sampson suddenly slapped her own head, "Oh no! I forgot to tell you we don’t need to eat at the dining hall tonight. You didn’t pack anything back, did you?"

James Black shook his head, glanced at the stuff on the stove, "Did you go out this afternoon?"

"Yeah, I saw there weren’t any vegetables in the refrigerator, so I went out to buy some." Jane Sampson nodded.

"The rain was so heavy, and you went out specifically for that? You didn’t get wet, did you?" James Black frowned slightly.

"No, it was drizzling when I went out." Jane Sampson shook her head, then urged James Black to take the dishes she had already prepared to the dining table.

After all the meals were brought out, Jane Sampson finally carried out the soup that had been stewing for half the afternoon, eagerly serving James Black a bowl first, and handed it to him, "Quick, have some soup to warm up."

Watching James Black lower his head and drink a few sips, she then sat down next to him, resting her chin in her hand, her eyes smiling as she looked at James Black, asking very gently, "Can you guess the name of this soup?"

James Black glanced at Jane Sampson, who was smiling with a hint of crisis, and reached out to scoop some soup from the pot in front of him, but just as his hand reached out, Jane Sampson grabbed it.

"No peeking~" Jane Sampson said with a mischievous smile, shaking her head at James Black.

"What bizarre new dish did you cook?" James Black speculated on this possibility, but still admitted honestly, "But, it tastes good."

"It’s not a bizarre new dish, it’s a very nutritious tonic soup." Jane Sampson smiled wickedly, baring her teeth, "The name of this is, ’Originally born from the same root, why hurry to hurt each other.’"

"..." James Black withdrew his hand from Jane Sampson’s, "What a ridiculous name?"

Then he picked up a spoon and fished for a bit in the soup base, pausing for two seconds, "Soft-shelled turtle soup?"

"Wrong, it’s turtle soup." Saying this, Jane Sampson burst into laughter all by herself, laughing so hard at her own joke that she rocked back and forth with tears in her eyes.

James Black’s mind flashed to when Jane Sampson was angry and cursing him in her Moments.

Bastard Black.

So, ’Originally born from the same root, why hurry to hurt each other’ meant just this.

James Black was both amused and mad, recognizing it was just a roundabout way of insulting him.

"You’re not drinking?" James Black glanced at the table, seeing only the soup, wondering if she truly wouldn’t drink it.

"I really won’t drink it~" Jane Sampson wiggled her fair fingers, "I cooked seaweed egg drop soup for myself in there, this turtle soup, if I drink it, I’d feel itchy."

"You’re something else." James Black lightly tapped Jane Sampson’s forehead with his finger, then took a piece of paper to wipe her tears, "It’s that funny?"

He showed no sign of irritation.
